You left a Dreamcast running for HOW LONG?! Hahaha!! Dude, I love your videos, you're a true inspiration with the stuff you do and your editing is on point. Kudos for the Toasty guy!
I had one accidentally placed into a box still plugged into power and somehow was turned on still running 2 weeks later when I opened the box moving things around. I was shocked it still worked fine and had no issues! Had it for over 5 years after and still worked until sold it.
I love seeing how you modded the dreamcast, not being into tech I have a question though, I see how GD emu, HDMI port or switching the power transistor to a more efficient and smaller one are undoubtedly better, but I don't totally see the advantage of putting it in USB C. Did this USB C mod made the dreamcast heat less or something? or is it interesting in order to plug it in a portable external battery? just wondering as a technical noob that I am. Thx for your work
it really shouldn't. Use of a buck converter with a sink, set the USB-C PD device to 20v with a trigger module and step down to 12v. USB-C PD is quite frankly a bit of a mess and even though you might be able to get 12v from your USB-C powerbrick it won't be stable and can cause brownouts. It's more stable to pull 20v or 15v (depending on what your brick is capable of) and step down.

Technically, "6 days straight." I needed to pull it early for editing purposes!
Good to see you again!

Another awesome video. Would love to see all retro consoles powered by USB C. That would be so much easier for me lol
Good to see ya again King!
Thanks for the feedback and thought. I agree with you!
I've just replaced my Genesis stock psu with a usb-c trigger board and this video shows up in recommendations!!!
I've been looking to usb c mod a genesis. Will probably make a video about it this year.
Thanks for the comment!

Wonderful, this should be the definitive power supply mod.

Your link for the 12v usb-c pd bring up a 15v pd...is that a correct replacement for the 12v?

percentage could be off since i multiplied it by 1000% in cura. (should be close though)
Enjoy!
You couldn’t put a 5v to 12v step up converter in between the Pico and usb-c
Usb standard 5V 1A?
I wish I had a gram of the knowledge that this guy has lol
good video, but it sounds like you speak with periods instead of commas lol
