The maximum strap length on City Sling 2 is 46" and it can be adjusted on both sides so you can completely loosen the rear side + tighten the front side of the strap, then the buckle should be in front instead of the back. City Sling 1's strap is much shorter so you can't keep the buckle in front, but it is more suitable for fanny pack mode.
If I remember correctly, the latest fidlock design has a small tab on the side that you have to slide in order to free up the lock. I think Alpaka has it on some of their bags, but hopefully aer adds it to their city sling v3.

I own V1 and use the back compartment for my cell. With the amount that I carry inside keeps the cell from moving / sliding / falling out. Did they finally fix the problem with V1 concerning the extra webbing once the strap is adjusted? Mine kept sliding back to its initial length
I would prefer to have the buckle on one side or the other, not in the middle of the back where it may feel uncomfortable when seated against a hard surface. Easy fix to preventing any theft from behind is to lash both sides together with Paracord. Well, you mentioned that it isn't as obvious on how to open the buckle of the City Sling 2. True, if you see it from far away, but if you are closer - like in a mall or other crowded places - you clearly see how to open it because of the little arrows that show the direction. I was already sold to the City Sling 1, now I am thinking about getting the new version. But the arrows on the buckle are a bit of a concern for me. I think its something I would put black tape on first, but that would ruin the nice premium feel and design of the product, wouldnt it? What do you think about this matter? Overall: Love all your videos. I am really into backpacks and stuff that you can fill with other stuff, so I love all your videos and great work! Keep it up!

Is this better than the day sling what sling would you recommend out off the slings you have seen for the Nintendo switch oled
a ninja umbrella sheath??????!! sold I'm upgrading from the ver. 1
get itt
I am not sold on any black sling. I have a dark blue Atom by Pantagonia that fits my iPad Pro.
You just don’t like the color black?
@@Nomads.Nation I do not mind black, I just do not like everything to be black. I love color in my life. I do prefer ocean colors though, and the color of the sky. I think manufacturers should also consider that women buy their products and we do not always want black, dark green, grey and brown, etc. When I was overweight these are the color choices I mostly got for clothes.
How bout an ipad mini 6 will it fit?
Not sure, don’t have one. Be sure to ask Aer and let us know what they say 🫶🏽
Does anyone know the Brand of the magnetic Buckle? I want to Upgrade my aer day sling 2.
this is Not duraflex, its fidlock? Whats the Name of IT??? Slider?
Fidlock
@@ilzephyrli yeh, thanks. Found Out as Well. You know which one?
@@apfelbaris not sure of the size but it's part of the fidlock slider line.
@@ilzephyrli thank you. I ll definatly Upgrade my sling with this one
Great review.
Thanks Danny! More awesome reviews coming your way :)
The link in the description is the same price as the actual website so much for best pricing
Just making sure no one gets ripped off!
hey does the city slign 2 fit a Nintendo switch?
I’ll tell you when mine arrives in like next week
@@Kobk.e nah i'll let YOU know when I get it next week. I just pulled the trigger and ordered one :)
@@MoonRoomOfficial nice, and which version did you got? And yes it fits the normal switch idk about the oled one, but without any case
@@Kobk.e i got the dark camo day sling 2. got an oled switch hoping it'll fit fine with a really thin case.
@@MoonRoomOfficial the day sling is bigger, it’ll fit the switch even with a case I believe. I got the xpac city sling, that waterproof looks too good on me
I don’t understand why they changed the compression method, the method on the v1 was really clever.
Totally agreed. V1 compression was certainly superior - V2 doesn't even compress!
The first aer city sling strap digs in to my neck when im wearing a tshirt, hopefully with the slimmer profile of this new sling it is better
So weird, I've never had that happen to me - let me know if V2 has the same effect
Great review but Phnom Penh is in Cambodia not Vietnam.
yup, check the comments, I've been corrected on this many times lol
Finally, grams :D
Thank you, ounce-man ;D
Dude everytime I shoot a video and mention the weight I think of you and mention the kgs as well 😂
❤️
Keep it up!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I think the black tape would ruin the whole point of getting something premium like this - either accept the security breach, or get a sling that is a bit more theft proof (although there aren't any that come to mind)
@@Nomads.Nation Thanks for the quick answer, I really appreciate it! The more I think about it I guess I will still get the sling. It just looks too nice :D Ah, life is always about compromises.
Also I dream of designing my own Backpack/Bag line someday, even though nowadays there are so many manufacturers and different products out there :D
@@Gylfaginning16 You won't regret getting the sling! As for making your own backpack, be sure to stay subscribed to our channel - we will have a big announcement soon and a ton of content regarding that exact topic 😏
@@Nomads.Nation Thank you
10:47 a small typo there :)
Yeah, we have so many typos it's almost become funny at this point 😂
And letting you know in comments. I'm buying second sling because of you (yea, yea, links, remember). AND because of that buckle too. I just love fidlocks. It's so satisfying.
About security...well...I use Modern Dayferer (or how you spell it), it's ok with me :D
But I'm always ready to loose my iPhone. Otherwise I'd buy a cheaper heimplanet transit sling. Best value for the buck.
Thanks for the affiliate link support! And agreed, nothing in this world is ever 100% theft-proof. You gotta assume some sense of risk walking out of your front door everyday
Could you check, if you received money? I bought city pack in the X Pac version.
I'm ready to fight with aer for 1-2 of your bucks :D
@@denis4yk19 haha thanks for asking man! Unfortunately the affiliate software isn't in-depth enough to check this, but sales have been coming in so I'm going to give Aer the benefit of the doubt and hope that it counted - seriously though, thanks so much for checking :)
6:55 Phnom Penh is in CAMBODIA bro, not in Viet Nam
yea I been there - brain don't always work so good
The new buckle is sharp at the corners, painful to grab on hands.
I didn't find it sharp myself, but I appreciate the comment!
@6:54 Phnom Penh is in Cambodia, not Vietnam. But I get your point.
3rd comment pointing this out lol but thanks for the knowledge
❤ love ninja mode
🥷
Nah, I prefer the magnetic buckle as well to kept that compression system, might not look that is compresing something unless you start stuffin things in.
Thanks for the comment Arturo, and agreed on preferring the magnet buckle :)
Me, a Mexican who first drink tequila at 5 watching this: 👁👄👁 you forgot tequila and authentic taquitos or tequila and fútbol my friend.
I love this sling, I dint know if I should go for this one or the day 2, and do you think it’ll still go with me if I wear suits from time to time?
I think they are both pretty similar and should go OK with a suit (but probably not as ideal as a briefcase/messenger?). Also YES tequila and taquitos, you are making me miss my 2 months living in Mexico City so much 😭🇲🇽
@@Nomads.Nation yeah good point of view, and yeah great city. Next time you should try Monterrey with the best meat (carne asada) of Mexico or some beach ;)
@@Kobk.e I've traveled a bit through the country (Yucatan, Puerto Vallarta area, Guadalajara) but I want to see so much more. It's my fav country in the world. Monterrey sounds right up my alley!
@@Nomads.Nation holy molly, puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara and Merida are lovely places, I can’t recommend enough Cancún though and any maya ruins or Aztec ruins
Eh, seriously: the people who go around professionally taking slings off people train with all the mass market buckles. Fidlocks aren’t exactly “proprietary” in the community. Realistically, it’s unlikely any more or less secure for the buckle than the City Sling 1.
cant argue with that! I agree, if someone is committed to stealing a sling from you - they'll likely be able to
It's not a duraflex buckle... It's a fidlock slider btw.
Ah cheers mate - thanks for that!
@@Nomads.Nation No worries!
BTW, for your daily use, which of the AER slings do you prefer? And have you used it with a backpack to have pocket items more accessible?
Great question! This is probably my number 1 now. But I wouldn’t recommend using it with a backpack (unless you are flying and want a personal item + something to store overhead)
@@Nomads.Nation Cool. Since I use my backpack daily if I'm shopping sincd I want to be hands free, I've tried the sling as my pocket reliever so I don't have to unload the big one... seems to work OK that way
@@mkphilly interesting - so you say that you wear your sling and backpack simultaneously?
@@Nomads.Nation yeah, after getting the sling. I wear my backpack whenever I go out, in case I buy stuff (almost always) , since surgeries in my thumb joints make it difficult to carry bags in my hands. So all the stuff I need either go in my pockets or hang from my belt loops- bulging cargos- or the front of my backpack, making me take it off all the time. So now I've been putting all those "accessories" in the sling, which nestle neatly on my side, against the back pack, or even attached to a carabiner to the backpack. It works, and I hardly notice it, making accessing phone, keys, tissues, sanitizer, extra masks or whatever much, much easier: just swing the sling to the front- voila! And I get no looks and my hands are totally free!!!!
@@mkphilly ahhh I get it now! Super shitty to hear about your thumb joints, but it's awesome that you've been able to develop a badass system to make everything easier for yourself!
Phnom Penh that is in Cambodia not Vietnam
My geography-knowledge failed me 😭

@@Nomads.Nation thank you very much :)
@@Nomads.Nation ... isn't this it?
@@diamondsprince shit I meant the Aer TECH Sling 2
I'd rather not have a buckel at all. I'd rather have a slide like PD camera straps and just tale it off over my head.
agree to disagree
@@Nomads.Nation it was just for me, I know most like the buckel, I just don't like them on my back.
@@rogerhuston8287 I respect that 💪
TToo small. Why take it? Basic EDC go in pants. This won't hold an iPad:3L iPad mini-6L iPad Pro 11" 10L iPad 12.9/13" Macbook. Too slim for camera. Just for phone, notebook, wallet, keys and a few thing you don't really need. Sorry. Look great. Not for me.
I like it to relive my pockets and to help carry a few extra things (portable battery, scarf in winter, small notebook, pens).
lol 2.5l is XL

the security issue is enough reason for me not to get it tbh
