All I'm going to say is don't go into it expecting to get everything you want straight away instead know that things take time.. as they say Rome wasn't built in a day

things I've learned from all Twitch tips videos:
1. have a nice looking channel and overlays with a color theme to make people curious about you and your streams, good panel order, and schedule
2. have a good audible mic, people don't mind not seeing you if they hear your voice clearly
3. talk about things you're passionate about and try to pull topics up once in a while to get a conversation going
4. have a group chat outside of Twitch so viewers can talk to you and get to know you whenever you're not streaming
5. have social media so people get updated about interesting stuff you come across, or stream ideas and whenever a stream can't take place (or is on a different time the same day) because something happened
6. enjoy what you stream and relax. viewers, subs and followers will come over time if they see you enjoy streaming
Hopefully, this wasn't too long or i didn't forget something, but I tried to make a decent overview of the most common tips people give to help you out :)

Getting followers is the hardest part!
I literally just hit Affiliate on the 6th of this July, but even if this video was geared for struggling content creators to achieve this level, I still needed this introspection and I still wanted to be humbled because I feel like I just learned how to walk in this journey. I’m already preparing for the lows even after breaking thru a monumental chapter, you know, cause - consistently need to put in work. A certain part of this video hit home cause my last stream literally started w/ troubleshooting to group chat on Discord for 10ish mins (to play Dead By Daylight) and there was a part of me that still needs to learn that app. I tried my best to engage w/ the viewers in the time being, and by the end we also needed to restart our Discord a couple times just cause it was acting up on its own too. 😂 I’ll be sure to be prepared before stream next time. I didn’t realize it could get so complicated. Lesson! I’m so grateful to have run into this f’kin gem of a video. 🙏🏽 so much, Gael.
I have made a second burner twitch to stream to myself to first handedly experience what my viewers would. It helped me with troubleshooting because I wasn't worried about regular viewers tuning in and think wtf

Wow. I gotta say, this video just hit me. You are probably the only person on RUclips who talks about things as they are, pure honesty. I’m really glad this is not another one of those “you need to grow on YT first to grow on Twitch”! I’ve been streaming for 23 days, everyday and even twice a day. I haven’t reached affiliate yet but I started streaming just because my friend told me I could since I play so much. Some things are easy to figure out / improve by yourself if you put work into it but your video just gave me some fresh ideas in case I would actually start wondering about affiliate. I think everyone should see this vid before they even stream! Really well done.

Your bot doesn't count as viewer. The views can be the same people. So if you have 3 views: It could be the same person seeing 3 different streams form you ;-) It took me 3 months to get affiliate, that was two years ago. I thought that if I had good content people would come and see me. That wasn't the case at all. It took me quite some time to find out about discord communities. That really helped me get of the ground. I am at an average of 30 now and I see a lot more people that are able to find me trough the browse feature.

Gael, I just want to thank you for putting some of the best and honest advice for streaming. I’ve gone from 0 to 1200 followers and 15-20 viewers consistently in 1 MONTH! I’ve watched almost every video of yours and I actually wrote these things down, I’ve used your overlays too, they’re the best value overlays for small streamers. I stream on mixer and I’m 13 so I most likely won’t get affiliate/partnership. However, That’s not going to stop me from continuing to stream. I never expected to be so successful in streaming. I’ve watched you and alpha gaming for 4 months now and you both give great advice to people just starting out. You have helped me get follows, views, viewers, regulars and outstanding stream quality. I love the tough love energy of this video. If you watch Gael's videos and watch wild4games videos there is no reason you can't make affiliate fast. I did it in a month. The only person that will get you there is you.

This was pretty good. The views of the channel during the live is actually a really useful stat. I'm affiliate for quite some time, but have currently 4 regulars. But I see those views. I know what I produce live isn't that good yet. I have to work on it.

I've actually started streaming 2 weeks ago. The average viewers like you said is not hard to get if u get friends and family watch or have your stream in the background. However, i've been having issues with Followers tbh. I've slowed down considerably compared to the first week. But i'm not discouraged, I stream the same time each week, i know the followers will come eventually. Great video man :)

I alredy got like 7 viewers that always go and watch me and chat whit me after 3 streams and the only thing I have done is conect whit people and started random arguments and as soon as I do that people join in. In the chat and other people are coming in to my stream. The tips I got from you realy helped btw!
This has really put things into perspective. I feel like the discoverability factor plays a huge part in twitch growth too. Something I gotta work on somehow.
It’s so important to grab peoples attention because nowadays everyone has such a short attention span. You have to constantly be on your toes and create a fun environment that brings a certain feeling to the viewer that will bring them back

hey im new streamer from indonesia. i just wanna say you helping me so much to start streaming thankyou!
I had this video come up because i've watched a few of yours before Gael. Some good tips in there but i personally find it very difficult to stream, where say i'm playing Fortnite and i'm feeling i'm a pretty decent player at the game, but moment to moment narration and "Hype" are diificult to create. It's like being in a square room talking to yourself. There's literally nobody in chat saying anything to bounce off or create topics to discuss. All you really have is your gameplay and sometimes you can talk on it and it fits, but there’s many times you can't. So what advice would you give to that sorta streaming? Do we just constantly talk to ourselves out loud? I personally find that weird. I personally have tried to stand back and so on, but i stream game to game with emotion. Fortnite brings out some toxicity but when i tried a niche title. I still wasn't seeing traction even though 100% i was 180 to how i usually stream. I have been on RUclips for over 1 year. Started with a PS4 and smartphone to content create. Still have that setup but found better ways to use it. I just am not getting the growth or traction i feel i should have got by now. I even turned to Instagram to boost myself for RUclips & Twitch. So at this stage, i'm basically thinking long & hard about calling it. Thanks for some of the help in your vids Gael. Like you said, had to start to even fail right.
