This is GREAT!!! Frank is HUGE talent in Jazz guitar. I saw some old footage of Frank playing in hotel room with Jimmy Rosenberg. Its unbelievably GREAT footage of Jimmy and Frank at such a young age. Frank you are TRULY one of the jazz guitar GREATS!!! Thank- you. And Bucky, well it just goes without saying how truly GREAT you are, and how much we miss you. Thanks for this.
Bucky Pizzarelli & Frank do the classic Limehouse Blues. It goes from a leisurely statement of the melody into overdrive @1:15 and ends with the frets aboutready to catch fire. Great stuff.
The 7th string is tuned to A, like every other jazz guitar player tunes it. Bucky is John Pizzarelli's father, and started the 7-string jazz thing, along with George Van Eps. He's been doing it since the 70's, and better than most anyone. He's a legend in the jazz scene.
Frankly, Frank is great......but Bucky like no other. We lost a diamond in the rough yesterday, no fooling!!! Bet he's still doing his stuff in Eternity. Bucky (RIP).
I'm talking bass guitar. On a four string, they are tuned like the bottom four strings of a guitar, so I assumed the fifth string would be a B like it is on a guitar, and he took that B string and stuck it on the bottom of his guitar.
The bass you here is Bucky himself. Part of the wider range he was able to achieve with his extra bass string - 7 string guitar. 2 virtuoso on this classic.
Yeah that version is great. Jerry reed and chet do a version and this version is awesome too. Isn’t a pleasure to live in a world with frank vignola, Chet, Bucky, and Jerry reed! Haha
Holy crap that old dude on the guitar is the man! Love those cool passing chords and not trying to impress with technique like the other guy who doesnt have the respect to even name who he is
You assume incorrectly. I've been a bass player for almost 15 years. I play 4, 5 and 6 string basses. I know what you're talking about, and you are in way over your head here. From low to high its, B, E, A, D, G. Trust me
A, E, A, D, G, B, E....trust me :) They double the A to be able to play the same chords they're used to but with a beefier bass note one octave lower on chords with the bass in the 5th string in 6 string guitars.
@@SaccoBelmonte You are correct, sir. I had the great honor to meet Bucky during his collaboration with Gearge Barnes back in the early 70s. They were playing at Upstairs at the Downstairs in New York and I was sitting not ten feet from them as they jammed. My uncle played trumpet in the Tonight Show band back then and, along with Mrs. Barnes, we were the entire audience. It was an amazing night watching that duo breaking in their act. Bucky showed me his guitar and explained how the extra low A string gave more flexibility as an accompaniest. I will never forget it.
Omg! So glad I came across this gem!
Spectacular version! RIP Bucky. You were one of the greats!
So sad.

Frank, you’re the master. Thanks for tickling our ears again.
Ahhh... look at you Frankie! Young and committed! RIP Bucky.
Sweet jesus, these guys guys are good!
so beautiful

Oh yes…..great stuff❗️👍🍷
Holy shit! That is some wicked shredding!

I loved your style... congrats
Brilliant!
Nothing like being faster than a hummingbird while playing guitar Gee we should all be that fast
Bucky is a all time great
Marvelous.
Spectacular!!!! But why isn’t Bucky mentioned????
Sensacional!
Bravissimi
Frankly, Frank is great......but Bucky like no other. We lost a diamond in the rough yesterday, no fooling!!!

diamond in the rough? what do you find unpolished about bp? lol
wow man
What an honor and a pleasure would be for Frank to play with one of his heroes. BTW: Did he just come from the army?
If he took it from a bass it would be 5x wider
And that "old guy" is Bucky Pizzarelli. Look him up
COOL

Geez...they play this so fast that Frank looses half of his hair! Woo-Hoo!
Okay, I trust you. I admit I'm not too familiar with basses. I believe you considering you know much more than I do on the matter. Cheers
djent doesn't exist at that time, thanks for the old guy
Unfortunately Bucky passed away last month, april 2020. I bet his son Martin is at the acoustic bass in the background sound.
The bass you here is Bucky himself. Part of the wider range he was able to achieve with his extra bass string - 7 string guitar. 2 virtuoso on this classic.
Iron Eagle he was really a phenomena!!!
Chords please? :)
I play a six string bass. The low B is the fattest one. .130 gauge. The high C is .032
Famózne...
Is the older guy playing a 7-string with a low B?
Yeah it would be a B
You sure? It looks like the high b from a five string bass. Looks about the size it would be.
BUCKY!
chet atkins and les paul do a great version of this tune.
Yeah that version is great. Jerry reed and chet do a version and this version is awesome too. Isn’t a pleasure to live in a world with frank vignola, Chet, Bucky, and Jerry reed! Haha

you lame ass moron, bucky [old guy] wouldn't play with frank [young guy] unless he totally respected and fully endorsed his playing.
@@rillloudmother the minute you start a sentence with the words "you lame ass moron" then whatever follows is gonna be well can I say, moronic.....
LOL, you don’t even know, who you are talking about…😅🥴
looks like it, yeah. he probably took the B string from a 5 string bass
