    yep it worked out fine i was surprised after made my ch i folded it in half and put a marker so that way i knew where my big cluster went & surprisingly i still had 10 groups. i did it in 3 because you had us dc in every 3rd. thank you. i also added more rows for the bigger children

      Great! Happy 4 U it worked out great. The only thing I do is just giving examples of how you could make something. It's fantastic you used the pattern to create your own. I love that. X

    I am so pleased to see such a pretty and delightful pattern. This is a wonderful prototype, so adaptable to many different sizes and even yarns! Thanks to the person who posted "Use multiples of 6", plus the next video by Siem which gives the measurements of the chaining for each size. I also finally understood that there is a 3DC, CH2, 3DC in the same space at each "end" of the round. That gives the poncho a lovely shape. So, it is mirrored: Working in the round, you have a 3DC, CH2, 3DC at the beginning, then just plain 3DC groups (skip 2 chains in between each) until you reach the middle of the chain, and then you create another 3DC, CH2, 3DC in the middle, in the same space, and then continue on doing groups of 3DC until you return to the original group of 3DC, CH2, 3DC. I worked out multiples of 6 for different sizes: 54, 60, 66, 72, 78, 84, 90, 96, 102, 108, 114, 120, 126, 132. This is for the starting chain, and so one could potentially use a finer or thicker yarn. Just be sure to check the next video by Siem where it is explained what the length of each chain should be in order to fit a certain size.

    Siem. Thank you for my question 9 hours ago Ricki. You answer about where to place the second corner point was perfect! I only wish people would read other people’s questions and you’re answers, because they are right on! Now I understand how to enlarge the different sizes of your darling ponchos. So many others are asking about making the poncho larger and smaller and the chart isn’t enough information! The way you explained to me is perfect! Thank you again! More pattern and tutorials in English, please! Ricki🌞🌺🥀🌻🌹🌼🌷🌸💐

    Thank you so much for this excellent and lovely tutorial. Your instructions were clear and easy to follow. This is the 2nd type of thing I have crocheted, the other being granny squares (so this was an easy transition). Thank you also for demonstrating the scalloped edge because I've been wondering for a while how to do it. Anyhow, my little poncho came out great and matches the baby blanket I recently made. I didn't make the pom poms, however. Just made yarn rosettes/buttons for the front.

      Hi, many thanks.
      You should chain in multiples of 6. Then you will have to decide where the second point needs to go. For Example. Chain of 72. First Corner in 1ste Stitch, second corner. Divide the number you have by 2. So 72 : 2 = 36 add one. = 37. So divide the number by 2 and add 1.
      78 : 2 = 39 + 1 = 40
      This video might be helpful for you.

    Thank you so very very much! I truly understand this very clearly and I'm excited to start some for my granddaughters but unsure of how many chains to do for a four year old. I understand it needs to be big enough to go over her head but I don't want to make it too loose. could you please tell me about how many chains. I can take it from their confidently by the wonderful video. thank you God bless

      @MadeBySiem  8 лет назад +1

      Dear Donna, thank you! Unfortunately I am not able to tell you how much you should chain. It depends on a lot of things. I always use this website. www.bevscountrycottage.com/size-chart.html
      For the head size use the hat sizes and for the arm length you can use the sweater sizes. Be sure the chain is in multiples of 6.
      Good luck 🍀 and Njoy! With Love, Siem

      This video might be helpful for you. I would like to suggest to turn your work after each round to avoid a crooked point

    Thanks for showing me but when you use dark wool at the end I couldn't see what you were doing. Thanks Tracey Minton from Chorley Lancashire UK .

      HIiTracey, you are absolutely right. Whenever using dark wool it's hard to see. I've learned from my mistakes and still I learn from every video I make. Thank you so much for your feedback, it's appreciated. I'll try to do better in my newer video's. Hope you'll have a great day. With Love, Siem

      I am sorry I missed this comment.
      Sometimes this happens. You can avoid this by turning your work after each round. You haven't done anything wrong tho, everyone has another tention and another way of crocheting and sometimes this happens. So turningn after each round will help you to avoid the crooked centre line. Hope this helps, even after a month ;)
