- Seeing as it’s a show about martial arts and karate, there are unsurprisingly a great deal of action sequences in Cobra Kai, all of which are done for real. Now while like all shows, stunt performers are used for the trickier and more dangerous scenes, the actors did do a bunch of their stunts themselves, becoming adept in martial arts and being able to pull off the moves without any help. In fact, the cast estimated that they performed 90% of the stunts themselves, with only one or two of them being handed off to a stunt performer. But of course, stunt performers and the coordinators who come up with the choreography and what the fights will look like are as important as the actors themselves, and without their amazing work the show wouldn’t be as good as it is.
In this video we will take a look behind the scenes of Cobra Kai and how they managed to pull off some daring stunts and massive action sequences. We will take a look at all of the work and training that went into performing one of the most famous sequences from the show (the hallway fight scene and of course the moment Miguel plummets to the ground), the massive finale fight that takes place at the end of Season 3 in the LaRusso household, the jump between buildings in season 4 and a general overview at the training and work that goes into making Cobra Kai. This is behind the scenes of Cobra Kai stunts!

I read that Robby's and Hawk's actors are also the best fighters among the young cast in real life because Tanner and Jacob already knew martial arts before filming.
Xolo isn’t as experienced as tanner but he also did karate before the show 😊

I absolutely love watching this cast preform their stunts on screen. The fights are always intense and have me on the edge of my seat. Cobra Kai NEVER dies!

90% stunts are done by the cast itself was the most shocking thing that I got to know. These guys are on another level.
Knowing Tanner did the whole Juvie fight himself with no stunt double just makes me more attracted to him

I can catch (usually with the adults) when they make covering edits and use stunt doubles but it's clear it's rare with the kids, which is part of why the fighting is so great.
Great choreography, long unbroken shots, clear steady camera, and framing of their faces. Legitamitely some of the best martial art fighting you'll see on tv and it only progresses the quality through the seasons

I like the hawk sound effects whenever he's on screen
The young actors can land roles in action movies in the big screens. In my opinion, Jacob Bertrand (Hawk) is a very good actor as well as an action star. You can see some of his micro-expressions when he was that bully under Kreese, struggling within and he and Demetri were hostile to each other, and of course the bullied Eli, the bully Hawk and then the Miyagi-do Hawk who finally anchored to accept himself as he is - throughout the seasons Jacob Bertrand made Eli/Hawk a very authentic character.
As for Tanner Buchanan playing Robby Keene, who was lost in his feelings towards Johnny, struggling to find a place Johnny's life, feeling insecure - again a fine actor. I cannot said enough because the young actors in the show are marvelous.
This is one of the best shows of the last 2 decades.
Videos like this make me appreciate Cobra Kai more.
After watching this, Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) is even more badass in real life. 💯

This show... It's sometimes so absurd and knows it's absurd and... It's fantastic.
I feel the need to clarify that Hiro and Jahnel did do Seasons 1-3 (with Jahnel coming in to help Hiro starting with the tournament in Season 1), but they were not welcomed back for Season 4. Also, Hiro's favorite fight is actually the woods fight from 2x05 between Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) and Miguel (Xolo Mariduena). In regard to the injuries section, Xolo punching Jacob in the face had nothing to do with a fight scene, it was simply part of a game where they tried to make the other person flinch, and Xolo didn't realize how close Jacob was to him.
My son is in Karate and every time the show has a move from my sons class or my sons class does something from the show I get excited.
This is insane. Awesome work! Love the show!
Robby was the next level of serious in that tournament in Season 4
I think this is, why the Show looks real in fighting. Because the Charakters could do "nothing" at the beginning and growing with their fighting skills. I do action movies with little fight scenes on my own, so I noticed: With every Season they are showing more of the action with less cuts, because the actors are becomming better and better. Man....i would love being in that show too. :)

I really wish, Sam and Robbie would get back together and Tori and Miguel would get back together, I know some would want it the other way around, In the one episode , Sam said , Robbie broke her heart as well, I really think Sam and Robbie are cuter and Tori and Miguel are cuter and would be awesome to have Daniel and Johnny's kids together and marry in the end and Miguel is good for Tori, And I love that , Daniel and Johnny have teamed up. Thank you, For the like, I rewatched season 4 ,When Tori got fired from her one job and Sam and her mom were at her second job ,When Sam and Miguel kissed,Tori was peeved ,Sam confessed her Robbie broke each other's hearts at the pool fight. When Robbie went missing Sam looked for him at the skate park every day They are jealous of each other ,Tori still likes Miguel and Sam still likes Robbie you can tell if you watch closely.I wish they would go back to the other one
