Everyone can use them, making them fair, but its not something that you can use at will, making them balanced, every single sorcerer and curse can deliver a black flash at any given moment, any character can tilt the scale with the same extremely powerful move, what other manga can say the same?
It's an equaliser because it allows weaker sorcerers to beat stronger ones. For the weaker party, it gives them a CHANCE of winning, whereas for the stronger one it is redundant since they can already win without it.
I actually think that Todo's cursed technique is built for Black Flash very well, as the precision, timing and awareness of the entire battlefield that the user has to display to effectively use it, especially on such a high level as it is demonstrated by him, has to be leagues above most conventional skills. Now it is obvious that it doesn't synergize with the concept of Black Flash as well as Nanami's technique for example, I'm definetly not going to debate that, but it clearly sits just a step below the abilities of the others that used Black Flash, and Gojo's genes i guess, that man was born a chad.
It's like a "just frame" in Tekken. By inputting a move with really good timing (close to "frame perfect" or 1/60th of a second), you can get a special version with enhanced properties. The most famous is the "Electric Wind God Fist" which can lock down a lot of characters if performed consecutively, since it can lead to a combo doing half a character's health on hit, and stuns the opponent on block. At a high level these types of moves are almost essential, but it's next to impossible to throw them out 100% of the time.
Gojo being able to use the black flash sounds like a nightmare. He's already broken enough. I have a theory that there's gonna be a sorcerer from the golden era who can use black flash at will.

Hell if utahime could throw a punch and time the flow right or get SUPER lucky even she could do a BF regardless of her CT type
10:46 I thought that, since Megumi isn't like the average shikigami user (because he mixes himself in the fight with his shikigamis), he would be able to perform a black flash in a similar fashion as Yuuji or Nanami, since he has to control his cursed energy alongside his shikigamis. With a lot of luck involved of course.
The Black Flash and it's usage for most of the story has been more tied to Yuji, even though he is not the only one that can use it. I believe that as the story progresses, achieving that hyper focus/zen/flow state and getting a Black Flash in becomes more difficult in these fights, as the opponents and situation become more dangerous and chaotic. If you think about it, after the Shibuya Arc, we have dealt with a lot of Maki (her not having any cursed energy means she can never perform a Black Flash) and the Culling Game, where it's chaos and people fighting with a mix of techniques and shikigami that make it really hard to ''get a crit in''. However, now that everything basically stopped to focus on Gojo VS Sukuna, i wouldn't be surprised to see one of them (or both) getting a Black Flash in. However, a Black Flash coming from either of them would probably be so devastating that the author is holding on it a bit, since it could pretty much decide the whole fight.
My headcanon is that Gojo used Black Flash as a child when playing with his cursed technique. Most likely trying to perform Red after Blue against a curse, but fired off the cursed energy improperly and resulted in that spark. It’s probably why in the future he tried blasting the bag-head cursed user to preform Red before he truly could.
if someone on jjk universe have a curse technique that controls time, then can they manipulate time and apply their cursed energy within one-millionth of a second to perform black flash at will?
Gojo would hold the record if he wanted to, and he could release it to its most max form. Since his broken ass eyes givehim both nearly perfect control and near limitless amounts of curse energy.
He could have just explained that black flash was what was used to measure what the units of cursed energy in a mathematical sense where a someone of 1 cursed unergy who used it was unable to increase their power output
I don't know if these are related, but I remember you tweeting asking what a crit is like out side of a game and I commented that black flash/divergent fist is like a crit and you liked the tweet.
Here’s a good explanation on how exponential is the increase of damage from a black flash. Since it’s always 2.5, you need the basic understanding of exponents(which is easy), since exponents is better/more potent than multiplication. The average human’s punch, low balling is 60 PSI. By applying 2.5/2 to the 5th power. It equals 27,885.5 PSI. That’s pretty fucking powerful, like that’s 3x the power of a tiger swiping its paw at someone, but apply this to a boxer who can dish out up to 770 Psi apply it with 2.5 you get 16,452,307 PSI. That’s way over 100,000 tons and than-some, and yuji’s natural strength probably goes past 770 PSI.

Maybe the exponent can be 10 with such a move. Though the pronunciation is "Yomi" in Japanese, or just "Mi" in Chinese. Mi-sen just sounds like Mise en place which is meh and Yomisen doesn't roll off the tongue.
2:00 that’s not a Critical
That’s a Clean Hit FATAL Critical!
XD
I watched this after the most recent chapter so when he said Mai would achieve a blackflash I laughed.

Oh no no no no look at this dude
Wait a gremlin is a measurement of power? This scares me
Char's zaku isn't a powerup or a special move, its just a zaku 2 commander type used by char.
When he used the Zaku I in Origin against the federation Fleet, he decided to basically overclock his engine so he can reach the "3 times faster" speed, so its more of a... "Limit Break" kind of thing.
Idk if his Zaku II Commander type is customized to have a more powerful booster or he does what he did when he used Zaku I
Looks like a similar concept to conquerers Haki coating
The comment about Mai and Yuki didn't age well...
Mahito also used black flash once right?
whats the name of the mangaka you mention I'm interested
11:00 little did he know.
Yuta used black flash too right?
In a world where you can literally crit, wouldn't it make sense for people to carry around a stop watch in a fight?
