Interestingly, all actors are playing the Black 2 White 2 version of Ghetsis, the crazed vengeful Team Plasma ruler.
In the anime English dub, he is played by Bill Rogers. I’m not a fan of his slimy, croaky ‘Palpatine’ esque-voice personally, it sounds really cartoony and it sucks a layer or two out of the character. That said, Rogers does a decent job I guess but it makes me wonder why they couldn’t get an actor who has a throaty voice type, as he sounds kind of forced here. It’s not the worst main villain voice I’ve heard in the anime English dub, but disappointing for sure.
In Generations, Ghetsis is played by Patrick Seitz, and right away his smoother, booming voice fits the character way better. His performance gets across Ghetsis’ arrogant, megalomaniacal and unstable aspects pretty well, and I can definitely see Seitz playing the more manipulative ruler from Black and White. Overall Patrick Seitz does a pretty good job, and is another standout in the Generations dub.
In Masters, Ghetsis is payed by an unknown actor, and he definitely has the voice type for what I had in mind. He sounds cunning and sophisticated, which while fitting for the Black and White version of Ghetsis... isn’t so fitting for this Ghetsis. He lacks a menacing unstable quality for me, which makes me wish his original portrayal got more attention outside of the original Black and White game.
I’m giving the win to Patrick Seitz as the definitive voice for Ghetsis!

I also prefer Patrick Seitz's take. I liked keeping in mind that he was at once attempting to be viewed as a good guy, and Seitz's voice best accommodates that.

I can confirm, Seitz is amazing at playing manipulative characters. If anyone else here has watched Jojo’s English dub… you would know. You would absolutely know. He would nail Ghetsis in the OG games.
If Seitz' voice was a bit more DERANGED and dictator-like, it'd be exactly how I read his lines in the games.

Well i mean both of them are up there on the evil scale.
Funny fact: in the Japanese, Takehito Koyasu (DIO's seiyuu) was also Ghetsis' seiyuu in Generations. So now, Ghetsis is a Jojo reference 😁

Patrick Seitz is perfect.
He fits in every and each character he has done (best ones for myself are Scorpion, Dracula and of course DIO)

He’s also Urien in street fighter 5. And this is the same guy who also voices Brock, which goes to show you that this guy is a talented VA
Mick Wingert is the voice of the Ghetsis in Pokemon Masters!
The only proof that has been given to Mick Wingert voicing Ghetsis as of now is via his IMDB page, which is essentially a wiki that anyone with the know how can add information to. Until we see official credits or confirmation (e.g. Wingert's Twitter page or game credits), we cannot officially say for sure who is the voice of Ghetsis in Pokemon Masters at this time.
@@joenovavoices2122 Mick can't seem to recall voicing Ghetsis, but until we identify the soundalike, there doesn't seem to be any other VA who's worked with Bang Zoom with the same quality and vocal range that Ghetsis displays.
Crediting a voice actor as a character based on a Twitter like and for ‘sounding familiar’ is still pretty insufficient evidence. Voice actors have been mis-credited in roles in the past before, even on professional research sites, such as BTVA. Happens quite often, actually. Most of the time, these clear-ups usually get resolved for good, but for the time being, the UVA stays. Besides, Bang Zoom has a huge talent roster, and there are plenty of voice actors who can hit a similar vocal range (albeit, maybe not as vast) to Wingert’s. Adin Rudd as Archie for example.
@@joenovavoices2122 While I won't rule out some kind of shenanigans going on w/ Mick Wingert (EDIT: in fact, I *highly* suspect it), until the matter is definitively settled the online credit should remain as "Unknown VA".

I still wish they had gotten Clancy Brown to voice Ghetsis, especially using the same voice he did for Long Feng in Avatar or Cortex in Crash Bandicoot 2.
With that said, I think Patrick is pretty decent out of the three voices.
I think J.K Simmons would’ve nailed the role of Ghetsis I mean look at how well he voices Omni-Man

I was just disappointed how he sound in the anime. I wish they had someone like J.K. Simmons for Ghetsis. That is what I would expect from Ghetsis.
