This is the most beautiful pas de deux that I've ever seen, until now. The music, the connection between the ballet dancers, the "history" in that scene, the figurines, they are so good in that characters..... Just wonderful!

Aurelie Dupont is a great, beautiful, elegant ballerina, great pair with Roberto Bolle. There is another beautiful PDD with.R.Bolle and the marvellous Svetlana Zhakarova, act.1, la Bayadere, 3-4 min.
This is indeed a wonderful clip of the amazing dancing partnership that was Roberto Bolle and Aurélie Dupont from Sir Kenneth Macmillan’s Manon. Beautiful, sensuous and romantic the whole ballet which was filmed at the Paris Opera is available on DVD and Blu ray as I’ve got a copy. Now Aurélie Dupont is director of the Paris Ballet and famously and rightly sacked Sergei Polunin for his homophobic views.

This was a live relay to cinemas but i saw this production on television.This is a decent pair but on the whole, the it looks ponderous and under rehearsed in comparison to the Royal Ballet production i saw with Sarah Lamb as Manon,she was so elegant.
The melody is taken from the song 'Elegie' by Massenet, which apparently was originally written one of his operas ('Les Erinnyes'). The orchestration you hear on this video clip was made for the ballet. There is a CD of the music from the ballet by the Covent Garden orchestra of the Royal Opera House. A piano setting of the song can be heard in various performances here on You Tube.

There is s wonderful DVD/Blue Ray of Carlos Acosta and Tamara Rojo from Royal Ballet dancing this. Exquisite.
