I agree . As a young teen , my parents and an aunt and uncle loved this album. My parents had it on often while I didn’t understand it nor like it then , busy with nirvana , Metallica, Pearl Jam etc… hearing it now brings me to one of the greatest chapters of my life filled with family and friends which In return helped me to appreciate this unique , odd but beautifully crafted album .
Simple yet profound lyrics nicely sung over wonderful melodies and harmonies. Still love this album more than 30 years (and a disappeared hairline) later.
a lot of music diversity died by design in the early 2000's. Have a friend who was a sound engineer who quit by 2010 due to the shift in what producers were willing to back.
When you go on camping trips you're stuck right out in nature Foraging the forests like a primate Using sharpened tools instead of hotplates Your thumb and forefinger supposed to show you're not a wild beast You can hear their noises at night time They don't have to keep a certain bedtime See in the shapes of my body Leftover parts from the apes and monkeys Sometimes when I lie awake I hear the rainfall on my tent fly I think of all the insects that are sleeping And wonder if the animals are dreaming See in the shapes of my body Leftover parts from the apes and monkeys In the days of the caveman and mammoths and glaciers Bugs and trees were your food then; no pajamas or doctors And when I finally get to sleep, I dream in technicolors I see creatures come back from the Ice Age Alive and being fed inside a zoo cage See in the shapes of my body Leftover parts from the apes and monkeys In the days of the caveman and mammoths and glaciers Bugs and trees were your food then; no pajamas or doctors
I was a teen all through the 90's and loved this band! Corny lyrics but that's actually partly why I liked them a lot. They were very different from anything else. They were fantastic musicians with wonderful harmonics.
Try an allegorical interpretation of the lyrics rather than a literal one and the lyrics won't be nearly as corny. I used to think they were corny until I got a deeper understanding of the artistic aspect of songwriting. It's very much poetry along with great music.
Brad Robert's is just an articulate funny awesome dude from what I've seen in interviews. I love this song, wish a video had been done for it. Great bass line, and so catchy. I just love this album and this song.
Love this entire album. Brings back wonderful memories from a very happy time. Great the way music transports you back in time.

Yes, it's as though we are actually there...like on demand living past family joys. Could be so. Mysterious ways! ❤
This album is 🔥 🔥 FIRE 🔥 🔥

Love this song, very underrated album. Takes me back
This song is beautiful. I love this soundtrack.
Whoever MIXED/Arranged This song,
Made Love with that
Mixing-board . .
Level perfection
This is one of the best-produced albums I have ever heard.
Times never come back for songs never be old
One of the only albums I've bought 3 plus copies of. So great end to end
Maybe the 90’s were the last decade of musical creativity. There seemed to be enough room for everyone and anything.

I totally agree with you. The "music" they make today is vapid and not well thought out. There are exceptions of course.

brings tears
ONE OF THE BEST CREATIONS EVER! this is an example of when the say "it was magic" .. dam right !
One of my favourite songs with the awesome lyrics they are known for 👍😎🇦🇺
Most melodic and poetic description of comparative anatomy ever (see in the shapes of my body, leftover parts from the apes and monkeys…)
This song reminds me how much I want to learn how to play bass. 🔥
Do it
You’re right. Do it! Light up the house. Light up the neighborhood! Play your music.

Corny & deep lyrics at the same time.
@@mikespearwood3914 i find their lyrics rather biting.

@@Brewha2345 their lyrics speak volumes in real life

"leftover parts from the apes, monkeys"
Love this song
I listened to this entire album on magic mushrooms once. It was the most beautiful thing ever
Mushrooms like any plant. A special substance from Nature’s God. Maybe a bit more special. 🙏🏼
Same and for real. The bass is killer throughout and the overall quality is top notch
I did the exact same thing for 3 hours of the 6 hour trip, the first 3 or so I listened to the Wall on loop.
Did you see creatures come back from the ice age, alive and being fed inside a zoo cage?
@@NoNo2Emo yes and I also wondered if the animals were dreaming
Meu Deus que emoção, procuro essa música a décadas 😮🙏

God I loved the 90's. What an album. I remember a gaj bringing in the Mmm single on tape and everyone gathered around him like he was the masiah.
