And I don't check it now. Mainly driving around town. I'm hoping the mileage will improve over time. My commute is about 14 minutes so I'm not putting on that many miles. Small town commuting ; )
If you did not anticipated a difficult portion of the road ahead and already started climbing, you can try engaging the 4x4 in reverse gear. I tried it twice and it worked. My Sprinter is the 2016 model but technically very similar.
Good to know. My fear is you're headed up a huge pass and halfway up it turns from rain to snow and there's no place to stop. Error on the side of 4x4 at the bottom of the hill.
Cool use of the drone shots. Most places I go, drones are banned so to date I haven't invested in one, plus it would be hard to drive and control the drone at the same time... :) . One question, as a fellow Coloradan, I'm taking my Revel to Winter Park for our first trip with boondocking this weekend. You said you ran the battery down and had to jump start while running the Esbar all night. How did that happen? My understanding was that the chassis and coach batteries are not connected. Are you saying the Esbar runs off the chassis, not coach?
Great question. I can only assume I left some other electronics on as well (radio, lights, etc). I left the key in the coach and didn't lock it. Normally when you lock it everything is goes out. But that might not have been the case. I have since locked it every time and have not had the issue again.

Hey man what a great video. Great Overlanding toy. I recently went to dealer, and test drove that badass, I liked it. What is your MPG? The dealer said its 20MPG combined. Yours must have been a lot heavier and should have more consumption, right? thanks in advance
No you won't get 20 mpg combined. I have a 2019 4x4 with stock Michelin all-season tires. I get 16 to 18 mpg over 7,700 mostly highway miles. It's a lightly loaded upfit, nowhere near as heavy as the Revel. The MPG is my main disappointment; I got about 19mpg average (80K miles) in my 2015 sprinter 4x2 cargo van same 6cyl engine. I blame the aerodynamics plus the 4x4 losses. The huge ground clearance must make a lot of turbulence.

This is a MODERN WESTY!
Hey Charlie, Great video. I'm interested it getting a Revel too. Was wondering how tall you are (I'm 6' 3") and how is the interior head room in the coach and headroom in cab? I know the Winnebago specs say 6'3" but am interested on your take. Thanks.
Hi Paul - I'm 6 foot. And it feel roomy. Driving it's not issue. Inside the coach, it's right at 6'3" or a shy less. The bed there's plenty of room.
Are the stock tires bf Goodrich ta ko2's? Looking for options for our sprinter. How is the road noise on open dry highway?
Yes, those are the tires. Again, they are decent in the snow. But yes, they are a little noisy in dry pavement,. I ended up buying some stock take offs from a 2019 Sprinter 4x4. Steel wheel and different tires. Better for snow. But I have not swapped them out this winter. Next year.
great video, going to be selling our Westy and getting a Revel as soon as we finish our move to Utah. Agree heated seats would be nice I replaced my VW seats with Recaro's and installed heaters when I put them in never use my heater now. I bet you could get aftermarket heaters for the Revel, my upholstery guy added quick connects so when I turn the seat around I unhook the wires and no problem. ENJOY
I will look into that. And the coach heater takes a while to get warm as well. Life in the Rocky Mountains : )
Another great video...especially your drone footage. Question...what microphone are you using?
hi so with the 7 speed and the 4 wheel drive what kind of mileage? and how much solar do you have? and that is a 144 wheelbase? thanks
Hi Mike - They say the 7 speed should improve mileage but so for I'm just driving around town and it's not great. Maybe around 14-15. I don't often check for accuracy. The solar is 200 watts and that is stock. Yes, it's the 144 springs. Thanks
How do you keep from having diesel issues when the temp drops?
Hmm. No issue here. These are not the diesel engines from the past where you have plug in the glow plugs. This van starts right up at -10 and it lives outside.
what tires are these?
Can revel drives with chain when heavy snow?
The stock tires are Goodrich AT ko?
Yep. Although they say it's an upgrade from Winnebago.
Nice Van
What’s the color name ?
And color code number ?
Thx
Thank you for the video. What is the price of this model?
120 + -
👍😄😎. Cool 😎
Thanks for sharing, I think that is the ultimate ski bum vehicle.. how long can you run the heater before having to start the vehicle to recharge the batteries? #ADVwithRoscoe
I don't know that yet. But the heater is fueled from the diesel so as long as you have fuel, I'd say a long time.
2 or 3 days
but the heater will not work if it senses that your fuel level is too low so keep it above the quarter level
What about the rest of the car?
In the next video ; )
Hey man what a great video. Great Overlanding toy.
I recently went to dealer, and test drove that badass, I liked it. What is your MPG? The dealer said its 20MPG combined. Yours must have been a lot heavier and should have more consumption, right?
thanks in advance
Yeah, I heard that too and maybe once it breaks in. Around town I'm around 15 mpg
No seat warmers!?
Yeah, it's a cold drive to work in the winter.
Westyyy 🐭🥰🥰🥰
Ohhh so happy you noticed ; )
