I found a Savage 949 Single Shot 12 gauge at a pawn shop for under $50, then I found the x-caliber chamber inserts on Gunbroker for $230, and they have worked well for me. Some inserts are more accurate than others tho.
Even if your not a prepped just a normal gun enthusiast I could see this being useful just so you have more variety on what you can shot if you can only afford a single gun.
.22 inserts are a good option and are cheap and the ammo is cheap enough to shoot all day. Allows your 12g to take small game without messing with the fur and meat for the prep option. As long as you're sneaky enough for head shots of course. Makes the 12g a super versatile survival gun.
This was the add i was on' most likely they are not very informed. The X-Caliber Adapter Set allows shooting the most popular centerfire pistol cartridges through any break-open action 12 gauge or 20 gauge shotgun. Inserts include 12/20ga (rifled), 12/357 Mag (smooth bore), 12/410 bore (smooth bore), 12/9mm luger (smooth bore), 12/45 ACP (smooth bore), 12/40 S&W (smooth bore), 12/44 Rem Magnum (smooth bore), and 12/.380 ACP (smooth bore). Check out the Chaszel adapters. I made a vids on my channel about them. Chaszel adapters are full length rifled adapters in rounds from 22LR to 45-70 and bottle necked rounds like 30-30 and 35Remington
on your second .45acp/.44 mag shot aimed at the center of the dummy, your spotter called them as headshots, but they hit dead center of mass, and slightly up and to the left of center lol.
I got these & a $200 junk single shot with decent cheap sights. put my 10" gong at other side of a valley (range finder says 143 meters) & hit with almost all pistol calibers! Even 380! (the Herters 45 colt I had couldn't hit a phone booth if I was inside it)

You'll stand a better chance against a hord of zombies charging all at once. That's just common sense.
I've seen them used to shoot from 50 yards and they are as accurate as the shooter . I've seen shaving cream cans destroyed @ 50 yards using the .38 special , .9mm , .45 acp & the .357 barrel chamber adapters . Pretty tight grouping too on a paper target . All done with a 12 gauge break action shot gun .
Your right $800 bucks is to much.If it was around 300 to maybe but your new system looks pretty cool it would be handy. I have many types of ammo laying around the house.
Try to find a full-set of the X-Caliber 20 gauge adapters now. I managed to get a set a couple years ago but haven't seen another. I even have a rifled 20 gauge to .22 LR adapter. The usefulness of these adapters is entirely dependent on being able to accurately aim them which is impossible without mounting some kind of adjustable sight on the gun(s) the adapters are used in. I have a highly useful combination of 2 single-shot Rossi shotguns, one in 20 gauge and one in 12 gauge with somewhat shortened barrels. With an X-Caliber 12 to 20 ga. adapter, the 20 ga adapter set works fine in both guns. I've mounted ATI collapsible stocks, fore-ends and heat shields with ghost ring sights on both. The ghost ring sights are adjustable enough to make the adapters really useful for distance shooting. I can even shoot primer-powered .38 and .45 cal wax bullets for quiet practice, or the primer-powered Aquila Colibri .22 rimfire rounds. A dime will cover the group shot with these Colibri rounds at 20 yards, and they are about as quiet as many airguns.
Bought a bunch of 45 acp ammo for a gun that ended up being out of stock. Decided to buy one of these instead of another firearm. Great for a bug out bag..

I think spending $350 for this assortment of 7" 12ga caliber adapters is more than worth it! $350 is not chump change, but if you can afford it, you can shoot all kinds of scrounged or leftover ammo! WAY COOL!!!
Perfect apocalypse gun, sawed off over-under/single shot for accuracy (line of sight over the bore instead of off center of both bores) with this kit. Might not be as quick as dedicated guns, but pick your shots wisely and you'll virtually never run out of ammo (unless you're scrounging a snowflake stronghold).

Whilst its a novel idea, I'd spend the money on buying a stockpile of ammo for an existing shotgun/rifle I already have set up and sighted in. In a survival situation where one missed shot could mean the difference of eating or starving I'd much rather put my faith in a specific round/cartridge for my gun that I KNOW is gonna hit where I am aiming and I KNOW can reach out and knock down my target. Would this make a nice addition to already having a stockpile of ammo for my shotgun/rifle? Possibly. But I'd still rather spend the money on extra ammo for my guns that I KNOW works.

Better to have a rebounding hammer design when leaving a loaded gun in a house with no children. Others keep shells within reach of the gun. Pump Guns are safe until cycled, that's why they rule!
Will these sleeves fit into a 2 3/4 chambered double barrel?
Grate video!
Whats missing is the 22LR adapter.
Well at work with a nomad 12 gauge turkey gun with screw in choke
DO THEY MAKE IT FOR RIFE? LIKE 308, 30-06, 7MM, 270 AND 300WIN SO ON AND SO ON?
mickey HER the company that made x caliber developed two rifle caliber adapters (556 and 762.39) but they didn't produce them. Not sure why.
@@joeldenney1135 Some Rifle Cal adaptors will blow the firing pin out of some older 12 ga's.
Anyone able to find these (or other brands) during the 2020-21 Gun Run?
I may have missed it. Are these rifled? I have seen ones that are not and the rounds merely tumble and are not accurate.
+Mr. Scott Ursiny yes, rifled
I couldn’t find this set how about a link???
I'm guessing these only work for break actions right?
What happened to hoffmanfirearmsdotcom?
Would this work with the Chiappa Triple Threat?
+Aaron Gil yes
+Lee Harvey Oswald funny you should ask. We have a ton of full auto stuff coming. The video has already been shot. Look for it in a few weeks
