My,my,my. I really loved myself some SOULTRAIN back in the day. As a child of the 70's we watched this show every saturday. I just couldn't wait to see the Jackson 5ive. They was always my favorite group growing up. Don Cornelius was the man, and the dancers was really fun to watch. Such great memories from this show. RIP Don, you was truly an original.
And the Sylvers, O'Jay's, James Brown, Glady's Knight, Sister Sledge, etc etc etc.
I remember our parents waking us up on Saturday mornings....shower, brush teeth, and watch Soul Train. Saturdays were the only day we could eat breakfast in front of the television .
Good old days ' Remember those days ' every Saturday ' Morning watching it on TV ' laying on the floor watching it '
He is a legend.
I was at the TV waiting to watch the Don Cornelius show AKA Soul Train every Saturday. He was the voice of Soul Train. RIP Don Cornelius.Gone but never forgotten never forgotten.

I am so glad that my mother introduced me to soul train. It was a staple in my childhood home during the 80s and early 90s.
Started watching the Soul Train on channel 26 Chicago in 1970 I told my then wife it is local now but it will be nationwide.Loved that show for exposing true talent for all America.
The best dance moves I've ever seen came from Soul Train!!!YA👌

Thank you Don, the millions of lives you touched and made better through your vision, efforts and sacrifices will remain with all of us fortunate enough to have been a part of and share that era and the experience with you. You are greatly missed brother but certainly not forgotten!
They need to bring Soul Train back!Without the multiple guest hosts they started doing in the early 2000's.Just one dope host to bring that magic back.Rest In Power Don Cornelius!
Well we will need some soul worthy music to have the train to transport it...
Hell no so they can twerk down the isle
Won't feel the same. The class has gone downhill.
R. I. P. Don Conealius... Thank you for your visionary and your dream... You paved the way for your people..

RIP Don Cornelius. I wish you Love, Peace, and Soul forever.......
Never forget that Shalamar was on Don Cornelius own record label back in 1975, the original group when they did "Uptown Festival" & they forgot all about that. Way before "Sound Of Los Angeles Records" (SOLAR).
I didn't know that, thanks for the info!! Love, Peace and Soul To You!!
This is so beautiful, almost overwhelming and sad. Me and my sister always watched Soul Train every Saturday. This Italian girl dreamed of being on Soul Train one day. It never happened but Soul Train was a big part of my life. I feel so bad about Don Cornelius. He was ahead of his time. I wish he could have reached out to someone. Such an amazing person with a heartbreaking end.
Don was the man. I just loved Soul Train.
One in a million's person. Forever. No words
Sad that it came to this, he must have been suffering so much to exit the way he did. But he picked his time to go and he always went his own way, making the tuff decisions. I only wish we could turn back time and get a "DO OVER", I hate what music has become, there are no talented artists on the same level as back in the Soul Train days. Back then everything was new never done before, now its just all a repeat, but the man that brought it to us first was Don Cornelius, he knew what was needed and lifted generations up to be able to show that there were more to blackness than a color. I learned about clothes, music and the artists that made it, I learned about style and how to carry it off, and I discovered my first idols were the dancers on Soul Train. I will never forget what that show did for me and meant to me, and guess what I am white, but I wanted it to be my show too. RIP DON CORNELIUS..
Man this was the best show ever 👐 down I was a little girl but I will never forget it loved it miss it forever real 🎶 never dies thanks Don C.
He was writing a ticket for a radio personality ,told him he had a voice and to come down to the station ,he did and that’s the best thing the police did for the community, giving us Don and he gave us Soul Train
Thank you thank you and thank you!!!
Thanks for some very SPECIAL memories Don! You shall Never be forgotten. May you rest in peace knowing your show changed the way black culture and dance made our world. Miss you.
Great person, very good businessman too. R.I.P.
Super Don, had the best dance show ever. The dance show is truly missed. Loved the soul train lines and scramble board at end of show. Had very good dancers each and every wk.An icon dance show and yrs to remember.
Well, we all have a “shelf life” an expiration date...BUT, thank YOU, GOD, for giving this man such talent. Don, thank you for sharing your vision, talent and gift.
I remember in Chicago at 11am faithfully on Saturday's use too watch the style and dancing I hate he left Chicago and took it to LA. Miss him
Rest up my good brother Tru legend!!!!
Yes I remember Soul Train as boy me and my siblings and Don presented the best show on TV. With history of our people that made us feel important in that because so was going on that was negative towards our people.
So having this to look at every weekend was very entertaining to see so many great stars sharing there music that made you Get Up And MOVE THAT BODY!
Thank you Don forgiving us so much to me and many others.
May Soul Train Live in all us..
I'm so Happy and Amazed that his death garnered such world wide Acknowledgement and Praise. He was a Phenomenal Black Man who had a vision that he set in motion that became a groundbreaking television show. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts and minds of generations of African American men&women.Rest easy Mr Cornelius you did good...
As a kid back in England I ached with envy for you guys having this show. I would have watched it every week!
The "CREATOR OF SOUL TRAIN"..............A Saturday tradition..............1 of the longest running shows in American history!!!!!!!! did he copyright his voice "Peace and Soul"?????
I loved watching Soul Train when I was growing up. Rest in peace!
When I was a kid I watched soul train, wow a while back!

I will love Don Cornelius until the day I die...for what he put out there, but also for his Love, Peace, and Soul!
RIP To Both D C....Don Cornelius &
Dick Clark
The dancers deserved more than free lunch his idea but the dancers were the shows everything R.i.p
We grew up on this show, laughter, family good times and discovering the stars. A d what new dance we could learn nexts. Don with his deep intelligent voice. Sound like a singer himself. That train was the sound for the times. Cause we were young and discovering some of the world and it's talents. Wow! What a shock!!! Him killing himself. That didn't feel so right? He was a star too.. But without GOD . we get sucked up are ride the roller coaster of a part of what hell offers? Disappointments, fear, shock and eventually destruction...
He was fabulous ! I wish he had not died by his own hand! He was and is a beautiful soul! Rip!
Hard to understand why someone like Don with all this Love he gave to US and the WoRLD ,That's not fitting his life program. He who gave so much and settle for more less, Suicide????
He help promote the 8track tape iin the ,1970,s
Man U would get up on Saturday morning and there would be no one outside playing, especially when Soul Train was on, and that’s all we talked about at school on Monday was did u see so and so on soul train, good days gone
Thanks for changing history I'm watching your bet series now when you past it was sad you are and always be a part of the black family house hold r.i.p.
When they started letting white people on there it wasn't soul no more
I unfortunately was born too late to grow up with Don Cornelius as Soul Train host, I watched on Saturdays during the Shemar Moore/Dorian Gregory era, but I did end up watching the older episodes in reruns…
WHY isn’t DON CORNELIUS in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Everybody knows he should be there!!
He did more to bring black R&B / Soul music to the masses than anyone else in history, with the sole exception of Berry Gordy !!
Rip Don Cornelius I miss you on Soul Train
RIP Mr.Cornelius.

Much Gratitude
Love, Peace, and Soul.
I used to practice dancing while watching that show for years before I started going out but when it came to that Soul Train Line, it was like the best part of my day and sometimes night. I really loved that show but where I lived it was hard keeping up with when it would air.
Dick Clark also died the same year
That's very eerie
Whitney as well.
@@annettefrazier9787 And Sherman Hemsley
WoW
Everybody was supposed to die that year, some even going to heaven, at least according to #HaroldCamping!
Loved this show as a kid and a young adult !!!--

Soul Train forever baby.... damn skippy, sho'nuff......
I always wanted to ride the Soul Train.
Say it loud, say it proud Black.... and all colors are beautiful! Journey well, you're forever loved.
😘
R.I.P. Don Cornelius!
Irreplaceable.💯
Why is the name Jermaine behind the Jackson 5 on the wall?
DaLane J Most Likely Jermain’s new management was behind it all.
Michelle Booker Jermaine could never take Michael's place.
Saturdays was cleaning days at my house when I was little. But I wasn't moving a bone until after Saturday morning cartoons and soul train went off;
I REMEMBER SATURDAY MORNING I WOULD RUN AROUND THE HOUSE YELLING " IT'S ON, SOUL TRAIN IS ON!!!
EVERYONE WOULD GATHER AROUND THE TVSET( WE ONLY HAD ONE IN MY GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE).
THOSE WERE THE GOOD OL DAYS!
WISH WE COULD GO BACK!!
The only tv set we ever needed really,, it was the togetherness and the "catchin up with families thangs" thats sadly missed!!! Today we got everythang that counts for nuffink.
What happen to the old soul train that originated from Chicago Illinois?
R.I.P...don cornelius😢😢
Wow in 2021, I didn't even remember he commented suicide if I had even heard that at all.
He was smooth!
Yes, Saturday morning cartoons, chores, then Soul Train!
RIP DON!!!
When Soul Train started coming on We stopped watching "American Bandstand" and started watching "SOUL Train".
Don was a intelligent man that put Black people on the map for black for 20ys and fought hard to keep it if we could tell the story of his life the book would be a best seller.
Twyn Colen this year they started a TV series about his life on BET
I'm a white guy (not that it should matter) and loved this show never missed an episode Don was a true pioneer for black America and the talent on the show was second to non, I personally always seen black people in a positive way.
How nice of you to see Black people in a positive way 🙄...Don Cornelius was a pioneer for America period; the entire nation.
He passed away the same year as Dick Clark.
Best tv show ever
Watched every saturday 'AFKN' seoul korea, early 80's, not many korean understood the program then...me n my friends were popped with tv on😜 memories
I use to watch it every Saturday great show
I loved Soul Train & American Bandstand, but I liked that show Solid Gold, too, though Solid Gold only lasted from 1980 to 1988. The Solid Gold dancers were fun to watch, but in a different way, of course, than ST and AB.
R I P 💐
As a kid I watched it and the show was broadcasted from WTTG in DC channel 5. The commercials played during the show were Black oriented. Being white in a white town, I soaked it all in.
I couldnt believe it. ..I remember it was the first day of Black History he died. 😭
At 4:20 that dance was my favorite dance,..and I don't know the name of it !!!
I’m still mad about this he was a true leader in the black community
