From now until the end of the year, all Tips and Donations made on my videos will go to my son's middle school to support families who might need help sending their kids on the Spring 2025 school trip to Washington, D.C. I’ll also be matching every donation
Oh my goodness Andress... AKA Mr 3D Gloop. Way way way too kind of you sir! And sorry you weren't able to make it as a kid but this donation pretty much guarantees another kid will be able to go!
My guess is that HR starts for High Restitution. The coefficient of restirution is a measure of the elasticity of a collision between two bodies. Higher restitution = more bouncy.
Hey Uncle Jessy, I wanted to say that I really appreciate you referring/linking to the channel! I have always been a fan of your awesome videos - you are an inspiration to us smaller channels. Keep up the amazing work!
First time watching any updates on these since you guys first started toying with the idea. I knew you'd figure it out. This looks about 90% how the official ball behaves. It won't be long until they're perfected! I always thought it was ludicrous that they would ask for so much money for one.
I might print one and give it to my brother and he’s friends to see how well it holds up, if they can’t wear through it (aside from falling on it) then it is basically indestructible
This is awesome! I am going to buy some of this filament for myself for Christmas. Probably from AliExpress. I’m hoping I don’t waste $50 on it and the print doesn’t fail. I read on Makerworld that the Biqu filament doesn’t stick to glue stick. I wonder if putting down painters tape would work? Otherwise I will probably use my extra build plate.
At about 6:37 after your second drop test, looks like you picked up the Biqu first and then switch hands so then during the dribble looks like it’s the Biqu you liked more.
I'm obsessed with these airless basketballs and idk why. But I'm curious what it takes to break them with these new filaments? Is it just like inevitable they break after so many bounces? Does it break if you throw it against the wall as hard as you can? Can you drop kick it and it break? I can't get a good sense of it's longevity and I get everyone's being gentle with it given the time+money it takes to make one of these now lol. But that time+cost is why I'm curious if these are just a novelty of being like a basketball that won't last a week of 'use' or they have some lifespan on them.
hi guys if you want to print this pla hr or any flexible material i recommend to use normal pla on the first layer if you want to remove anything easily from the build plate
Love all your videos. Would you guys consider making a video on all these different build plate materials (PEP, PES, PEL, PEB......) ive been seeing lately. I cant seem to find any videos on what they are or best used for.
Have you ever tired printing one on a BIQU glacier plate with no supports? Maybe I don't full understand why we have to put so many supports? is it's only about moving?
When you said the Dudv2 may be better than the Biqu, did you account for bending down and the balls ending up in opposite hands as they started? How can you tell the two apart now?
Hey Uncle Jessy, Do you think you can do a video talking about using ORCASLICER and the setup in program? I made the switch from Cura but having difficulty finding good solid tutorials for setup and also profiles for specifically Elegoo Neptunes any and all models! that would be awesome! I like the features but having trouble! Thanks!
Is the one printed in the ataraxia flexible PLA the same model with the inner hexagons as well? Pritning one in the same filament now, looks like it's going to be a disappointment based on this video
@UncleJessy i still stay in contact with the university team i played for. It would be fun to film a practice with them using it and getting a reaction
@@UncleJessy Thanks for clarifying, I wasn't aware of the fact that AMS doesn't like TPU filaments. I presumed there was a reason I just couldn't figure out what it could be. 🙂
Very cool video and thank you so much for the shoutout! I was wondering why my views/subs went up, now I've seen your video and it explains a lot😅 Btw, HR stands for high resilience (ability to return energy = bounce)
What about PEBA not sure why people continue trying pla when that has been identified with a better bounce and is about the same price or slightly cheaper than the biqu plahr
Thank you for the good video. We all know that the digital market is creating a different revolution in the world economy. I earn up to $45,000 per week trading in the digital market. You are so awesome! Always wanted to go to DC as a kid and missed my trip because my family couldn't afford it. Hope this helps!

Trust me when i say you do not want to set foot in woke DC IM 2024. STAY safe and atay away. If this was in the 80's 90's sure.
Grunkle Jessy! So awesome of you to support your local school and help students visit the US Capital. Tip/thanks sent!
Much appreciated mate! I have such fond memories from my school trip way back in the 90s 😂

These are dope but I’m going to wait and see if other manufacturers make this kind of filament or a price drop

You're doing an awesome job covering the ins and outs of a bunch of the different materials out there! Seriously amazing work!
@UncleJessy much appreciated 😁
Nice Buc-Ee’s Hoodie! 👍

Was awesome seeing you are the maker fair, keep up the cool work!
Thanks, you too!
omg I want to print this so badly! 😭
I like how you gave a shout-out to those smaller creators! 🥰
You should! It’s an awesome project and always love helping bring some attention to other makers
would be cool to get people's reactions to the basketball at the park
I bought the DUDV2 filament the other day and just received it. Did you need to dry the filament to get a good print?
It's best to do that just to be sure, yeah
It's best to dry them..... I however did not haha was all good.
The real test is gonna be letting a troop of teenage boys at a park have at it for a week.
🤣I give it 1 hour
I might print one and give it to my brother and he’s friends to see how well it holds up, if they can’t wear through it (aside from falling on it) then it is basically indestructible
Cue Polymaker making this kind of filament in 3...2...1... 🤣

Try and order some flexible tpc filament and 3D print an airless basketball and do a video about that this week please
Looking into that now thanks!
After trying it out at the Maker Fair I got to get a spool and print one myself! Would you still recommend a glue stick with the DUDV2?
Totally! Also, I should have had some QR codes at the show for people to scan for it as I had soooo many people asking after bouncing them

I just printed the Wisdream flexi tough filament and it was great. Took 72hrs.
I literally just pulled that up on amazon a few mins ago based on someone elses suggestion. Bounces well?
@@UncleJessyYes. Really good. I couldn't get the brim like yours. I did print it on a Qidi Plus 4. Posted a reply on X.
HR = Heat Resistant

just subbed!!! awesome content just got my neptune 4 plus!!!
Congrats and thanks! Nice Object Show avatar ;)
Ordered… thanks for making me spend money 💰 😂😂😂
🤣😂 sorry not sorry ;)

If that plate that had the supports bonded to it is a og bambu plate, you should be able to fix it by ripping the pei sheet and putting a new one on.
For that build plate could you heat it up then try to remove? 🤔
tried it and it helped a bit. I might do that more and just keep pulling at it
I’m holding back the urge to buy this
Inserts Palpatine GIF.... DO IT!

Can you try with the new Bambu TPU for AMS?
I have not yet! But I'm very excited about the potential of mixing TPU + other materials
@@UncleJessy I made the Pickleball model it came out really nice no stringing but not made to bounce like a BBALL.

Hello, how is the test of the IdeaFormer IR3 V2 printer going? Can you reply to us?
a G10 build plate fully releases prints once cooled (talking from experience)
Wonder what printer was used for this. Looks like a Bambu P1S but not sure
Did you print it directly on the P1S or through an AMS?
Directly off the back. Too flexible for the ams I believe
Is the one printed in the ataraxia flexible PLA the same model with the inner hexagons as well? Pritning one in the same filament now, looks like it's going to be a disappointment based on this video
What is the weight comparison to a normal 29.5 in. Basketball?
🤦♂ totally forgot to do that. Without checking I believe they weigh slightly more
@UncleJessy i still stay in contact with the university team i played for. It would be fun to film a practice with them using it and getting a reaction
Hope this helps the kids go to DC.
Thanks so much for the donation!
Flip the build plate. It is way easier to remove from a smooth metal surface.
How well is it compared to the peba S Print ? I think if i should try peba s with this Model.
With that high of a cost, was there a reason not to print supports in a different material?
That would only really work on the Prusa type system with multi tool heads as far as I know. Because TPU like materials will clog up the Bambu AMS
@@UncleJessy Thanks for clarifying, I wasn't aware of the fact that AMS doesn't like TPU filaments. I presumed there was a reason I just couldn't figure out what it could be. 🙂
Would this work on the bambu lab a1?
Yeppers!
which filament was the ball in the shots with you outside shooting hoops?
It was a mix of both balls. I was swapping between both.
Very cool video and thank you so much for the shoutout!
I was wondering why my views/subs went up, now I've seen your video and it explains a lot😅
Btw, HR stands for high resilience (ability to return energy = bounce)
Buccees!!!!
buccees for the win
could this work on a regular a1?
Yup!! Should work but I don’t think will feed through the ams life so will have to use the spool holder
Hope there will be be a brown filament to make airless footballs
I was mentioning that to someone else... why isnt there a Brown option for these?!
Dudv2 had brown for a bit. They will get it again.
What about PEBA not sure why people continue trying pla when that has been identified with a better bounce and is about the same price or slightly cheaper than the biqu plahr
Bambu labs just bought out an ams tpu filament that i think is 60d ,might be good .
I will check it out
Ironically, the less bounce moght be better for games, even when trying to keep it in the cage you just dont lol
Like your videos.
Where I can find these models to print?
He has it linked under the video description
6:36 You switched balls here btw.
Lol kinda ruined the comparison by doing that
Oh shoot! You’re right! So similar in bounce but it does seem like the HR was the slightly better bouncer now!
What's with his eye?
(I'm just curious)
Ps: loving the content
Can I just buy carbon fiber plate from Bambu Labs instead the one you mentioned
HR stands for Human Resources 😂
😂
Do you see the price of filament change due to Tarrifs?
Time will tell but if it’s implemented I can totally see anything 3DP related coming from China costing a lot more
@UncleJessy do you know of any suppliers in the US with 1kilo under $12 for basic black?
I had a AAFPLA+ basketball, it bounced, until it cracked. looking into this.
Has anyone tested the aerodynamics of these mesh balls? Is it hard to shoot from distance due to increased drag?
I’m pretty sure it’s HR for High Resilience
Do you sell these?
Sadly no, but I think other people do. Biqu I believe sells them on their site
HR=High Resilience
U got mixed up on which ball was better. You mixed them up in bouncing them. 😂
Anyone know if this filament is toxic?
I wanna buy this to print tiny basketballs for my over the door hoop but at the cost im wondering if just buying the mini basketballs is cheaper.
more bounce to the ounce
HR = Hans Rudi
$60 a roll? That’s 4 real basketball from Big5 lol
@@akaiphone 😂🤣 $60 + 2 days of printing or a quick drive to a target + 4 real balls
$50-$60 per roll? Idk....basketballs are much cheaper. But I get it. It is neat and novel, but I'd rather just get a real basketball.
oh yeah... totally more affordable to buy 3 or 4 real basketballs 😂
