Interesting how these wigwags don't do the weird "light dance" that most UK crossings do when activating. They just both light up and immediately start alternating.
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings Is there a reason UK crossings do that light dance? I notice older halogen crossings don't always do them while modern signals almost always do, and the dance isn't always the exact same.
What's the grey boards for behind the (wigwags) lights for? Is it to stop the other road users get confused with the other lights facing the other way or to stop the sun shining on them.
Nice one Caleb! I’ve been following this renewal project and I’ve even seen it before it was officially commissioned. I’m honestly surprised how long it took for them to commission the crossing
Good job with renewal looks very high spec but hate the alarms! Glad not on all the time!😮fab catches.& nice view down the tracks. 😊👍
Excellent video and crossing 👍
Great video and nice crossing! SPX gate mechs there?
They are SPX. Correct.
I like how the flasher relay goes a little slower

That's because this crossing is an obstacle detection crossing, which is also why they are desyncronized
Different logic to normal. I don't know the precise details, though.

@@ArxCyberwolfPC Just something with how their relays are set-up.
Brilliant Videos! 👍🏻👍🏻 I think this is a nice upgrade especially the alarms! Which do you prefer?
Tough call. The current has more standing, however.
Nice one

Those massive grey boards are the 'reflectors' that help the system scan the whole crossing. They're quite unsightly, as a side effect

It was also track alignment too
Yes, most of the work done here was track re-alignment for High Speed Two. The crossing also has new technology, so that took some time to install.
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings ah ok. With the new logic, it’s OD-2 now (as you know). When you went, was the crossing still in local control?
@@vastjonea it was then, as a worker was there 👍
Nice one! I really dont like these moflash, their terrible quality alarms
