    I built a 12.5 6mm ARC upper a couple of months ago. Love it. I average about 2350 fps with Hornady factory 108Match. 1moa or a little better @ 100YDS. I got a faxon barrel on sale, Trybe Defense BCG with Grendel Bolt, Radian Raptor SD, Aero Precision Atlas S-1 Handguard. Put it all in a spare Wilson Combat Upper receiver. Supervative arms Adjustable gas block topped off with a Huxwrx Ventum via Area 419 Hellfire muzzle device. I'm all in less than $650 on the upper. Not counting the silencer. No problem hitting a 5" plate at 300yds. Stacking tolerances My Ass! My Frankenupper shoots great. I usually set it on a Geiselle Superduy SBR lower with a Geissele SSA-E so that helps. I've got about 180 rounds on it without a hiccup. Tons of fun to shoot.

      at 9000ft elevation, your pill still has 1000 ft/lbs force at 323 yards. It is a legal law requirement to hunt elk. Still has ~2035fps at impact at that distance, so plenty for expansion. eldm is known to be amazing on game.

    I have that exact buttstock, nice, light and works well on a small v bag on a bench. But you are right about it being loose on a Mil spec buffer. I had to double check that I had a true mil spec buffer it’s that loose.
    I have semi fixed by using stick on Velcro, material side as 2 little squares on the top side of the buffer, works well but will still rock a bit.
    Mine is mounted on the Oryx pistol stock Howa Mini 300 Blk (MDT only made a short batch of these stocks) with 1913 pic mount Midwest Ind adapter

    Just got my 12" 6 ARC running today. Sighted in with hand loads. 90 grain sierra game king (the plastic green tip) CFE 223 30.1 grains, my garmin had those at 2505 average FPS, 1 MOA or under on 3 shot groups off bags. I had no muzzle break or supressor on it. Its sure is lite and it jumps like a bobcat!!! :) But I am Liking it. My build was a bit more budget but I did go with an Odinworks barrel and adjustable gas block, Rise armament trigger, 5X Primary arms prism optic.

    Love the setup. 12.5 will be my first 6arc when i finally build one this summer. Just stating facts for the masses, cassette triggers are cool, they are great - and simple. The downside to cassette triggers are having issues with carbon build up and popped primers shutting the entire gun down. I know... I know... The odds of those things happening are extremely low. Im just telling you thats why you wont see sof guys running cassette triggers though. It does happen. Mission drives gear. Nothing wring with casette triggers, just keep that in mind when you're building

    • @LRRPFco52
      @LRRPFco52 5 месяцев назад

      @@l337l0gan I've made 1st-round hits at 900yds with my 12" Grendel. I normally shoot steel starting at 400yds, then go to 780yds with about 90% hit rate in 5-7mph winds shooting 123gr ELD-M.
      I would seriously think about doing a 6.5 Grendel instead. You have 127+ factory loads to choose from, including 3 news ones from AAC.
      If you want 6mm ARC performance, just shoot the 100gr ELD-VT new load from Hornady.
      I de-edge, blend, and polish my barrel extension feed ramps, square the receiver face with a lapping tool, seal my gas blocks, and use the Bootleg adjustable gas carrier.
      Get a Rexus Grendel/ARC bolt no matter what route you go. Noveske makes great barrels as does Precision Firearms and several other companies. I've had excellent experiences with Lilja, PF, Noveske, Proof.
      I would love a complete Noveske Grendel Ghetto Blaster with 8.5" barrel. 8.5" is what I'm focusing on now with a new ultra-high velocity projectile in Grendel. Think 3050fps from a Grendel PDW.

    I can't wait to get some of the VT ammo for my 6arc. What kind of point of impact shift are you seeing, when your rifle is zeroed for the 108's? I know going from the 108 eldm to the 103 eldx, there really isn't much of a difference.

    • @LRRPFco52
      @LRRPFco52 6 месяцев назад

      I don't know about 6mm, but the 100gr ELD-VT in 6.5 Grendel is basically 6mm AR in a box without needing to make the change. I haven't been off-steel with it from 700-1000yds.
      I didn't even bother shooting it at 100yds. Ran the numbers through my program to get mv for a shorter barrel, plugged in all my atmospheric data, 1st-round connect at 700yds, 800yds, then I emptied the rest on the large 1000yd gong. Vertical is really tight.
      Others have stripped down the load after getting ES, and it was in really nice SDs/ES.
      Shoots really flat. I compared it with 6mm 103gr ELD-X and 108gr ELD-M Doppler Radar numbers, and they're ballistic equivalents. Kinda makes 6mm pointless. You can hand-load 100-110gr faster in Grendel due to piston area/bore ratio, with less chamber pressure.

    I've run 1,000 rounds through my 14.5 noveske 6arc and my 12.5 noveske 6 arc and the difference is about 100 fps slower in my 12.5 vs my 14.5. With 108 eldm factory ammo. Both shoot lights out and you guys are sleeping on BRT gas tubes. Especially on 6arc

      don't have it on arc but on shorty builds - doesn't fail, doesn't carbon lock. probably more expensive than a reduced opening gas tube should be but it's a simpler cheaper way to reduce gas on an overgassed rifle.

      @@penn9363 only down fall I see is being locked in on a certain size at that price point. Where as you do have the option of adjusting on gas block. I’m familiar with the company, not t&e practices though. So price could be justified if the amount of testing reflects when allowing them to select the size. That said, I’d still prefer an adjustable gas block. In particular the ability for bleed off.

      I'm using Bootleg adjustable gas carriers on all my short barrel CLGS & PLGS suppressed blasters.
      Been using it on 2x 12" Grendels I built in 2017, both with high efficiency TBAC cans. Both have been running great since 2017 on fully-suppressed position, using extra power action springs.
      I'm also liking what I'm seeing from RifleSpeed 12 position blocks with the extended cylinder mechanical advantage.

      Its a .gov sales only smaller footprint version of the Vortex 1-10. I believe they're calling that one the AMG 1-10. They realeased a small number of them that came as a package with a DD rifle of some sort for the low low price of $6k. They went fast, and Vortex claims they wont be releasing any more.

    When you open with "Is it worth it to build a 12 inch six Arc as far as performance goes" a reasonable person would expect you to spend the majority of the video talking about performance of a 6 ARC in a 12in barrel. Instead you spent 19min talking about everything but performance, and that makes for a frustrating video.

    6mm arc is just another failed attempt to dethrone 6.5 grendel. 6.8 spc, 224 valk, 300 blk, 6 arc. All tried yet none beat it. The 129gr eld beat any other ar15 cartridge in distance, and not to mention greater muzzle energy, wider bullet, more expansion, heavier. Uses the eame mags, same capacity. Easily reloadable, and works amazingly in short barrels

    10 years ago Noveske was manufacturing a solid rifle. Now they are all about gimmicks and marketing with rifles like the “ghetto blaster”. I wish Noveske continued to manufacture quality the way LaRue has over the years. I would never want a Noveske manufactured today.

    Waste of time and money.
    I would just have a 5.56 instead because it's proven in short barrel.
    AR15 isn't the most accurate rifle to start with.
    That being said, you can build one to moa.
    If I'm hunting or want a longer range with the AR15, I'm going with a 20 to 22in barrel.
    I like the 22arc, 6arc, and 6max, but 223/556 are proven especially in short barrel.
