We praise children in order to build up their self-esteem. They are more likely to take risks and be more creative and expressive if they know that there are people who will love their work (Poker Chip Theory). *But here's where teaching and parenting differ.* We teachers are taught not to praise a child's work by saying "Wow, that's so good!" or "I love it!" We have to say specific things, like "I like how you made the tail curvy down here" or "I like how big the eyes are". We are also trained to give the child the chance to explain what they made in more detail. We can ask questions like "What is this? What does it do? Where are the people going? Why does it have five legs? Who gets to live there? How many colors did you use?" The child is the artist, so let them explain their creation and their thought process. It's honestly very cool to see children explain their drawings! Even if it's just a doodle mess, the child doesn't see it as such (depending on their age and developmental stage).
if you want to achieve otherwise, just yell kids the 4 horsemen spells: if you want to make yourself painful, keep going down 1: you're bad 2: give up 3: get a job 4: can't even do something simple
6:09 that is the firework sound, as you can also see in the back, 对联 at the front doorr is for Chinese New Year, but this video is placed in the countryside of China according to the architecture
9:21 This lady has true lead-protagonist form, the confident slight-smile, and the sleeveless-but-classy dress (while still wearing her purse). She’s got that heroine street-fighter energy, and she knows it. When is her character model going to be motion-tracked for Tekken 9? 😎 … Maybe we’ll see a trilogy movie with her, then crossovers with John Wick / James Bond? (As Jeanette Boudica? Look up the last name ;-) ).

@@StevenHe can you do me a big favour and subscribe to this guy? He's a professional at the slipper (he's not too naughty so I know for a fact that he got his techniques for sending failures to Jesus from u and I believe he really deserves it)
According to the Chinese videos I watch, that not the sound trying to walk up people (it definitely could wake people up easily), but they're actually mimicing the sound of a kind of firework, the one that has the tiny rocket tied to a stick, makes the same screeching sound when lighted, and the bang is the exploding.
The art part is relatable enough, I used to draw shitty pictures and my art teacher would say, "Redo it" and after 5-6 tries I got it right and yeah it improved and I learnt to get it correct in my first try.
I just had a 1s flashback to an episode of Bluey that covered that exact thing! If praised for the thing=keep doing and practicing the thing. If ridiculed for the thing=immediately stop doing the thing, never going to get better.
When I was a kid there was a magazine for kids were kids could send their drawings and some would be put on the last page, so I made a drawing and showed it to my dad and said proudly:look how much better my drawing is than theirs, and he said: yours is just as bad as theirs, did not spare my feelings at all 😂
7:22 When I was five it was May4th and it was Star Wars day at the Zoo and I started lightsaber fighting my freind outside the Gorilla enclosure and it started whamming the glass with a pool noodle and then trying to jump the 30 foot wall.

Man, in the last video of the skinny girl punching hard. She might be a boxer or waas, the way she winds up, measures and doubletakes before delivering a punch is something you end up doing when you are either new, refining your form or rediscovering it IF your punch feels off. There's push from the toes and turn of a hip, twist of a torso. Full motion too. And that's why human body can be helluva terrifying, we can put out so much force when muscles work together.
Hi Steven, the part at 6:09 was actually a man mocking firework sounds (cuz he can't afford them), not really trying to wake anyone up. The snow in the background proves the time to be around January (new years) in the colder part of China. Hope you notice this. Love your content!
That monkey was having the time of its life, they were playing with it, not provoking it 😂 They are literally like three year olds, just with more strength
5:03 as funny as that picture is yes... Humiliating your children for the things they love does damage them. For all we know that kid may have been headed towards being one of the best artists the world has ever seen. But now she won't do any art because Dad laughed at her.
Childhood praise is actually a complex issue, praise of output can actually be detrimental, but praise of effort improves outcomes and the tone of self talk. It makes sense that a collectivist culture would abhor praise, because it generates self-esteem which leads to individuality.

I have a short answer for praising the kid’s work, and it is because no one else is expected to do it but the parents.
if you want to achieve otherwise, just yell kids the 4 horsemen spells:
