This whole thing was just beautiful and I hope to see more Stalker content from you guys, absolutely killed it, the writing was amazing on its own. The gunplay was extremely satisfying. Or if he already accepted his fate and would give into staying in the dream. What do the other Stalkers think?
***Spoiler*** Dude the horror of seeing the huge mass of heads and the wire collecting the head it just cut off, horrifying, and the fact it plays with your emotions but Crow resolved his conflict by forgiving the drunk driver and that’s what broke the illusion. Fantastic story telling, great suspense, not too much information and not too little, and the effects were breath taking!! This deserves a reward. Seriously.
i honestly think it was their own take on the Miracle Machine tbh. it's pretty horrifying. it's not just "haha funny pickled brain in a jar that emits psi energy" but a fucking mass of severed heads.
The attention to detail in this film is amazing. The accurate suppressors. Seeing the light from the NODs reflecting off the characters eyes. This is shit Hollywood never paid any attention to.
Absolutely incredible the first film I’ve seen anywhere that has mostly correctly radio dialogue and CQB actually done correctly and the atmosphere perfectly resembles the stalker atmosphere
This went way beyond my expectations. Whoever des8gned the landscape shots to fit in with the nature of the Zone really knew what they were doing. The visuals had a pleasing dreamlike quality at times that turned to stark reality at a moments notice. And whoever played Crow did a superb job, I hope he gets plenty of other work. Thank you to the team for working on this and bringing their vision of the Zone to us. You all did a wonderful job.
The only other STALKER fan film that I really love was the animated "Contract" from SODAZ, so finally being able to see this REALLY makes me more pumped for STALKER 2. Great work of art! Good hunting, Stalkers.
I haven't watched the original stalker film, and haven't played the games, so no idea how faithful to the spirit of the game. Coming into it with zero background knowledge, I thoroughly enjoyed it
It's very close to the game, also the movie, books, and games are all very far appart. But this is based on the game series and it's very accurate. Would have been Nice to get some mutant action though
I read "Roadside Picnic" but I haven't played any of the STALKER games. I can tell a lot of effort and attention to detail went into this. Excellent work.
if you liked roadside picknick then you will probably like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games aswell. Some of the novels are great aswell, but at some point (when the writer changes) they become pretty lame sadly
A story catering to the game properly, military detail that most standalone military movies miss and S tier acting from everyone involved. Evan good sir and your whole team should be given an award for this.
@@sandberg_01 I'm thinking they got ex-military or Law Enforcement to play the mercs, not "Actors". That way they don't have to teach some person who's never done it CQB, because SHEEESH were those scenes clean.

Me and my brother watched this together on election night. We enjoyed it, and I loved the Wendigoon cameo. I kept waiting for him to pop up again. This delivered, congrats guys!
As a vet, it was a real treat to see a lot of attention to detail to things from a tactical side. Down to even small things like the arm squeeze when going in to clear the building. This could have easily devolved into "cool guys with guns", but a lot of care went in, and it shows. Amazing job, especially great acting from the lead, just, wow.

Incredibly well done to everyone involved. You brought more to the table in 1hr of film than hollywood has in 10yrs. Everything from the atmosphere to the music numbers was awesome.
Crow's mental battle against the Hive Mind mirrored the climax of "Pretty Deadly: The Rat" in a lot of ways, and they both make a point that I really like: Forgiveness is the only way to be free of obsession. In Crow's case, its his obsession with the death of his wife/child and the man who killed them. Even after torturing the man, (I assume, it seemed from the way he acted in the dream he'd done it before, could be wrong though), Crow still could not let go of the pain of losing his wife and child. It was an outlet for his grief, but it also stoked it. Kept it burning long after it should have burnt down. Its only by choosing to forgive and let go that he is able to free himself from this anchor and resist the temptation presented by the Hive Mind. However, like in "Pretty Deadly", we also see those who are unable, or more accurately, unwilling to break free of their anchors. Brain could not let go of his obsession, with the idea of a better world, and thus he was consumed. (Another mostly surface level connection): Reaper of Obsession and Hive Mind both collect peoples minds/information. connections connections connections, I am very happy :))
@@sicklysphaghetti461 Sure thing! Its actually a series of graphic novels called "Pretty Deadly". The best reading order is Volume 1 "The Shrike", Volume 2 "The Bear", and lastly Volume 3 "The Rat". Would highly recommend you give it a read!
The muffled distant gunfire during that whole raid sequence in the red light from 28:22 is one of my absolute favourite parts of the whole movie honestly. And that he says some people just have the sense for them and don't need bolts or detectors, Baddie apparently had a rare skill very few who enter the zone ever get...
This whole thing was just beautiful and I hope to see more Stalker content from you guys, absolutely killed it, the writing was amazing on its own. The gunplay was extremely satisfying.
My favorite part was when crow forgave his wife's killer, which freed him from the zone, I'm pondering if it was testing him, trying to see if he was ready to leave.
Or if he already accepted his fate and would give into staying in the dream.
What do the other Stalkers think?
"A stalker destroyed it, killed the executives"
not just a stalker...
marked one what da hell
Strelok streloking
Strelok doing some tomfoolery
He smoked those fools
***Spoiler***
Dude the horror of seeing the huge mass of heads and the wire collecting the head it just cut off, horrifying, and the fact it plays with your emotions but Crow resolved his conflict by forgiving the drunk driver and that’s what broke the illusion. Fantastic story telling, great suspense, not too much information and not too little, and the effects were breath taking!! This deserves a reward. Seriously.
That was the most in-universe villain they could have possibly come up with. Simply amazing
I wish we could see such a vicious final enemy in the game. Horrible but impressive
Felt more like SCP than stalker tbh
i honestly think it was their own take on the Miracle Machine tbh. it's pretty horrifying. it's not just "haha funny pickled brain in a jar that emits psi energy" but a fucking mass of severed heads.
Ah yes, the psychological horror of "being given everything you ever wanted" and the strength to reject it, to grow as a person.
It was the eeriness of the wilderness they were in. Its earth yet alien at the same time, with such hightened tension. The atmosphere was fantastic.
The only other STALKER fan film that I really love was the animated "Contract" from SODAZ, so finally being able to see this REALLY makes me more pumped for STALKER 2. Every single detail here and even the grain that makes it look like there's radiation just shows the love and passion that the crew had to make this film, and I commend you all for it. Great work of art!
Good hunting, Stalkers.
"Contract" is just insane.
@julesgro8526 It just felt a lot more STALKER honestly
Watching a squad clear rooms properly in a film (28:00) ngl gave me goosebumps. Well done! Great attention to detail all throughout.
And seeing them implement an actual saw/lmg instead of just slapping a drum mag into an ar was nice
Do you know the meaning of this gesture by the two leading soldiers at 27:52?
@@dotFabian It's a gesture to signal who's taking first on an entry without speaking or taking your hands off the weapon.
@@pilotgrinley8703 Thank you a lot for explaining this to me! :)
I haven't watched the original stalker film, and haven't played the games, so no idea how faithful to the spirit of the game.
Coming into it with zero background knowledge, I thoroughly enjoyed it
It's spot on.
Spot on
It's very close to the game, also the movie, books, and games are all very far appart. But this is based on the game series and it's very accurate. Would have been Nice to get some mutant action though
I read "Roadside Picnic" but I haven't played any of the STALKER games.
I can tell a lot of effort and attention to detail went into this.
Excellent work.
shame its not true to the actual games, just GAMMAtards.
if you liked roadside picknick then you will probably like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games aswell. Some of the novels are great aswell, but at some point (when the writer changes) they become pretty lame sadly
My favorite part is when Strelok said "I'm STALKERING" and turned into the chosen one
You were the chosen one!
You forgot "time"
bro was NOT the chosen one
MARKED ONE WHAT DA HEYLLL
A story catering to the game properly, military detail that most standalone military movies miss and S tier acting from everyone involved.
Evan good sir and your whole team should be given an award for this.
I thought the acting was lacking in basically everyone but Crow and Brain, nonetheless great film!
@@sandberg_01 I'm thinking they got ex-military or Law Enforcement to play the mercs, not "Actors". That way they don't have to teach some person who's never done it CQB, because SHEEESH were those scenes clean.
@ They were, but I would prefer good acting since it is a narrative film after all
@@sandberg_01 Not saying I wouldn't prefer slightly better acting, I was just giving the reason the mercs fell a little flat on dialog.
@ no worries man i got you
I love how the monolith soldiers are shown in this the gun battle scenes are amazing it really captures the feeling and showing of S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Beyond impressed. No way a AAA studio or mega corpo would have managed to capture the feel and look of the zone like you boys did. Absolutely nailed this!
Hollywood continues to deteriorate in movie quality, while deliberately corrupting their audience.
Meanwhile independant film makers like this continue to improve and make high quality content that's mind blowing in what they can achieve
I really appreciate this comment, thank you from the team ❤

Been watching this channel since Dollhouse, showed all my friends your first couple of films. I'm in the Army and work on a lot of the NVG's and other support items you guys use for these films, like the PEQ-15s and such. The attention to detail in this is amazing, been obsessed with this channel for as long as I can remember. I cant wait to see more from you.
I'm definitely playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. after this one
Good hunting, stalker.

stalker 2 is just around the corner
Let's go!
Amazing job, especially great acting from the lead, just, wow.
completely forgot this was an hour and was so sad when it ended. great work y'all a stalker movie is the only thing ive been needing my entire life and y'all executed it wonderfully
The gentleman who played Crow was really excellent. Great casting here. Would love to see him in more.
NERRRD, sorry just kidding. I was confused why brain was gone and not crow, thanks for the thought
I'm not familiar with the other movie you're talking about could you point me to it?
@@sicklysphaghetti461 Sure thing! Its actually a series of graphic novels called "Pretty Deadly". The best reading order is Volume 1 "The Shrike", Volume 2 "The Bear", and lastly Volume 3 "The Rat". Would highly recommend you give it a read!
ITS YOU CROW, YOU'RE THE SHADOW OF THE ZONE!
Peak Evan Royalty. And the sound design in this film is 😘🤌
The muffled distant gunfire during that whole raid sequence in the red light from 28:22 is one of my absolute favourite parts of the whole movie honestly. As a massive gun nerd who loves gun based audio and nuances, it felt incredibly immersive. The fact that they are "random," and not just a loop was also really nice. Well done!
They really took STALKER by heart. Those Monolith mfs are bullet spongy dawgs
*to heart
ima need about 10 more of these followed by 1 a week for the rest of my life.
this was so well done and put together. i kept checking how much time I had left hoping it would never end
Saw it on early release and it just made me wanting more it was so good! I didn’t want the experience to end and easily would have been bought in for 3+ hour film. Another amazing job. Can’t wait to see the public reaction to this amazing film!
I must say, that for something that is basically a fan-made project, without the funding of a huge Hollywood studio, amazing job you did here.
Yes, it could have been a bit better here and there, maybe a bit longer, but I am glad that we got something in the end.
Saw y'all in Arlington it was awesome, I'm glad I can finally share this to my buds that haven't seen it yet. I was blown away by the details you all put into the film.

Huge Stalker fan here. Thank you for this wonderful adaptation of my favourite game.
The atmosphere was so on point, the film really immerses you into the Zone.
The emotions of characters like Crow felt so raw and real.
I can tell so much love went into this project.
Better than any Hollywood film I've seen this year by far
Bloody fantastic. Loved every minute.
The little Specks of radiation in the “camera” throughout the show was a very fine touch to detail.
Homage to the Soviet Chornobyl tapes.

These guys managed to touch every fiber of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ; from "Roadside picnic" to Tarkovsky, to "our" side of shooter and even some "cheeky breeky" was present.
I started watching with "hmmm..." but soon got pulled in, the atmosphere was just right and engagingly immersive ...
Bravos !

That's what I was thinking too! They captured the beauty and essence of the zone and yet how dangerous it is and how it can change at will. It was amazing.
Same Same. Tho little bit wish the Monolith commander would have Gauss rifle.....or make it even more fun a RPG.....like in the corridors of the NPP.
I agree. I came here expecting GAMMA tacticool slop with absolute disregard for the source Material, but this was quite good
I think you watched something else.
@@Kminek246 It would have been a brief shootout if the commander had a Gauss rifle tbh 🤣
I felt like this film took themes from the Roadside Picnic book, the Tarkovsky movie and the games in a very engaging way. Good job guys, loved it!
Yea, there are lots of wide "people walking" shots in here, just like in Tarkovsky's movie!
STALKER overall is based on Roadside Picnic and Stalker (1979).
@@mcfeddle it's overall "inspired by" & not "based on". The only thing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. & Roadside Picnic have in common is a concept of the Anomalous Zone & its valuable artifacts, similarities pretty much end there.
Roadside picnic! Fuck yes!
I'm so glad you said something because either read that in prison and it really stuck with me and I thought I was the only one going to think that
