I love my clowns, had them for over two years and while they might take a while to get started when they do get going they EXPLODE. They LOVE their protein, so dried fish (like you can buy as treats for cats) and bee pollen are faves, though little and often. I would not recomend mixing the species, there is a good chance one species will out compete the others. Calcium powder/ cuttlefish bone is very recomended. I've found my clowns to be very adventurus, climbing and exploring in my mantis tanks, they are great to watch.
Ah okay, thank you for the tips! Yes I meant to say I pop some calcium powder in there, I've got tons of the stuff and they seem to like it lol. I've seen a lot about using dried fish, may have to try it.

Hi Rebecca, glad you have some of those isopods. I am curious to see how well they proliferate before I buy some as they are quite expensive to buy. I have seen my Leos grab isopods when they scuttle past. They obviously do not taste nice as both Leos quickly spat them out and never bothered with them again. My male Crestie will hunt the tropical Greys and eat them. He does not touch the Giant Orange. The Orange have bred massively for me. I will be interested to see how well these Clown Isopods do for you.
I bought some bc they’re super cool! But I’m debating whether to put them in my crested geckos tank or just have them in their own world. Any suggestions for when my colony blows up? Should I put some in his tank later or leave them in their own bin since they prefer some dry spots?
Theyre awesome Rebecca! I know youll have them live their lives to the fullest! Also, have you ever done vids on your aquariums, and do you plan on making any in the future? Stay well!

Hello! I have a quick question? My baby leopard gecko lemon has eco earth in her cage (the one that you have to add water to) and I was wandering if there is a way to get it not so stringy? Sorry if I use the wrong words lol! I just see her every night eating and always ends up getting the string pieces stuck in her mouth! My colonies are huge, I need to sell some stat! I've only fed my Orange and DairyCows oak and soft wood, along with green veggies going spare. I sterilise leaves in the microwave. Though I do live by a nature reserve, so an organic supply is endless. My colony of 10 each is now in the thousands!
Ah that's brilliant! I feel like that with my giant orange isopods sometimes, the population is growing rapidly. I've already cut it down a few times by selling 100s at a time 🙈
Hi ^^ I have a question I am planning on getting a leopard gecko, and I was just wondering if you have to have the insects at home too or if you can just buy them from a store or something. Thank you very much if you will reply.
yep you buy them from a shop or online, set them up in their own containers/tanks, feed them and keep them alive for feeding to your gecko. I have a whole Playlist called 'Feeder Insects / Inverts' which contains lots of videos on their care and how to set them up :)
I noticed on the swell reptiles website for clean-up they recommend 10 - 14 days to establish them before adding reptile to bio-active vivarium. Would it be possible to perform the establish period, for the clean-up crew, in another container and just add the container contents to the vivarium after two weeks? If it already contains a pet.
Personally I think it'll take longer. You could try it but I think it's more that your gecko may eat the individuals, so it's trying to avoid you losing all 10 in one go lol
Thanks :) Yeah they're fairly low maintenance, I give them a little mist down when I mist the geckos, and I pop in all sorts of stuff and they eat it, left over pangea, plant cuttings for the gecko plants, etc :)
There is a good chance that one species might out compete the other over time. That's why I keep them separate in the breeding bins and communally in bioactives just as a precaution. Looks good though
random name idea for the isopods what about the 7 dwarfs (sleepy, doc, bashful, sneezy, happy, grumpy, dopy) and prince charming and snow white (it was the 1st thing that went through my head)

Do they live separately? As ideally they should live alone. You can always make a 'dig box' where you add some eco earth in there, it allows them to dig, but they can easily avoid it when hunting, and it may ease your anxiety about adding loose substrate :)
I use paper for all 7 of my leopard geckos and it works perfect for them I have never had any problems with paper I had a friend use a few different substrates and his gecko died from impaction so I like to use paper for my geckos because it is very clean and much safer for them and one of my geckos has been living on paper for 2 years and she is doing perfect but that’s my opinion have a very wonderful day everyone
You may have had success with Porcellio scaber as a cleanup crew, and I won't discount that; but a warning to others that P. scaber are protein hungry and can nibble on delicate geckos; they are generally recommended as a cleanup crew for reptiles with tougher skin like BTS. The clowns make a great CUC but are expensive unless you keep a separate colony like she is doing in case the ones in the tank get nibbled on; my crested loves an isopod snack!
I am really worried since Yesturday I got my first leopard gecko and i picked him up to show my friend on FaceTime and he was crawling away so I wanted to put him back in his take and he started crawling away faster so a kind of sqeezed him a little bit and then he got really scared and I did end up putting him back in his tank and he as not come out of his hiding place and it's been like 8 hours. I don't think I hurt him, but I am worried so what do I do? And I am nine BTW
Hi, I am back. I have a video idea for you, can you make a video on cleaning a leopard gecko tank and cleaning recipes for cleaner if that makes sense.
Hi Rebecca, I am planning to get a leopard gecko on Tuesday 17th October and I have some crickets, mealworms, calci worms. I received medium/small silent brown crickets and have housed them on woodshavings and in a 42l storage box from wilko. However I am having the worst time please please please tell me how I can stop them climbing up the walls and getting out 🙏
Hi I k I’m not leopard gecko but I k a little bit about crickets. Just make sure the tank is big enough ( your tank is), make sure u do have some hiding places,( this could be the plastic box they come in) and also make sure that your storage box is secure. Hope this helped.
Oh I’m just thinking if you have put like holes as ventilation I would recommend covering that with mesh so then it is harder for them to escape. Hope this helps
Can anyone direct me to a care guide for dairy cow isopods? I am considering getting them as pets, but I can't seem to find a descriptive care guide that is specifically for them. Help is much appreciated!
@@leopardgeckotalk Thank you so much! I have been watching your videos during quarantine and you seem like an amazing person! Best wishes with your new isopods!
My mom says that I can't get a leopard gecko, and that is mostly due to the fact that I am thirteen, and so will be going off to university in a bit less than five years. anyone have any advice, either on what to do with a leopard gecko in university while living in a dorm, or other pets that wont live more than about 4 years?
I will say I have seen a lot of reptiles have to be rehomed because their owner goes to uni - this was how I ended up with Lyra, her previous owner was going to uni and she had to rehome all of her animals, even though she was studying to be a vet, no pets were allowed.
I k this has nothing to do with the video but does anyone know any good reptile shops where I could a crested gecko. As the pets at home near me feeds their geckos near me give sticky foot gold but no uv. England.
Thanks also is the shadedweller ok for crested geckos as I have heard you have to give uv to get a gecko from global geckos. If that is true or not don’t known have u heard that. Which percentage is best to get with the shadedweller or any uv light for an 18x18x24.

Saw the title and was like, when did I become featured in a leopard gecko video
😂
Hi, I am back. I have a video idea for you, can you make a video on cleaning a leopard gecko tank and cleaning recipes for cleaner if that makes sense.
500th like1 woot woot lol Love your videos!
Call their enclosure “the circus” or “the big top.” 🎪 🤡 🐜
omg yes! 😂
The big top lmao
@@oliduwhite9388 hi I have egg cartons and stuff in there, how could I make it more secure?
Oh I’m just thinking if you have put like holes as ventilation I would recommend covering that with mesh so then it is harder for them to escape. Hope this helps
@@oliduwhite9388 ahh yes great will deffo do that thankyou 😊
Glad I helped

Can anyone direct me to a care guide for dairy cow isopods? I am considering getting them as pets, but I can't seem to find a descriptive care guide that is specifically for them. Help is much appreciated!
Check out the channel I mentioned near the end :)
England.
yea but it's in Netherland
Try Global Geckos in the UK, you can go to the shop or order them I believe. But they seem to have a good reputation.
@@leopardgeckotalk hi ur the best can u help me I have a question
Thanks also is the shadedweller ok for crested geckos as I have heard you have to give uv to get a gecko from global geckos. If that is true or not don’t known have u heard that. Which percentage is best to get with the shadedweller or any uv light for an 18x18x24.
Hey leopard gecko can I help you with your cc? I promise I won’t troll you I just like writing cc
