Oh boy! Thank you very much for this in depth breakdown of shamanism in WoW!!! I almost hit the Crit cap during my last BWL Raid. I forgot to get the R.O.I.D.S. Version of agility which gives us 1,25% Crit. With all world buffs and raidbuffs i had 53,8 Crit with elemental devastation up!
I absolutely loved this video. If you guys ever do another MasterClass, or simply want some more input, I would love to have a sit down and talk to you guys. High Warlord Obiwankenobi-Grobbulus Ele/resto Tauren Shaman since classic release.
1:55:00 regarding the topic of speccing ele/enhance I used to have a couple buddies who loved this spec way back in vanilla and they were murderers in pvp. We named it the suicide spec because it was basically nothing resto and heavy ele / enhance hybrid. you could output a ton of damage and really destroy in pvp but you were a glass canon. The combo of big crit spells and potential windfurry hits could delete.
Coming from a raiding Elemental Shaman main spec, I have a few thoughts as far as gearing goes: in ZG there’s actually couple big pick ups as far as elemental shaman gear goes. Bloodcloth Gloves (cloth, 19spell dmg, 1% hit), Betrayers Boots (cloth, 30 Spell dmg) and Cloak of Consumption (23 Spell dmg, 1% hit) and if you haven’t acquired Talisman of Eph Power then the ZHC from Hakkar is huge. Truth be told, Natural Alignment Crystal might be the 3rd best Spell damage trinket behind TOEP & ZHC. Come AQ40, tho, Goodmood mentions that Deep Earth is better than Stormcaller because 40>28, which is true, but he neglects that the 3/5 tier bonus has a 20% chance to proc a bonus +50 damage to lightning spells for 8 seconds, so ideally you’re going to want to acquire the shoulders, legs & boots to make optimal use out of the set. I’m probably going to grab the chest as well since the leggings of elemental fury in Naxxramas are so amazing, but ideally you want to keep Mish’undare on as long as possible being that the 2% crit on it is just too good to part with. Gauntlets of Kalimdor are going to be my PVP/Open world gloves, but Dark Storm Gloves are going to be the PvE gloves goal from off C’thun (37 spell dmg, 1%hit). On top of the Belt of Stalk that gives 41 spell dmg & 1%crit will blow Mana Igniting Cord our when it becomes available. Just some extra Elemental insight. -Kinjospyke, Fairbanks
I am a simple man, I see D&M video, I like! Thanks for this, Shaman is a great class for sure! I'm Druid at heart (Horde ofc) but if Classic has taught me one thing, it's that each class is awesome in it's own way. In TBC when I started, I was a one-class guy, but in Classic I'm a philandering altoholic :P BTW... Would you guys consider putting your VODs in a playlist?
@@DefcampMelderonTV I was, thanks for pointing it out! I got a question !^^ is there a real noticeable difference between 2.6 cast time and 2.5 ? And reducing mana cost of healing spells by 3% and 5%? I mean I do see there is a 2% diff. but how does it feel like in bwl rushing or semi afk farming ?
What a great discussion and resource this is. I can't count how many times I've come back to this guide for info. I did have a question on the spirit stat and can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I was looking through my old Brady Games official WoW guide, and it claims that spirit also increases the chance of our weapon imbue procs. Is anyone able to corroborate that info?
Just a pointer for the other shaman newbies such as myself. If you want your fire nova totem to go off, maybe you're tanking a dungeon or aoe farming drop it about a second after you drop stoneclaw, this way the mobs that you don't have actual aggro on (Stuff you haven't hit yet) will take the stoneclaw as secondary target, instead of the fire nova totem!
damnit Melderon now I gotta level a shaman :P I think I'm gonna go Troll because I plan on just healing dungeons and maybe raids... but really it's just a side project to do in my off time when I need a break from ranking on my hunter
Funnily enough, our guilds closet enhancer is a bodybuilder and I (ele alt) am a strongman. The only other lifters in our group are warriors. Funny how that works.

The equivalencies I've seen suggest that 1% crit is ~= to 7-10 SP, depending on world buffs and itemization. Hit is ~= to 10-13 SP. That puts those legs at 24 SP low end, 33 SP high end. T2 legs and Flarecore are both well far ahead.
I lvl up as elemental. Ppl find it machoistic, but it is probably my only time I can love to play elemental. Just front load everything, and play like a hamstring warrior with earthbind totem. As a lvling dungeon healer, spirit stat helps alot when i lvling.
Great video guys! I'm angry everytime I hear "level a mage" for gold farm. You can do pretty decent gold as a shaman by picking up mining and herbalism. You can farm open world with those two professions and get decent gold (waterwalk mining+fishing in azshara also a viable option.) You can do solo jumpruns as a shaman. Even with resto you can do it in 20 minutes with good gear. It's much much faster if you are specced to elemental. You can solo gizlock and princess with herb and mining in maraudon too (not the best gold I know, but it's pretty stable). Thank you for your great content guys! I enjoyed this one a lot!
Is it better for 1H and shield or two hander for leveling on a pvp server from 1 on. I like going ele till 30 then switch to enh playing like enhance the whole way through till 40.
I see plenty of guides showing "twisting" gear options, which are mainly int/mp5 items. Are these ever an option for enh? Am I just better off grinding 150g for a 2000 mana flask every week?
TheBruuz it depends if you want to do low dps personally then you can use the guide advice, if not then you will have time spend the gold and time to min max like Holder recommends.

This was utterly helpful for me! I have a question regarding enchants for Enhance PvP: Holderhek mentions that haste (attack speed) is useless for PvP and I want more elaboration on why. There are Helm/Leg Libram 1% attack speed enchants in addition to 1% attack speed enchant on gloves. Does strength enchants really outweigh more white damage from faster attack speed or? And attack speed can help give more proc chance for wind fury since it’s faster hits, no?
now that its possible to more or less twink ur shaman by buying stuff from AH while leveling an alt Shaman. Wouldnt it be better to buy a fast 1h weapon with proc chance, that for example has a chance to cast shadow bolt on hit along with a shield? maybe not faster kill speed than ele but u can keep going forever without downtime
Warriors/rogues/mages are the popular ones at school, jocks, athletes, cheerleaders and everyone wants to get in their group. Shamans are those kids who kinda just do their own shit but everybody still wanna be with them and hang with em🤣🤣
Just wanted to say, I whole-heartily disagree with the gear choices that Goodmood recommended for both MC and BWL. ToEP is clearly better than 23 passive SP and Natural Alignment Crystal is trash for PvE - it increases spell mana cost by 20% and everyone knows that a PvE elemental shaman's #1 problem is mana...
NAC is relevant on a handful of bosses - namely, Vael, always, and any single target boss if your guild is killing it quickly (~45s-60s). Anything that extends beyond that, TOEP is clearly better. With TOEP you need to factor in fight length. You get 9 casts of 175 increased damage = 1575. If you're using the DM trinket instead (23 damage), you'd need 68 casts to equal things out. That's ~140s of casting LB (you're downranking at this point). This is pretty easily relevant for a lot of guild's kill times, as it's about 2 mins 20s. There's additional implications if you're using cooldowns in conjunction with TOEP for short term DPS, as there is for NAC. So, fight under 1 minute? NAC + TOEP. Fight between 1 min and 2.5 mins? TOEP and Briarwood. Fight over 2.5 mins? Briarwood and DM trink. Obviously always use Tear if you've sucked some dick and gotten your dickbeaters on one.
Speaking for elemental in PVE, if you try really hard you will top dps in average guilds and can be equivalent to the average mage in good guilds (maybe not the best in the world but the best on many servers). ZG (for me) is the worst raid, so far bc of the constant pulls and mana. BWL is better with a good grp bc mana stops being an issue. MC is a bit worse for me. Funnily enough, I excel at killing trash. Maybe bc by drink-walking I can just blast all the time, i.e. weave in chain lightning and earth shock. Basically, the difference between you and mages, currently, is probably as much as a flask. Maybe less. So it's definitely there but on a, let's say, 600 dps tank and spank, getting those 10% extra via the flask won't make or break your performance. Instead of bringing the 11th mage, you can have slightly less damage and more totems for your melees. If there is no compulsory use of flasks, a try hard ele may even be the best caster for a somewhat good group.
I am ready sad, that this is not on spotify, because the screen on youtube is always on. If i could watch it on spotify my screen could get off so I can listen it while my phone is in my pocket.

No, I am going to make a new one soon
@@DefcampMelderonTV cool.
Who’s here for the fresh servers in 2024? Lol 😂
Don't use the sit macros if u are following their suggestions, it doesn't work anymore
you guys REALLY missed the value of improved ghostwolf. In hardcore, its the first thing I get. Its all about survivability in HC
It is my brithright for sulfurous, but if you make me use nightfall in raid that's fine I guess.
Fucking Holderhek the chad is heeeeereeee
i just said to myself, "i'll watch this later", im 45 mins in.

No time stamps?
They are right in a pinned comment. Been there since upload
Defcamp & Melderon TV oh saw em now sorry
Warriors/rogues/mages are the popular ones at school, jocks, athletes, cheerleaders and everyone wants to get in their group. Shamans are those kids who kinda just do their own shit but everybody still wanna be with them and hang with em🤣🤣
Do druid next plz most meme class out of them All but one of the best if played by skilled players
Sick.
As a side note... The Alignment Crystal is so good for healing on Vael. Half the fight you have 20% increased healing.
imp ghost wolf is more a pvp thing for bgs. and can be usefull in combat to get into a hunter's dead zone.
If there is no compulsory use of flasks, a try hard ele may even be the best caster for a somewhat good group.
hey good vids like you'll videos
holy crap, 4.5 hours long! ANY and ALL questions gotta be answered here shaman wise...lol.
Great video. Melee is french, it is pronounced māˈlā. google, define: melee, they have a sound byte.
I am ready sad, that this is not on spotify, because the screen on youtube is always on. If i could watch it on spotify my screen could get off so I can listen it while my phone is in my pocket.
For some reason it really annoyed me when they couldn’t remember that the nef head reward offhand is an upgrade over spirit of aquamentus
Pro tip. Crit>Hit if you crit you cant miss
spent all my loot points on 8pc t1 thinking it was dank(guild de'ed a bunch of salamander pants, wild growth, and t2 shaman gear). turns out i just spam max rank chain heal and snipe with lesser healing wave anyway. feelsbadman
Awww how many MAX (3rd) rank chainheals u cast before u r out of mana ? Seems like healing power in t1 won't let let u * spam * ?..
eg's mic is so loud tho :(
