29:12 about faction overviews, I don’t, personally, see a problem to keep the format used by Galu for multiple reasons. 1. People are already familiar to them and many might not like a change. 2. They are pretty exhaustive and actually give a useful overview on the faction. 3. They are more about the Game (or better Said, the mod) than the person giving it. So I don’t think most of the people are Gonna accuse you of “stealing” or w/e (some will still do, there are always haters, but don’t mind them). 4. You can add your own “section” as you Said yourself. You Could add a part with recommended units to use and early choices/steps to take/expand etc.
@@stefankatsarov5806 that's true about early expansion, but I can't remember if he recommended stuff like "Early game army comps" "Late game army comps" "All cav armies" etc. - and these are not "steps", but reasons to make overviews on faction and we all will benefit from them
@@ottovonkassel2314 he many times said that he was not min/max player and I never recall that he bothered about army compositions. Of course if he played as Dol Amroth then he was focusing to get pikes for bridge battles etc. but I do not recall that he very specifically prepared armies - rather was using whatever unit was created and go as it was.
Same here, Galu's work is just amazing and has set a standard in making a faction overview. However, I truly appreciate DaC V5 Team for their dedication.
This is easily my most anticipated project (indie, triple A or otherwise) since it's announcement. Thanks to you and everyone on the mod team for all your work. DaC is truly a work of art.
For the potential overviews the parts I liked the most from before were the unit breakdowns on what units are good/bad/special etc. and also the specific scripts/unique aspects to the faction. Having the early guide would be nice as well though if you had the time. And personally I don't think too many people would care about copying the old format (if you wanted to) given Galu is not doing it anymore. :)
Many years I have used DAC and had so many hours on enjoyment , MED2TW was a good game , the day it was modded to LOTR , TATW it just expanded to be a world of escape . The dedication that the DAC team has shown over the years blows my mind, saying farewell to Arachir Galudirithon was sad, i felt like a favoured general had fallen within my Dol Amroth armies charging the gates of Mordor. , that' s what watching his channel on the DAC developments meant, to backing up , the playing of the game, So as you I have found , taking up the banner, I wish you great success in showcasing the developments of the DAC mod to the community ,.

Using TW Map Reader 2.24 I checked resource situation in v4.6. There are on the map: Fish Resources in 39 Provinces Fur Resources in 105 Provinces Honey in 19 Provinces
I don't pay much attention to discord so I missed the release by ten days. I check it every couple weeks just waiting for this release! Downloading now, I'm hype.
As long as we get good overview videos, I'm perfectly fine with you using Galu's format. It's the natural way to cover factions. Thanks for all the hard work on the mod and YT

My biggest grapes is with the AI. Or mainly the cheating "i pump out the best units with no need to spend money, waiting time, recruitment restrictions" part of it.
@@locus2427 im aware of that, but for me (especially the late game when the AI literally just floods you with dozens of armies) its nearly unplayable because of it. Especially when the AI fights as an ally. I never had one single game where any of my allies reached round 100. Unplayable is really the best word.
A suggestion. For Yvannas Union script. I feel as if it would be much more thematic to have an AoR for Woodland tier 1 units for Lorien after the union script. The 4 they get from Woodland roster are cool, it just doesn’t make much sense that you cannot get at least Woodland Scouts or Spears within Mirkwood. Dunlending Longspears should get a visual upgrade as Isengard. Rohan is in a great place, they do not need to change, maybe some flavor scripts, otherwise they are exceptionally fun to play.
Dang I was hoping that Arnor would also get access to most of Bree's roster, or even new arnor versions of breeland units. Really give a cool unique variation to the mix of Numenorian and North men roster.
Mengalen is a trap. The barrow wight forces are big enough that you have to keep a fairly large force to defeat them (3-5 units of barrow wights each time), but they spawn so rarely that the extra 50 population from the script takes ages to add up. It might pay off after a few hundred turns.
3-5 is a small army, i defeat them with a same size army using one cavalry unit to do the trick. But yes, 50-100 population are very few tho, and it seems the Dunedain event to fix the barrow crypts never triggers after turn 60, probably a bug.
@@marcelOberauer Even if you're using 5 units yourself, you're spending >1000 gold per turn on a village that makes a few hundred per turn, and troops that you're using there are troops you can't send anywhere else.
@@snowisthebestweather Why would you send units anywhere else? use 4 cheap free upkeep units in the nearest fort with the general in Mengalen to fight the barrows, that general can increase traits after the battle, good for population grow, but put 8 ancillaires on him so you wont get the barrow curses, and with low taxes can reach 1200 population in like 50 turns.
@@marcelOberauer Because the spawned armies sometimes attack the settlement directly, giving you no time to get troops over from the fort, which, as the ND, is two turns to the east for infantry. I also don't see how you could possibly be using four cheap units to take out barrow wights anyways unless there's some cheese going on. They're 15% faster than things like archer militia, so kiting is simply impossible.

If you don't have the fort near Bree then leave cheap units like two wardens and a general in the town and attack with two scouts from the fort, that's all you need to defeat 5 barrows units. You can leave another general or lumberjack in the town since those are also cheap.
Also, anyone notice how buggy the AI is during sallies? It takes like 15 minutes for them to get their army out(depending on how many units obviously).
hey, I'm playing divide and conquer and I want to change so that settlements have multiple buildings slots. Anywhere I searched on the internet about this, people say one building at a time is a hardcoded feature of Medieval 2. Do you know how I could change that or is it something you are considering on changing in the next DaC patch. It makes it so much more realistic and makes your expansion rely on your economy rather than you waiting for each settlement to build one building at time, which btw takes forever in DaC!!! Thanks!

personally i find it ironic that every total war have a fantasy lord of the rings mod , while at the same time there is some sort of a divide in the game fans on the history/fantasy line
You should only need to do the LAA step once on the Med 2 executable. The new install doesn't require it if you already applied LAA. Make sure to do a fresh installation for v5, installing over 4.6 could potentially cause problems.
@@Augimund I am gonna try reinstalling whole M2TW tomorow, I still have my discs somewhere, just hoping that there wont be problem with localization (if I remember correctly, I was not able to select the game language, so it run in czech, which caused problems with some mods like Stainless steel, but my guess is that it could work here since Dac is basically its own thing that just happens to run on M2TW engine) Anyway thanks for reply :)

You can have multiple installations of DAC if you wish to keep v4.5. You will have to rename the "Divide_and_Conquer" folder to something else, such as "Divide_and_Conquer_4.5". From there, go to your TATW.config file, and change the line "mod = mods/Divide_and_Conquer" to "mod = mods/Divide_and_Conquer_4.5". The installer will create then a new Divide and Conquer folder for V5, and you may select either of the mod versions to play from their batch files.
Recently started a campaign in Dac V4.6, but I think it its not the latest version? I think I saw someone playing V5? Now my question is should I just play in V5? And how does the installation work? Also the same with V4.6 installation steps?

Only thing that is missing from this mod is HOBBIT GENERALS AND A COUPLE MORE HOBBIT TROOPS Come on.. bilbo the conqueror of mithlond and paladin the unstoppable are completely senile in my campaign, and just bandobrass archers and shiriffs won't do... give me a pike unit, or a stealth commando hobbit unit, or a slinger unit now they're available!! Please 🙏 🙏 🙏
I hope they tweak incomes… on 4.6 as rohan i barely got enough money to raise 1 full stack…even after focusing all cash on upgrading income buildings.. so helping gondor is out of the question when isengard is aggressive and after them its the dunlendings constantly sending armies..

I tried a few factions, on Medium/campaign and Hard/battle. I like a laid back campaign with a few battles. But like with elves, I tried both getting a good economy by rush or slow build up, but I get assraped everytime by turn 20-40, so many enemies.. Every single litle gay elf count! I feel the losses so hard with the slow replenish haha. Is it only me or is normal level quite hard? I even tested easy but that was way to easy.. big jump up to medium.. Mabey the mod V5 need to be played on VH for balance.. hm...
Nothing concrete as of yet, just rumours. The game you're thinking of, I think, was Rome 1 Remastered. That was not a mobile game (Although it definitely looked like one) :p

It is possible to first restore Arnor and later also unified it with Dol Amroth and Gondor?, I would like that. What about rebuilding of Tharbad?
I understand it's probably not easy to implement but it would have been nice to be able to reunite Arnor and then create the reunited kingdom
