I was struggling with this trick then I tried it Moglies way did it first try
If I can give you THE secret that made me improve my consistency on my heelflips from 1/10 to at least 5/10, I would say that if you struggle with leaning back when you pop (because it is an uncomfortable position to pop), try leaning just a little, not uncomfortable, and when you pop, raise your arms like any trick you would do, but raise them BEHIN YOU. You can see that Aaron is doing that at 7:31. Compare his arms position with the one at 7:22, and you'll se that to land it, he raise his arms behind him. It will help you a lot to readjust your bodyweight while popping.

I know he had it all backwards when he was explaining it with his hands. When he was showing the direction it was supposed to spin, it was shown spun in the direction of a kickflip variation.

I just got back into it after stopping about 10 years ago due to an injury while deployed. I've noticed harder tricks are easier to relearn. I have my treflips, varial heels, hospital flips, ect back. But I cannot for the life of me do a kick flip or heel flip! I can maybe do 1 out of 10 kick\heel flips.

Hey Braille I don’t know if you guys want to do this but what really helps me is also practicing the flip bit landing on it with my back foot also. And the front foot of coarse. Then it makes it a bit easier to land with both feet. But I’ve never heard you guys say this in any of your how to videos so I just wanted to share something that helps me learn tricks. And I love this channel soooo much! 👍

Inward heels are for sure easier than varial heels-for me, at least.

ok so i would like some advice for my situation, i just learned the heel flip as my first flick trick because i really don't like kickflips. Anyway, i want to learn some type of varial flip but i don't know if I should try varial heel or varial kickflip. For varial kickflips id have to learn kick flips and for varial heel is aparently the harder trick for some reson idk. Anyway, should i try to do varial heel or varial kickflip?

Okay so i can v heel pretty decent but now i always miss the flick and i always land on the board upside down or primo and idk how to flick any faster bc if i do i just miss the flick completely. If there’s any tips u can give me id greatly appreciate it

I just learned fakie front shuvs (rarely popping them but sometimes i do a bit), and i noticed the board oftentimes heekflipped halfway so i really wanna learn this. Im far from landing regular/normal front shuvs tho, wont work out yet. You guys think i should give it a try nevertheless (fakie varial heel) or would it be a wastw of time?

Varial heel is easier than regular heel for me. I can't heelflip, but I can varial heelflip sometimes.

I do my varial and lasers with only my front foot, I literally pop and the way I flick will sling it into varial or laser depending on how hard I flick
