Hey Brother, glad you were stoked with the goodies box, just a way to support your amazing channel. Thanks for the shout out!! Cant wait to get my UL-19!
Oh yea, your gonna love the Ul-19 I promise you that! I'm hooked on mine I can't stop tinkering with it as you can see. Thanks again for all the support, it definitely helps.
Just bought my first pro boat. So beautiful
The ul19 is my favorite looking proboat
Took mine for its first float today. it's pretty looking thing flying across the river. especially in the black water.
After 1 or 2 minutes in the water on 6s at half throttle you won't get any overheating issues. Problems will come at full throttle and over 4 or 5 mins run times. If you use lower kV motor ( 1650-1800kvs) and bigger propeller you will get what you've been wanting, higher top speeds and lower temps. You'll see. Enjoy
I'm getting there, I've fried enough electronics to know when I put new gear/electronics in a boat to take it easy until I trust my work. 😆
Just ordered mine 3 days ago and dual water pick up rudder and 150amp esc, after seeing this can't wait for the mailman
Oh man your gonna love it brother! And the 150a ose yes sir it's gonna scream 😱
Big B !!! I love all your videos and especially the info and upgrades on the UL19 and Sonicwake, I have to ask after going through some issues on my UL with the shaft skipping and not tightening… what’s your favorite all around prop for the boat?? Should I just super cool it and stay with the stock one ??
Thanks and can’t wait to see more videos !!
Oxidean red 42mm high rake prop
As for the shaft skipping I'd get an octura 5mm to .150 coupler
Man your videos are awesome dude!
Currently building my own catamaran and you have been a tremendous help!!
The boat is a animal once it’s dialed in.
Awesome video on the boat man. 👍👍👍
Thanks brother! Yea man trying something different, why not ya know
Man I wish you were in Michigan, I’m about to install a new stuffing tube into my UL19, pretty nervous to do it. Wish you were my neighbor and I could just drop on by lol. I’ll keep ya posted on about how it goes. Hands down best RC RUclips channel out.
Wish I could help brother, it's fairly straight forward INSTALL, bending the tube is the most important part, if you get the bend right in the right place it's all down hill after that. BUILD IT IRONCLAD
@@IRONCLADRC I kept the old one that I took out to use it for the same bend. What’s a good prop to run on the UL19? I have the OSE 150amp ESC too. I just bought the 438 for the blackjack 24, seen that you said it’s your favorite prop for that boat. Also put the dynamite 120 ESC from the UL19 into the blackjack and gonna run 4s with the 438. Love all the videos you make. Makes my build soo much easier. You’re the man.
For speed 1616 ABC for cool Temps oxidean 42 high rake (red prop) there basically the same props but very different in performance
@@IRONCLADRC well everything went smooth, running good. Started to tune it in, ran it 3 times, boat stopped in the middle of my pond. ESC is just beeping now…
Great video Big B. I have wondered about putting trim tabs on a catamaran, would you recommend installing them on the Veles29? That was a great goodie box from Mark’s boat worx I will go check him out. Also I recently installed the OSE style 150 amp esc in the Veles . I had the 120 amp in it before and the upgrade was a noticeable difference. It was not only faster , but it also ran much cooler
To be honest I think the Velez can be tuned with weight and strut positioning. The m41 and blackjack need trimtabs due to there plastic hulls having some flex.. I'm sure trim tabs would help, personally I wouldn't recommend them for the veles
@@IRONCLADRC I’m picking up what you are putting down
got my ul kickin thanks brother
Looking great. My ul 19 just puffed another spektrum 2s 5000mah 100c battery.
Stock boat, extra cooling prop is octura x442 1.4 pitch, balanced. Hit 63 today. Temp was 140 on caps! Every thing else 120 F.
Do I need a different prop??
That prop should be okay for the boat. Battery's usually puff because of a fast discharge rate .. could be your driving style? Full trigger pegged out the full run will definitely puff a battery
What prop are you using on your boat ? I hit 57mph with the ose 4214 prop and 150amp esc. I ran out of space. Keep in mind I was using a GoPro for gps so that may be off.
P.S. I’m so glad you got this boat.
I had a 1.7x1.6 prop on it stock prop
Great video..Boat we want one too for running at our Camping resort pond ...many GODS prayers😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ur rap got you a sub lol kinda a weird design no? does it stay stable or hard to drive?
Thanks. She's stable especially with a curved turn fin on it
Epic video. Great information, what run time are you getting with those batteries and the upgrades?
I'd say 8-12 min give or take i liked the performance from The spectrum smart packs . It was the first outing with those packs too. Impressive
Sweet run! Sounds ur not getting 2000kv out. What prop u running? Keep up the great work and vids.
Stock prop sharpened & balanced
Big B. I need something to check my batteries between runs, I use all spektrum 2s and 3s batterys. What did I see tou using in this video, thise are spektrum batteries right???
Here's the one I use it's cheap 799 for 2

I figured it was me, lol, I am heavy on the gas, second one. Guess I'll have to run for 2 minutes, then slow down to 50% for 2 minutes, and see howvitclookscforctemps.
Does this boat not need turn fins on both sides? Or could it have fins on both sides? Two fins would obviously have more drag, but it might turn sharper (?).
You can put 2 turn fins on any hydroplane and yes sir she'll turn better both ways. But like you mentioned drag is the issue
Oh also Thank you for you innovative inspiration ❤️ 😘 💖 💕 🙏 💙 ❤️ 😘 💖 💕 🙏 💙 ❤️
My pleasure 😊
Those are the same battery’s I use on my faster boats💪👍
I just picked up a ul 19. What kind of lipos do you run and compatible charger? I have a traxxas spartan with traxxas 5s battery's and the traxxas charger but can't use the batteries on the ul19. Is there an adapter I can use for the traxxas batteries? I'm new to the rc world by the way.
5000mah 2s 50 or 100c spektrum battery's should suit the boat best for 4s operation. There's a guy on ebay that sells traxxas/ec5 adapters so you could run your traxxas battery's in the boat aswell
Here's a 4s spektrum dmart bundle www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=cl&merchant_id=953aec29-878e-4306-b620-2df85883455e&website_id=70256520-69d3-496b-a06d-cfbf9af7a81d&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.horizonhobby.com%2Fhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.horizonhobby.com%2Fproduct%2Fsmart-powerstage-bundle-4s%2FSPMXPS4.html
Brass screw in place of the plastic and you can get higher speeds without loosing your steering and will still sheer off if you hit something👍
I've tried brass, I actually like bras over plastic, brass breaks easy too I noticed. The plastic antenna tube is fairly tough
Big B, I changed the settings on the ul19, timing is now 0 degrees, and 3.4 LVC.
Is it physically possible for it to run faster! Tgus thing is floating now, 4s and my Temps where 175, all over the place, timing?
Should I go back to factory timing?
Battery cut off, rudder still worked motor did not turn!!
I'll let it cool and see if I burned out motor????
Possibly desoldered a wire coming out the motor. Or the esc is fried. Plug in a battery and move the wires around coming out the motor if there's erratic sound coming from the Motor then the wires desoldered if all the wires look OK then it's Possibly the esc. Replace with a ose 150. Great setup or a spektrum firma 160
@@IRONCLADRC just ordered a motor. Sounds like rocks inside when it turns.
Bro, love the channel! Your knowledge is crazy. I recently picked up a sonic wake v2, and was wondering what type of upgraded prop you recommend for gaining a few mph on the water? Thanks in advance! Keep up the Fanta work bro!
The oxidean Marine 4519 has been a solid prop on the boat
@@IRONCLADRC Awesome!! Thanks for the info. I just shot my order out, and will be trying it out next weekend!! Thanks again bro!
Those RC Boat Bitz trim tabs look like they're for the Sonic Wake. Cats shouldn't require trim tabs but what do I know :) I have that same motor in my Sonic Wake along with a FlySky 150 - great combo but some grinding is needed to make the motor fit on the motor mount. Not sure if it is a drop-in affair with the UL-19. It just might be, but if it isn't, I'm sure it could be shoehorned into the boat. So many vids on the UL-19 that I'm tempted to pick one up - just got to sell one of my other hulls to keep the wifey happy. Nice vide Big "B"!
I agree 100% with the no trim tabs on a catamaran, that's why I blueprinted the hull. I've seen guys with the bj42 running trimtabs and they really do help that hull. I'm gonna have some sonicwake tuning vids coming soon I promise. 🤪 the UL-19 is so much fun to tinker with I'm loving it, I can't get my mind off of it. I actually thought the same thing putting the B-bitz TT on the sonic wake but the trimtab base is really tall and would block the flood chamber exist 😐 i thought the same thing
I'm about to start modifications to fit the 4074 in the sonicwake. Quick question? Is the front motor support for the 36 series motor solid plastic or honeycomb/hollow? I'm gonna enlarge the front support, curious as to what I'm getting myself into.
@@IRONCLADRC Yeah, couldn't get a good look at the trim tabs because they're inside the bag and the label didn't say what boat they were designed for. RC Boat Bitz does offer adjustable trim tabs for the SonicWake, but they look heavy in contrast to the OSE offering. I have the OSE trim tabs on my Sonic and I love them! They basically bolt on to the stock trim tabs which is cool. That 4074 motor has some serious go power - much faster than the stock Dynamite 4-pole motor. I've heard mixed responses on the SSS motors, but I've never had one fail and I have at least three of them including one in my Armma Limitless that hits 80 plus MPH on 6S with extremely moderate gearing.
@@IRONCLADRC The motor support is honeycomb (semi-hollow). I actually deleted it after installing the 4074. The motor feels solid enough secured to the plastic motor mount alone. I've ran the boat probably a half dozen times with the 4074 motor and a 4216 3-blade prop with no issues. The boat is easily 15 mph faster with the 4074 motor, 3 blade prop and PowerHobby 6S 100C pack. I do wish, however, that OSE or RC Boat Bits would offer an aluminum motor mount for the SonicWake and UL-19.
Thanks again brother. Yea I kinda figured it would be honeycomb to reduce weight & material.. oh man I'm excited to get that bad boy in the boat. Boat Gang 😆
Awesome vids…I have a question for ya…I have a blackjack 29 with OSE 150 ESC 1900kv motor with Octura 5mm shaft .187 cable size and was wondering what would be a good prop on 6s…built the boat but came with the prop and it’s a good one but I bent it and it’s made of the metal that’s bad for ya if u breathe it in when grinding but not sure of the size..any help would be greatly appreciated
If it's a copper/ beryllium prop yes it's not good for you. (Gold copper color props wear ppe) aluminum props are not hazards to your health.
@@IRONCLADRC so what pitch and diameter do you think the octura that came on it is like 40-42mm but don’t know the pitch
Id try a octura 637 or m440 for cool Temps, tfl 440 & or tfl 443 would be a good option as well. Maybe pushing it to say a octura 642 cut down & tongs removed
@@IRONCLADRC ok hey I appreciate the advice …I know that it’s a pain to figure out the right pitch and diameter for props cuz I have an 18’ bayliner and unless you have a tach and know what the optimum rpm is it’s almost impossible to get the right prop…so many choices ..what I know is the prop I trashed ran great and it’s 42mm and I’m guessing a 6 pitch…is that more aggressive than a 4?
Yes 1.6p has more pitch than a 1.4p. The 1.6p will have a better top end than a 1.4p. Most of the time. 1.4 low end 1.6-1.8p topend
I like you a lot bro watching your videos.I will learn a lot from you bro 👍❤️ Thank you 🙏
Hey brother hoping you could give me a hand with the raider 150 on this boat. Using 2x 3S gens ace batteries. I keep getting continuous beeps, but steering works. Just playing around with the Red Yellow and Blue motor wires in different configurations connected to the ESC to see if it changes- but nothing. Throttle trim is neutral. Some configurations of the 3 motor wires have a lower pitch beep than others though. Trying to be as descriptive as possible here. Thanks in advance.
Before you plug battery in hold full trigger (make sure throttle trims are at zero) hold full trigger then plug battery Into esc, keep holding full trigger for 3 to 4 seconds till you hear a couple quick beeps let go of full trigger. Should be ready to go
@@IRONCLADRC damn you’re the man, it worked. Got the right sequence for the wires for the correct spinning direction. Just no reverse now though
@@IRONCLADRC never mind actually got it thanks again
Stupid question. If I order the OSE 150 AMP ESC is it with the EC5 connectors that I need for the UL-19?
I'm pretty sure. I think he has 2 different options available for the 150 raider
Thank you sir
Uuuuu, I am curious to look this boat with SSS 4074 soon. Bye man from Italy
Me to brother, hopefully it's not to much weight in the boat. THANKS FOR WATCHING
@@IRONCLADRC I think that 4074 have enough watts to win its weight.. It seems to me that it is a 2200 2400 watt motor and it should withstand 7s lipo. With 150a esc and 6s you can run around 90/100 km / h.
I will be running a Leopard 4082 2200kv on the Rico 31 inch boat... and most likely a SSS 4092, 1400kv on the deltaforce 38 on 8s
I think the Deltaforce 35 will fly on that motor with 6s and 180A Hobbywing ;)
I know right. Im Gonna throw it in the UL-19 for a while then we will try it in the Deltaforce 35 later on.
MAn your Deltaforce Is gonna scream with a 1400kv and big props. 😳
@@IRONCLADRC thats what i am aiming for ;) But i am looking around 100 km/h on the Rico aswell on 6s
100kph & no smoke c'mon You will get it brother. That higher kv will get you there, your on the right track... I'm ordering a ztw 220 for the Deltaforce 35. Hopefully the boss lady will alow it. 😆
lets see at summer time, still cold here in Norway (around 0c at mornings) and build is not done yet, so need to get at it soon
It be interesting to extend the prop shaft and put 5/8" wide curved foils one from side to side òn Bow &STERN OF HYDROPLANES...WE WERE willing to try this theory .same principle as in those fast multiple hulls AMERCAN SAILING CUP ⛵️ SAILBOATS
Sweet!
Partway through the video, will edit this comment as necessary. I like the "Boat Gang" rap.... Typical Big B smile material. Your rod is in tension when turning right so flex isn't an issue. In a left turn, the rod is in compression and can flex, but..... Who on earth gives a hydro full left at full speed? Oh, OK, other than my friend Wayne, that is..... 🙄 Continuing viewing now... Uhhhh.... Just got to the part where you figured that out...... Continuing again..... I like the antenna tube sacrificial bolt in the rudder!👍
I may order a 3mm CF rod to replace the 2.5mm CF rod? Personally I think it will be fine. Like you said who needs a left hander with a hydroplane! 😆 saved quit a bit of weight with the CF rod every little bit helps.
Put that 4074 in the Sonicwake with a OSE Raider 150, I don't think the stock Dynamite 120 would live long behind it, lol.
G-man recommend that as well. The 6pole UL-19 motor seemed to be sufficient with the 150a ose. Yea man maybe I will throw the 4074 in the sonic wake. I've gotta do some modifications.
IN A BODY SHOP RUNNING CROUKED IS CALLED DOG TRACKING. I NOTIST THAT THE UL WAS RIDING MORE SO ON THE TRANSOM . YOU SAID IT SHOULD RIDE MORE ON THE SPONSONS. IS THAT A CORRECTION YOU WILL MAKE IN THE FUTURE?
Thanks. I will reme.ber that dog tracking. And yes sir I will correct the low ride on the stern
Put the 4074 in the mini sniper Big B . Thats ironcad 😁
Lol.
HALLO Big C. Ironclad. . !!,it ,is always good videos ,YOU make.
I learn .All ABOUT boat ,from your work. Video. If ,nobody ,didn't,do what, you're ,showing. How cut ,I / elsewhere learn. So thanks, for all the ,things you show. PS, do you ,no .the new black and yellow, it have a hole. Like snowflake . I think it is ,upgrade hardware. 4s . Please if ,You no it please tall me what you mean.ok. Big C .Mvh Rene' Pedersen.Danmark'. Yes Danmark.
Dude the best way to save weight on this boat is to take that heavy ass plastic out and put the carbon fiber trays in.flex in the steering is not good at 50plus mph
I've been looking at a couple different carbonfiber trays thanks
Any idea why they decided to discontinue this model?
No clue
@@IRONCLADRC :( it is sad, I hope I will still be able top get parts or a hull if I break mine.
