    We love the handling of the 1095 in wind and waves, and the ease of an overnight trip. What would you like to know more about on the Jeanneau Merry Fisher / NC 1095?

    I'm waiting on house to be built between Callahan and Yulee. Am interested in annual boat slip. I was looking for NC 1095 walk through videos and came across your channel. I notice Dunbar Yachts is closest dealer. Looking to purchase boat and rent boat slip in Jan or Feb. I have been meaning to drive into Amelia Island Marina to look around.

      If coming from off island, Amelia Island Marina will give you the best access and is fairly well protected. Good luck in your search. Happy to answer any questions.

    I know this video is a year old but wanted to know how you like the boat? Fit and finish quality?

      We love the versatility of the boat - can raise the engines and get close to the beach, can anchor out overnight. We have small maintenance issues that we have to address, such as the shower hose splitting and window shade pieces that need to be replaced. The boat is not high end finish, but delivers a lot for the price. I have not seen another boat with the same versatility/ value ratio (and, I spend a lot of time day dreaming and researching our next boat).

    What is the best Marina on Amelia Island for an NC 1095???

      Are you staying long term or visiting shorter term. If short term - Oasis Fernandina Harbor downtown is a perfect because of access to everything. It is an above average marina we have visited along the ICW for location and amenities. We keep ours at Amelia Island Marina because it is a little more protected.

    How do you know how many feet of chain you put out there? There isnt a chain counter by default on these Merry Fishers right?

    • @echozulucruising
      @echozulucruising  Год назад +1

      I have gotten to counting. Estimating 1 second is about 1 yard/ .9 meters when on constant play. Not perfect. On the list of “someday” projects is marking the chain in 10’ increments.

    Hey Dave, what have you found out to be the fuel burn rate for speeds in the high teens (15-18 knots)?

    • @echozulucruising
      @echozulucruising  Год назад +1

      That is a tough speed on the 1095 as you are not fully up on a plane, just plowing through with a big wake. Likely about .6 miles per gallon or .255 kilometers per liter at 15 knots (and you are making me want to check 4 knot increments now). Once on a plane at about 24 knots it is back up to 1 mile per gallon or .43 kilometers per liter. Under 7 knots and over 24 knots is where our 1095 has been most efficient. The most efficient cruising speed we find is about 4400 rpm’s (which is 26-28 knots). With 2 people and a clean bottom, that is about 1.1 miles per gallons or .47 kilometers per liter.

      @@echozulucruising thanks for the insights. I'm trying to gauge what best speed to do in normal coastal conditions to achieve greatest range and comfort. So if you do 7 knots, what range will you get? Also do you know if there are any difference between the Yamahas and Suzukis? I have Suzukis 300 on mine.

    • @echozulucruising

      @@lotuseletre8724 Performance on our Yamaha 300s is what we can speak to and would have a baseline assumption that the performance parameters are close within a reasonable range with Suzukis. With the 212 gallon / 400 liter fuel tanks, keeping 10% in reserve, that leaves 190 gallons or 360 liters to travel.
      Revising from earlier, at 6 knots we travel about 1.6 mile per gallon (.68 kilometers per liter), so would have an effective range of 304 miles or 489 kilometers with 10% fuel in reserve. At 7 knots that drops down to about 1.3 miles per gallon (.55 kilometers per liter), giving a range of about 247 miles or 398 kilometers.
      At 25 knots we burn about 1 mile per gallon (.43 kilometers per liter), so would have an effective range of about 190 miles or 304 kilometers.
      Maximum range sacrifices the relatively efficient speed the Merry Fisher / NC 1095 delivers on plane at the 25 knot range. We base our trip planning on 25 knots and 1 mile per gallon (.43 kilometer per liter).

      @@echozulucruising just to clarify, the distance #'s you stated are in nautical miles correct?

    • @echozulucruising
      @echozulucruising  Год назад +2

      Yes. All nautical miles. Your asking gave me an excuse to take the boat out and confirm the settings on the Yamaha electric display.
