This was the first battle I actually struggled in this game. I was so close to losing cuz I rushed my video that I made for this and wasn't prepared for this battle at all. My team is basically the same team except that I replaced Watchdog with Zekrom for N and Ghetsis's battle. The main pokemon I struggled was that Hydreigon. That pokemon knocked out my entire team except for Zekrom and Samurott on my second try (I admit it. I actually lost to him once, but never again). I was sweating while battling him. Most of my team was between level 50 and level 52. Also, Ghetsis had a very creepy face at 1:34.
There may be people who didn't get traumatised from Cynthias Gachomp... but those people might have gotten their trauma finally then when they met ghetsis nice little 3 headed dragon boy
At least I was more prepared for that dragon in the sequel and almost one-shoted that pokemon with Stoutland. The dragon killed himself afterwards and took my pokemon down with it. In ultra sun and moon, I one-shoted it with my fairy pokemon. That Hydregon got nerfed in that game.
My team is: Sammurot, Zebstrika, Scolipede, Darmanitan, Archeops, Beheeyem (replaced by reshiram for final battle brought back in for postgame) Edit: thanks for the heart mixeli I've never had one before!
@@jxnintendo4483 Thanks it's my favorite legendary(I also have a mcdonalds toy of zekrom). And I'm still thinking of what my next team will be but it's gonna be a while before I start a new playthrough cuz Sword and Shield is just on the horizon and I know I will be spending alot of time in those games Edit: I forgot to ask what's your team?
I played Black 1 not too long ago. At the Ghetsis battle, my team was Voldemort the Serperior, Battra the Volcarona, Siren the Swanna, Morlock the Garbodor, Zaku the Golurk, and Karai the Bisharp. I think I remember getting a Quiver Dance sweep, but that might have only been against Alder. I will say, Garbodor is very underrated. If I'd remembered the Battle Subway has the Choice Band, I'd have had half a mind to go get it just for Morlock. I definitely recall there were a few times when his Gunk Shot damage _would have been_ high enough to one-shot some stuff with a Choice Band. With that Weak Armor buff in later generations, I look forward to transferring him up to Shield.
I forgot how amazing the audio is in this game. The soundtracks, the pokemon cries, certain moves, that sound it makes when a heavy pokemon is sent into battle.
I distinctly remember building a Scrafty STRICTLY for this fight. I taught it Dragon Dance to increase both Speed/Attack (Egg move), and gave it Dragon Claw as well. The strat was during the Cofagrigus start, just start with Dragon Dance since it doesn't do anything but Protect anyways. Even if it tries to Poison me, Scrafty also gets Shed Skin. Afterwards, I should have enough Speed to outspeed Hydreigon, and if Hi Jump Kick lands, then that takes care of the hardest part of the fight. Also, Scrafty has high Defense/Sp. Defense stats, so that gives me a bit of tank to work with. A bit of work to accomplish, but wound up being good.
Man i love my first team for this one, Sammurot, Lilligant from the trade in the early game, Scrafty that at the time was the only dark and fighting type and was super fun to use when there was no fairys, Archeops, Golurk was fun to use, looks cool plus can use fly! And that gift Volcarona that was super boring to evolve before the pos game but i di'it!
Uuuuuugh. I went into this battle completely underleveled, and had to spam Hyper Potions and save states like crazy. But I think I had more trouble with his Seismitoad than his Hydreigon.
Remind me: does Ghetsis carry a weapon in his cane? He looks like the type who would. Most likely a sword, but I can imagine him being brutal and sneaky enough to conceal a gun.
I think Ghetsis’ cane was exclusive to black/white 2, and I know he had some weird contraption in it where he prevented you capturing the legendary he attacks you with. I certainly wouldn’t put it past him to attack someone with it.
Reds Snorlax, Stevens Metagross, Cynthias Garchomp, and Ghetsis Hydreigon, that are some of the most scary Pokemon in the Games history. He himselfe is not to fare of on Cynthias level of Difficulty.
It would've been cool if Ghetsis decided to try to kill the player, but then at the last second the player's legendary (either Reshiram or Zekrom) quickly comes out of its Pokéball and takes the hit, and then the battle begins. Like what happens in Black and White 2.
In answer to the question asked in the description, I used Crustle. It doesn't make for a very interesting story since the battle was rather one-sided in my favor. I was practically running a single Crustle for every challenge late in the story since Sturdy + Shell Smash gave it too much of an advantage against NPCs. I actually had a harder time with N simply because the Earthquake TM was blocked off and Crustle couldn't hit Klinklang with anything at that point in the story (since Knock Off was still resisted by Steel in gen V).

Not just you, and the way Hydreigon looks made this battle even scarier
Ughh! His Bouffalant!!!
Unown Virtuosi yea of course just like Miltank!
You mean the Hydreigon.
Even my Lucario fainted because of that single pokemon
Half of my team, rather
@KleiGaminPH Whitney is ez to defeat. I have no idea how you lost
*Laughs in Scrafty*
Ah, the times when I thought my mienshao would outspeed hydreigon...
And then gets ohko'd
not surprising since this hydreigon was made to outspeed everything that could dent it without EV investment.
@@archivedtohellwawa My Mienshao actually outsped it ...
BUT MISSED A JUMP KICK!
I still admire your videos very much n.n
I must say Unfezant have some pretty shiny colors.
Great vid dude!
3:32 the whole plasma choir just starts screaming when they see a bird fly
My team is: Sammurot, Zebstrika, Scolipede, Darmanitan, Archeops, Beheeyem (replaced by reshiram for final battle brought back in for postgame)
Edit: thanks for the heart mixeli I've never had one before!
GREAT TEAM
My Team Was:
Samurott
Hydreigon
Chandelure
Eelektross
Krookodile
Archeops.
Then I Replaced Chandelure With Reshiram.
@@jxnintendo4483 thanks it's the first of many planned favorite team playthroughs
@@Hogglefath DONT WORRY YOUR TEAM ITS SAME FOR MI TEAM I LIKE MUCH HYDREIGON AN SAMUROTT I LIKE YOUR ZEKROM PHOTO
@@jxnintendo4483 Thanks it's my favorite legendary(I also have a mcdonalds toy of zekrom). And I'm still thinking of what my next team will be but it's gonna be a while before I start a new playthrough cuz Sword and Shield is just on the horizon and I know I will be spending alot of time in those games
Edit: I forgot to ask what's your team?
Bw2 : ghetsis is challenging, but really easy
Bw1 : DENNIS! WILL KILL YOU WITH A BALL OF TENNIS!
I forgot how amazing the audio is in this game. The soundtracks, the pokemon cries, certain moves, that sound it makes when a heavy pokemon is sent into battle.
DEEEEEENNNNNIIIIIIISSSSSS
DEEEEEEEEEEEENNISSSSSSSSSSSS
GHEEEEEEEETSIIIIIIIS
LETTUUUUUCEE
Nice shiny Unfezant, really beautiful shiny.
I lost to Ghetsis so much like omg I cried. But then after I cried I tried again and did it!
I need to replay this game. I'll never know the true difficulty of this without my Gothitelle
Yeah I did a playthrough and decided to start with emboar other than samurott and his seismetoad was hell to deal with
His seismitoad was ez cuz of my serperior
4 days and 7 years before my favorite game came out this is my second favorite game coincidence I think not
Man Ghetsis was so damn hard. It took me like 12 tries to beat him. Not to mention I had to battle N again every time I lost.
0:04 perfect theme for troll.
Fun fact his infamous Hydriegon is intentionally set to the minimum happiness value
Sawk is the only Unova's pokemon that can beat Hydreigon easily. Sturdy and close combat. Sawk is one of the most underrated pokemon ever...
i used sawk because this was my first game and damn, he beat most of Ghetsis's Team.
still was a close match though.
Same with mienshao, it outspeeds.
If you listen closely near the beginning you can kinda hear part of gehtsis theme in BW2
When Hydreigon came out, you know the battle was over before it even started mate, that Pokémon ended many trainer's adventures
His pokemon movepools are the biggest "fuck off" In the game, especially this Hydreigon
I certainly wouldn’t put it past him to attack someone with it.
bold of you to assume he isn't demented enough to just bludgeon you to death with it.
@@Calaverez In the manga he massacrates N with his cane
Awesome video bro keep this appreciate work
Reds Snorlax, Stevens Metagross, Cynthias Garchomp, and Ghetsis Hydreigon, that are some of the most scary Pokemon in the Games history.
He himselfe is not to fare of on Cynthias level of Difficulty.
Forget Stevens Cradily
You could have added Cynthia's Milotic too (maybe even her entire team after BDSP).
Also, Clay's Excadrill and Winona's Altaria.
@@rivlen681 I had more problems against Cradily than Metagross lol
@@nishant9289 You struggled whit her Altaria? I saw her alyways as a free win.
@@nishant9289 His true second in Command certainly.
I wanna see Cynthia vs Ghetsis
I forget Ghetsis robe made him chubby so I instantly said “Yo Ghetsis is kinda dummy thicc”
It would've been cool if Ghetsis decided to try to kill the player, but then at the last second the player's legendary (either Reshiram or Zekrom) quickly comes out of its Pokéball and takes the hit, and then the battle begins. Like what happens in Black and White 2.
I remember the 1st time I fought him. The music. The tension. The Hydreigon. I somehow managed to beat him on my 1st try. But just barely...
This makes me wanna replay the game all over again!
The music of this battle is INSANE
That was the biggest Pokémon battle of my life.
This is the most evil antagonist in Pokemon History.
One of the best plot twists ever
NOTE: use thunder wave in the Hydreigon, its speed os one of his greatest strengts, without it, is much more handible.
One question I like how getsis has a totally appropriately leveled hydrogien
I love your videos 😊 they help me a lot
This one Battle made me run a Hydreigon. He's kinda cute.
It's like the devil himself dragged you into his domain, ready to give you eternal penance.
oh my god the silence when the hydregion fainted your samurott :(
In answer to the question asked in the description, I used Crustle.

My original squad was Zebstrika, Lilligant, Samurott, Ferrothorn, Musharna and Archeops, with my GIRL Ferrothorn being the MVP by far (although Lilligant was also really good, chunking big resistances with a 4x Sp. Atk Petal Dance seldom gets old).
Good job. Cool shiny Unfezant
Would've been brutal but imagine if your team wasn't healed for this fight. Ghetsis was planning to overtake an exhausted N after all.
I’ve Always feared his hydreigon back in my playthrough and that’s when I had Victini on my team 😰
Ghetsis vs Cynthia. A battle I'd love to see.
Cynthia EZ Win
No one gonna say that this dude is so lucky with them crits it's CRAZY?!
Well one of his pokemon does likely have Super Luck (the shiny bird) but yeah that first crit was super lucky
Took 3 times to beat this man. FINALLY got through his hydregion because of dragon breath paralyze clutch with reshiram
