I discovered Shawn Lane Last year! I have been hooked on his Music, and I have been learning as much as I can within the realm of my abilities. Mattias Is amazing, and I assume he is inspired by Mr. Lane. I am now subscribed and I will be watching and listening closely so I can assimilate what I am able to, and what appeals to me! Mattias seems incredibly humble, considering his astronomical skills! Thank you for this channel sir!! 🎸🎭🥁🕊🏴‍☠️😎💜🌎

Ive been doing the same thing on my fretless Jazz bass for years.
Setup with distortion, delay and a flanger effect to sound like a klaxon siren. I pluck the open E and let it ring for a whole note then, with my palm slam the open E down onto the Duncan quarter pounder in passive. It gives a repeating echo of a small pop,pop,pop,pop....for 5 repeats then a whole rest and stop...and again....
    Great effect.
