The same double-header seen twice, a freight demonstration train, and two regular Hythe to Dungeness services are seen passing this level crossing on St. Mary's Road, one of two public highway level crossings in Dymchurch on the 15-inch-guage Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway which runs along the Kent Coast. All services seen were hauled by 1/3 sized miniature locomotives. These videos were filmed during the Sunday of their "End of Season Parade" event, and there was quite a lot more running than usual on this day, including quite a host of special action!
This particular level crossing is the first, and so far only, public highway level crossing on this railway to have LED wigwags / road traffic lights installed at it, and these were put in within the past year or so. Despite this renewal, all drivers' crossing indicators and the single red flashing light provided for the nearby recreation ground have remained un-touched, and are still halogen bulb-type.
Four full lowerings are featured in this video, with an additional shot of the double-header heading towards Hythe included despite the lowering sequence being missed.

Wow it says nos. I notice and wow LED
Epic Crossing and Video and catch of the trains!!👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much!
In some shots it looks like a full size railway.
I never thought LEDS would make it to the miniature lines. Great catch!
Thanks! Me neither.
Excellent video and catches
Thank you!
Lovely video!
Thanks!
Never thought LED lights would be a rare sight on a British rail line bet here we are😂
Why do some level crossings have big lights? It confuses me. This one doesnt have big ones.
Did they decide to upgrade this crossing or did they have to do it because it was forced by someone/some company?
My best guess is that these were donated replacements for very weathered predecessors (may have also been due to damage), but don't quote me on that.
