Kinda curious. I've not been to the crossings in Dingwall in a while. Do you by any chance know what happened to the lights on the right-hand side from where you were recording? They looked wonky to me, and it also looked like the lights were malfunctioning. Other than that question, great video.
Isn't a class 171 just a 170 fitted with dellner couplers for working in multiple with EMUs that Southern use
Pretty much, yes. I didn't specifically know this is what distinguishes them from a 170 until a little looking into it.
Great video and nice crossing!
Nice videos at Winchelsea level crossing in East Sussex by the way and nice signal lights as well.
Excellent Videos!
Nice one!
Nice!
So, with this crossing, if you get caught on the crossing and the activation starts you should have at least 45 seconds to clear, based on the timing from the video.
How do you open both gates _before_ crossing? I guess they mean if you're in a vehicle.
Yes they do. The alternative is driving their vehicle part way across the tracks and getting out and doing the next gate...even though it defies logic and common sense. Although the latter seems to be in short supply these days.
Excellent video and catches 👍
Great video and crossings! Do have to wonder, are the mellor wigwags on that line the last ones in use on any crossings there in the UK?
Ferry Meadows (Ham Lane) also has GEC Elliot wigwags I believe, and Minffordd Quarry Lane even has Mellor traffic lights used as vertical wigwags. They're the main examples that come to mind.
It's a bit of a shame the "more than one train approaching" announcement always happens - rather than when both treadles are activated - as people will just tune it out.
Great videos at Romney Hythe Dymchurch railway though and the level crossing selection ❤❤❤❤⛪⛪⛪⛪🚂🚂🚂🚂🚄🚄🚄🚄🚅🚅🚅🚅🚆🚆🚆🚆🚝🚝🚝🚝🚋🚋🚋🚋🛤🛤🛤🛤🌞🌞🌞🌞☀☀☀☀
Awesome Videos and a brilliant Compilation!
Brilliant Video, Caleb!
Thanks, Ri :)
Fantastic catches! Those are some cute little trains at 6:59 lol. Ant that last clip was insane!
Cool!
Excellent video as always 👍
Nice one matey
Nice video compilations at Margaretting level crossing in Essex 🚂🚂🚂🚄🚄🚄🚄🚅🚅🚅🚅🚆🚆🚆🚆🚝🚝🚝🚝🚋🚋🚋🚋
Great video and nice crossing! Wonder why there's that humming sound when the E2S alarms do the voice messages?
I've never been sure as to why to be honest.
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Might be the sound the speaker makes when power's applied but nothing is being broadcast through it?
It's most likely background noise or the microphone
Great Videos!
Nice!
I can’t believe it’s 2024 almost 2025! 🎉
Where on earth has 2024 gone???
Nice uk railroad crossing 🎉
that alarm is terrible, but i really like the other one! Good catches!
Really like this crossing - a place where angles can be creative 😁
Not quite sure of this crossings purpose
I think it's only this way due to installation of traditional gates not being possible or practical here, but at the same time, it is probably quiet enough to be an open crossing. It is odd
Nice one
1:21 Shoutout to that eurasian collared dove that landed on the wig wag! Yes I do have a good knowledge about birds
Great video and crossing! Always love the unique set-up on the one side. I'm guessing that the one driveway there is no longer used, given the wood laying across it now?
It could be to stop vehicles parking up and/or stop fly tipping from blocking the footpath down that way is what I've heard suggested.
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Still a bit strange though, would've thought a chicane or a couple of bollards would've done the trick. Just makes the path seem abandoned, IMHO.
As you have seen the signaller in Ingatestone Box lowers the crossing too early, it happens all the time and even I'm starting to get sick of it
Excellent video and crossing 👍
What a good video at Church lane level crossing in Essex by the way ⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪🚂🚂🚂🚂🚄🚄🚄🚄🚅🚅🚅🚆🚆🚆🚝🚝🚝🚝🚋🚋🚋🚋
Brilliant Videos! A really nice location here! 👍🏻
Nice! It must be really hard to get round that curve as it appears to be really tight now with all that vegetation. And one of the enterances has been blocked off now
Great video and nice crossing! Love the location of that one, especially with how it manages to look rather rural and be rather quiet despite being right in the middle of a town!
Very true!
Nice one! Shame the halogens aren’t here anymore 👍
Excellent video and crossing 👍
Great video!
I heard that this crossing is not going to get removed now it’s actually going to be for pedestrians only and all the vehicles will use the new bridge
I too read that article. An accessible footbridge seems to still be part of the plan as of now, but it seems that'll be delayed now as has the main bridge's opening.
@ it would be interesting if it did happen but I don’t think it will now as I think they changed their plans now to keep that crossing for pedestrians only
Love Ingatestone
Great Video!
Awesome videos at Ingatestone level crossing in Essex by the way and good compilations as well.
Awesome Videos!
Just literally passing over that now as the notification came through 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's some timing!
I think that is the best videos of the level crossing compilations ever and what a fantastic video at Bedhampton in Hampshire that was brilliant to see ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚄🚄🚄🚄🚄🚄🚅🚅🚅🚅🚆🚆🚆🚆🚝🚝🚝🚝🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋
Will the blue bmw get a PCN?
Wow, amazing. i go here twice a week, tbf in rush hour. You see loads of misuse and cars overhanging with that dangerous junction because they get so fed up of waiting bettween 4-6 rush hour its insane like 13 trains in 30 minutes i saw once! Nice video btw
I've known this crossing and been going here for a very long time due to having family in Portsmouth. This is a bit of a missue hotspot in the peak. I have seen the barriers held for cars not keeping the crossing clear.
Great video and crossing! Love the old GWEs there, interesting arrangement for the lights on the one side too. Looks like one of the LED gate lights is on its way out, with the dead LEDs almost making an NSL symbol, lol. Neat to see how they dealt with a failure of the track circuit there, recently I was able to catch some locomotives going to rescue a coal train that had stalled on a hill here in Huntsville (due to the rear DPU failing). As the rescue locomotives were having to run through a pair of absolute signals showing a stop indication on their way to the stalled coal train, the train crew had to come to a stop before each absolute signal and receive permission from the dispatcher to pass it. I wonder why some of the LED gate lights over there have those covers over them while others don't. Could it have been a feature they retained from the older halogen gate lights when they first started installing LED gate lights?
These black covers on the boom lights definitely seem retained from previous halogen variants tbh
