Which detachment(s) do you plan on trying out first? Deceptors are looking pretty wild to me, though *finally* being able to run a Cultists themed army is most definitely something I'm going to be trying!!
Honestly probably still going to be running my basic chaos "not magic knights" list, with all the 5+ sustained or lethal goodness. Unless heaps changes from there.
Im really excited to see how the black legion turns out, thst and i want to see how they chsnge the word bearers detachment. I can't wait to see if any detachment supports possessed as well
The Alpha legion(Deceptors) and Red Corsairs(Renegade raiders) detachments looks like they'll be pretty fun to use with different playstyles. I'm looking forward to seeing what Vashtorr's detachment will do (also hopefully his sheet will make him an actual threat T-T)
If they drop the ball on Vashtorr again I'll riot. At the *very* least I hope they give his a hammer a proper name lol Great point on the Corsairs / AL, their detachment rules are "generic" enough that it'd work with any playstyle; I like that a whole lot actually! Ngl I'm incredibly hyped to have an excuse to toss Cultists on the board w/their detachment too though. I don't care if it's competitive or not, waited like a decade now so I'm going to give them a shot regardless
@@fatarchon Third times the charm for Vashtorr😭. Really hoping they'll update him and Lord Discord to do more than put a scuff mark on vehicles lmao. It does sound interesting that they said "Vashtorr's contracts and augmentations" in the article. Yea honestly I was never a huge fan of cultist but that infiltrator buff seems like it'll be pretty fun to use them as a wall, Dark Commune might see some more play again since they can advance and charge.
I’ve enjoyed Night Lords and played them in 9th so I’m looking forward to Dread Talons. The FellHammer Siege-Host also looks fun too just from the name. Great Vid as always. Really looking forward to this codex. Hopefully Vashtorr and the Disco lord get some new rules to make them popular again.
They're going to be great into Ork hordes too. Not only for blasting their blobs but also their transports (or literally anything else they bring hah). Hoping they see a slight points drop but I'm not holding my breath
I think Alpha Legion will be super good competitively. I'm really excited for the vashtorr detachment - I love daemon engines and the boy himself and I'll prolly end up playing it even if it sucks xD
From what we've seen so far, yeah I'd agree AL are looking like the most competitive option (with the Renegades right behind them!) - I'm super ultra curious what the other legion's detachment rules are going to be tho, wouldn't be surprised if there's a 'range focused' one that tempts a lot of folks. Also curious what changes they make to the army rule! I'm with you tho, Chaos Cults & Vash I'm going to try out no matter how bad their rules end up hah. The cult one looks perfect for casual games tho, I LOVE excuses to run crappy fluffy armies & they look to fit the bill perfectly lol
I'm liking the look of the Red Corsairs type detatchment. +1 ap and assault on all guns? Yikes! But does the +1 to hit, if you remain stationary with heavy weapons still apply?
Ive always loved Red Corsairs as it is, so them getting good rules is def a perk hah. For the +1tH, so long as the weapon profile has & you remained stationary then yup you'd still get the bonus! If you Infiltrated the unit too I believe they should get the buff as well
I really hope the "Black Legion" get a 5+ crit against target on objectives when dark pacting or something like that as part of their detachment rule. Strats we've seen so far seem pretty "meh" for the most part and especially for the "Black Legion"..
Agreed, the previews didn't really show us anything of much value with them. Those strats are utilitarian & all but the detach rule is going to make or break them. 5+ Crits would be nice, maybe they'll luck out with rr1 hit & wound or the sort - otherwise those other detachments are already looking pretty damn good so it'll be a tall order
@@fatarchon yea, it looks to be a fun book with kots of flavourful options. Personally I'm more than fine if the book ends up being just shy of the 50% win-rate, as long as it is flavourful and fun to play. Sire there are glaring things I'd like to see addressed (such as Abaddon's design where he seems to be more effective hanging back on a role more fitting for Perturabo than, actually takingmpoint and having rules that actually matter for his bodyguard unit for example), but first impressions are tenttively pretty promising. One is hopeful at least. If all the 5+ crit options are indeed gone, then the Helbrute is perhaps looking a bit meh again as well. We'll see. Fingers crossed :-)
Iron Warriors have always been considered more of a shooty / grindy / vehicle heavy CSM legion. One of the golden rules for collecting 40k is to pickup stuff *you* like, units power levels wax & wane all the time so make sure you like how something looks lol. With that out of the way - if I was going Iron Warrior heavy I'd definitely consider a Warpsmith for my HQ (or a Lord Discordant, it's a beautiful model but not too competitive atm). I'd probably get some Cultists as their meatshields (IW's loved doing this with their worthless Cultists in the lore) & then Havocs for infantry. Beyond that whichever vehicles look cool to you, but the big one for IW would be the Vindicator or pretty much anything with a big ass gun :P Vindicators are very strong in the game right now too, tho they're hard to buy as they're so popular so a Predator is a fine alternative. Daemon Engines like the Defiler & Venomcrawler would mesh well with them. IW's would also LOVE Obliterators for murdering stuff & they'd be great for a new army as they're sort of anti everything. IW's would definitely make use of Terminators too. A fun resource for learning more lore is 1d6chan, it's a wiki that had oodles of info on anything 40k as well. If you want a more competitive unit that isn't that fluffy for IW's, Warp Talons are really good & useful.
@fatarchon ok, that helps a lot. Thank you so much. I don't think I have any other questions. Unless you have some stategy ideas for IW, but if not DWAI.
I really hope Vashtorr gets a nice make over

@@sambojinbojin-sam6550 my fingers are crossed we still get access to 5+ Dark Pacts too
Either Deceptors or Renegades. Playing EC I think both of them fit thematically but I super love deploying in the mid field.
I play Night Lords, but honestly i like the Red Corsairs detachment rule a lot. Will definitely be experimenting once i have the book.

Oh man, I have 3 Disco Lords who haven't left the shelf this edition.
I'm really hoping we get a hero hammer detachment I can run them in
3:20 Forgefiends are still the goats. Sure, we don't get 5+ crits, but -4AP and Assault on 3xEctoplasm cannons still works, even at 200pts.

Hello, i'm new to warhammer. I want to run FHSF/ iron warriors. Could you give me some units i might want to start with.
