Weirdly enough, horses actually integrated well in the North American ecosystem, especially in the prairies, they're a lot less destructive than wild pigs, and they didn't compete with the native herbivores.
Actually when the continents were connected with ice during the ice age there was 2 groups of horses that roamed North America. Horses evolved long ago in North America. They just brought them back, so they didn’t have much to really change in the ecosystem they felt more like home.
@@kristine123abc The land bridge between Asia and North America wasn't made out of ice, the sea level was just much lower because more of the ocean was frozen due to Earth's colder temperature. Also, the breed of horses we're used to were not the same as the wild horses that went extinct in North America during the Pleistocene. The horses that were introduced into North America from Europe and Asia were domestic breeds.

2:56-3:03 LOL🤣🤣😂😂
You could say the Colonel couldn't "break his spirit" 😅 (I think i failed the joke lmao)
Love this
диытрппоиворьы
I watched this as a kid and idk why I hide this in my heart and defend it soooooo hard I love the purity of cartoons so much and hate adults ruining it for kids
If he rolled on him with his full weight, the colonel is a goner. Amazing how Spirit, even in this dire situation, didn't want to actually kill.
I remember watching this movie with my fam as a kid this was a good film for a cartoon
I loved this movie as a kid so when I saw they made a Netflix show about it I was so happy, until I watched 5 minutes and realized Netflix didn't watch the movie and ruined the entire thing.
Omfg yes that happened to me too gah no it is so random and not following the movie at all I am so confused about it
Crazy that the Colonel didn't break anything getting rammed into the fence or onto the ground.
Damn! What a fight! 2 great opponents
Spirit is my favorite movie
The soldier in the back: you serious dude? I just told you about all of our problems and your still on about the horse
One of my top 3 favorite movies. Before Disney made what he is a joke
i dont care..
@@Cornstarchrr you never grew up with this movie, did you?
Some might think that the colonel weakening him for 3 days before the ride is cheating, but I believe he actually understands the difference in strength between their species. He's actually just making it fair.
It was a common practice back then, sadly.
And still sometimes used with some trainers and parts of the world.
The sad part is people actually “break” horses this way.. they learn no matter what they do they can’t change their situation and it’s pointless to continue fighting. It’s learned helplessness. So many people traumatize horses “breaking” them this way, instead of gaining their trust and taking it a day at a time. It’s traumatizing. This movie got a few things right about horses and this was one of them. There are some parallels between this movie and real life.
The new spirit movie is utter garbage compared to this magnificent master piece
3:55 Always i feel chills!!
All time favorite movie. Netflix was stupid for the show they came out with
I agree that show is so random
Dad : why don’t you wanna touch his nose ? It’s just a horse
The horse :
