you are partially correct i was just reading some wrong numbers, sorry. i'll pin this to fix some confusion as i was reading scotland's numbers for some reason. at this time Ibn is supposed to give +4%/+8% respectively when his charge is used, but it's still using (for some reason) the old amenity numbers so he is only giving 2%/4% for happy/ecstatic as the old amenity numbers were 5%/10% for happy/ecstatic before the Aug 2020 update. So you are correct with the maths, but the Scientist is still bugged.
Sometimes i did this psycho thing of conquering civs as fast as possible on my continent and then others civs that met me, i greeted them like: Yeah, New York and Dehli are totally mine from the start! Cmon in, we are a peaceful bunch!
So grievances are distributed among the ais that have met the civ that killed an AI. So better to not meet someone before razing a civ to the ground. In this case, it's better to meet others since each leader can only remove grievances at a certain rate. So having those 700 Gs among 3 civs is better than one since by default you lose 21 from 3 civs as opposed to 7 from just one.
I started a Greek guy game on an archipelago (?) map. I expected to be going for a diplo or culture win, but there is so little land that I'll probably either get a religious, or a dom victory. I spawned on a continent with Monty and Lautaro, and a bunch of city states. I claimed Himiko, and kicked them both out of my landmass with levied armies. I didn't expect that ngl.
One thing I used to love about older civ (I think it was Civ 5) was if you wiped out all the other civs on your continent before you met the rest of the world there was no long-term consequences because those civs wouldn't be missed.
I need you to play as England now. For no reason other than awful accent memes. Also every time you say Suleiman, I'm reminded of Howl's Moving Castle where they shout "SULIMAN!" in the palace.
One thing I liked about Civ 5 was the option to puppet conquered cities so you didn't have to spend so much time micromanaging them. It wouldn't work now because of the district mechanics, but I miss that ability.
WTB civ AI that doesn't build walls. They always do it to me. Declare war with 20 units. Lose half because as I'm about to take a city suddenly every city and encampment pops walls.
I’m only on Emperor games, but I’m working myself up to playing Deity games. It’s gotta be huge map, marathon turns with barb clans, monopolies & corporations, heroes and secret societies for me. I’ve just finished a science victory with Australia, knocking out Teddy R & decimating Gengis Khan. It was fun - trying out Tamar and the Georgians now, but Menelik is resisting my attempts at expansion 😅
wait, how is the +4% yields to happy cities from the great scientist a bug? why would it be +6%? isn't 40% of 10 just 4?

The best part of boes videos is that you don’t even need to click on them, just look at the title, to know he’s lying about something
i would NEVER.

Yeah, you know, it was so annoying when they never ever had better relationship with you even several eras after you were done with your warmongering.
Prediction: Boes says "I'm gonna throw up" no fewer than three times this episode

What a nice surprise to see What we do in the Shadows. Also, yes, you almost sounded like Laszlo... Or Jackie Daytona. Whatever.
I love What We do In the Shadows! Im a big fan of shows like that, Arrested Development, etc
19:23 I'm glad you drew some attention to that new great scientist. I saw them popping in games and looked super useful to go for any sort of victory.
No, no, no ...
Boes didnt not steal those cities. He just found them along with the indigenous residents and infrastructures within.
excuse me im playing suleiman this game not America
"Meeting my third civ at turn 118", poor Hamurabi, completely forgotten.
Boes making the world madder than the giants owners did their fans 🤣
at least the correa physical things ended up being true lmao, not AS mad as before.
also at least California people have Purdy right now
@boesthius as a cubs fan, the fact I have to be excited about taillon, bellinger, and Swanson should offer some relief as well 😭
19:13 "Can A.. SS Build a builder any time fast?"
Suleiman with an n-word pass is terrifying
Perfect! Salut! Happy new year!
I believe the diplo deficit comes from occupying opponents’ capitals - I dunno how it rebuilds itself tho
