I don't understand why the builders of this put "Safeguard" on Elmdor in War of the Lions. Anyone who has ever played a Final Fantasy game knows "Genji" tends to be the strongest equipment sets available in the game. To not be able to acquire it seems like a poor decision.
Thing is it's not even entirely that great here in the game as well. Having it won't break the game in any way shape or form. Lol. Some people will say have it "match' the Japanese version but idk.

Have all your 5 characters, Ramza included, to have two swords and knight break skill and teleport, and break Velius speed first and his crew as well, then magic power, and after you disable them, don't kill them too soon, let them wondering around hopeless. Please!
I've done the Speed break before. but I don't think I ever Slowed, or Mediated or Chickened. So that's nice. And Ramza as the thief and Scream, could've helped me, I know that.
1] Ramza: squire + time (or monk --> off healer) targets (monk/steal --> who does the deed) with speed up (yell). 2] Monk(f): (steal) every turn (or heal/rez on emergency) concentration/attack up is beneficial for steals and teleport/move + 2 for mobility. High speed stat from lvl up/down stat-maxing is possible. 3] Cid: (+ time/oracle) uses slow/stop/don't move/quick/demi2 or faith(pray -->Beowulf, doubt -->Elmdor after he is debuffed (speed/chicken) to lower his damage from draw out) He can/should (stop/stone, paralyze/slow) ninjas to make them less of a threat (if you want to strip them also of gear). They will have barette/cachusha for certain. Btw he/Beowulf is standing guarding on @zz of monk for passive heals/mp regen. 4] Beowulf: (+ time/oracle) uses slow/stop/don't move/(don't act/petrify)/quick/demi2 or faith(pray --> self), chicken -->Elmdor (very important participant). 5a] knight(f) (+ time/oracle) can/should (stop/stone, paralyze/slow) ninjas/Elmdor(slow only) after reducing speed with speed break (mind/power break, option) This is a safer replacement for Cid with better functionality (imo) 5b] Rafa: (low brave for items/find and high faith for (persuade ct 0) --> mediator) with speed gear and keep Elmdor on her/away from the group (back to walls while she is working) (An option if space is available) This was my party/setup (catch for throw weapon defense (ninja alive) is viable, or auto-potion). I had no stress during the fight. Focus and take care of problems.
Leveling up/down is definitely helpful but I don't think its needed. It can help with accuracy though. Faith isn't part of Draw Out damage though. It is MA. So lowering his Faith is kinda pointless or giving him Atheist status. So lowering his Faith isn't that ideal in fact it will hurt your chances based on your strategy. You can't Petrify the Assassins as they are bosses. You can't Stop and Don't Move Elmdor. Why I suggested Slow only. Elmdor doesn't use his physical attack all that often so Speed is best. Why Low Braver on Rapha? There aren't missables or great items at Limberry. I still don't see the appeal of Catch here as the weapons they throw at you aren't even that great. But to each their own.
@@J7JaseI just do, not much thinking... I truly loved the lvl up/down option... to get knight swords early (Gafgarion is a punk). I try to cover all options/lower the risk of losses. Maybe I revisit my save file again... and try it again your way. I like a challenge.
@@DonaldRoy-nr9xe I mean yeah your setup can work but some of those abilities aren't needed unless you really want to mess around. I love challenges too and I even posted some on my channel lol
I always put a female summoner with Talk skill. They have high MA growth. They can heal, attack and shield your team and then recruit speed debuff when out of MP. I als think they have a great sprite and pic
I guess im cool with them taking away the ability to steal his gear since it was a glitch/mistake to allow it in the first game, I wish u could get this game on PS4/5 and they made a trophy 🏆 for stealing all his equipment
I mean it sort of is but then again they left the chocobo flying glitch that literally crashes your game in both versions of the game lol. It would be cool if they released all versions but there is always that emulation option lol

Iirc I always had a knight with two swords (excalibur + any) for double speed break, Beowulf for chicken, and someone who kills (Orlandeau or Agrius) and the steal rng begins.

Nowhere near as efficient as your knight build but I always had fun putting knight break skills on gun wielders to break stats at long range. It’s fun to do in the Wiegraf 1v1

Hmm.... seeing as the Mediator is essentially a goddess now, I think she can go without Auto Potion. Maybe Speed Save instead? Preferably would have liked MA Save so she will increase her success rate, but only male units can learn that skill sadly
@@IrrelevantPride In this particular situation no. Because Ramza has Excalibur so Attack Boost will be nice with the Knight Sword. However a Monk with Attack Boost will be overall better since you can use both to increase steal rate
In the original I think it's the overall best. Although Aegis Shield is nice for MA damage. In War of the Lions I think Reverie Shield is better due to halving all elemental damage though. It's nice vs the enemy dragons like Tiamats and Greater Hydras
I personally like Aegis that 50% magic block is pretty epic add it with a feather mantle and blade grasp and you are pretty much invincible to most things in the game.
The PSX FFT audio was a bit loud compared to my voice but I just love those classic sounds from the abilities 😂 Can't beat it

Hi yes it is indeed possible. You can get him as soon as Chapter 4 starts if you want. In both the original and in the WOTL remaster version
