To me, my X-Men! To me MT! Welcome back to the HS show, y’all! X-Men 97 is such an incredibly dope show that has just given us yet another banger of an episode by having us experience the witchy wrath of the Goblin but like…how could this amazing show factor into Marvel Studios plans for the Multiverse Saga? Well, I think Bishop of the X-Men and Monica of The Marvels may have helped opened up some really exciting possiblities for the future of the MCU! So let’s make like a techno organic virus and get all up into this thang!MEMBERS SHOUTAlright so, let’s start off by talking about the ending of Episode 3 of X-Men 97…as that episode ends with Cable being sent to the future with the time traveling X-Man Bishop in order for him to have a chance at surviving the terminal techno organic virus that Mr. Sinister bonded into that baby’s biology. But while most people assume that this baby is meant to grow up into the X-Men animated universe’s version of Cable that has appeared in past seasons of the X-Men animated series, I have a strong feeling this will not be the case. I have a hunch that we just all witnessed the origins of Josh Brolin’s Cable from the Deadpool movies.

X-Men 97 is genuinely incredible. Like I didn't realize how much I missed the X-Men as a family until I watched the first two episodes of the show. Everything from the conversation between Jean and Storm about how Jean should raise her son in a world that will always remind him about how he's different and how this world will always hate him for simply being born, to honestly one of my favorite Magneto speeches and moments of all time when he pulled the UN Council to the the edge of Earth's atmosphere because of what happened to Strom and came so close to smiting them out of existence but restrained himself because an old friend challenged him to remember a different view of the world. Charles challenged Magnus to remember how vast the world is versus how small they make it. I loved how he said the dream isn't from mutants and humans to love each other but simply to accept their existence and that Earth is a shared world with a common future. The music score in that scene was incredible. Speaking of music, the newly revamped intro was also fantastic! The really cool added visual details and the slightly retouched music was awesome and gave me nostalgia for a time I wasn't even alive for. On another great note, it's so awesome to finally see my boy Cyclops done right as the leader of the X-Men! Marvel Animation is doing justice to Cyclops with only two episodes of X-Men 97 when 20th Century Fox couldn't after multiple movies. 😭 The "To me, my X-Men" Call to Arms phrase is the best Marvel has. This comment is already crazy long so I'm going to wrap up by saying that X-Men 97 is even more proof that Marvel stories and just comic book stories in general are best realized in animation. Like I couldn't even imagine them trying to pull off that incredible Cyclops superhero landing in live action because you can only really do cool stuff like that in animation cuz to be quite frank animation is just better. 🥱 Also, seeing that Strom " Omega Level Threat" moment was also so badass! As you can tell I love this show quite a bit so I'm happy to hear that it's the highest rated Marvel show ever with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It genuinely deserves all the critical and streaming viewership success it's finding right now. Episode 3 was just as awesome as the first two!!!
As a parent the anxiety I had when Sinister put the baby in a fucking vat of liquid was insane. I forgot it was a cartoon 😅

I'm sorry, MT but that's *way* too big of a stretch. The entire purpose of X-Men '97 is to be a continuation of the original series and nothing more. Even if you wanted to say that the X-Men of the animated series are the definitive X-Men of The Marvels' post-credit scene, there's still the Immortus issue. Immortus was in the Beyond Good & Evil 4-part episodes of the X-Men series and he's probably still in that universe as a singular entity without the aid of his variants. And that specific Immortus wasn't in the Ant Man & Wasp Quantumania post-credit scene. So, I don't think those universes are connected.

Idk why they'd use Kelsey Grammer in The Marvels if it's connected to '97. I think they'll keep this separate.
I couldn't stand Grammer as Beast. Not that he was bad, but the character just lacked dynamism or charisma. They stole Angel's screen time and gave it to Beast because it was Kelsey. Angel's story would have been more emotionally compelling, after that gripping opening scene.
Yeah and he was fully CG. If they're just using a voice actor for beast, they would have used George Buza if he was supposed to be the X-Men 97 version.

I’m not sure I agree with this one as Dr Strange MM showed an animated universe, which was separate from the live action ones. Not sure they would then show the “Fox” one in live action if it was going to be the ‘97 animated universe.

I think the line from the original series finale about Charles being there in mind and spirit is being used to have a piece of Charles in Magneto, thus giving us Onslaught in season 2.
That doesn't make any sense being that Magneto is a good guy now.

All the key X-men in the X-men series knew that Charles left with the Shiar, so they would have known Professor X was alive. The headstone was only for show to those out of the loop (the rest of the world). Mentioning Charles in the movie would have validated that.

We also learned from MoM that animated universes exist as animated universes. When Dr. Strange and America Chavez jumped universes they turned into cartoons when they went into an animated universe. Therefore animated variants are not and cannot be represented as live action.
If they turned into cartoons when in a cartoon universe then what is stopping the animated characters becoming live action in a live action universe?

so are timelines and different universes the same thing now? cause it's sounding like they are the same thing. i don't think any example of incursions given so far were from time travelers. they were from people going to another universe. i'm pretty sure cable was from the same universe, just a future timeline. can he cause an incursion if he never actually left his universe?

Not buying the cable theory. Animated universes are there own ie the animated character and live action are different variants.
Also in MoM incursions were caused by people from different universes, not characters from the future coming to the past. I think there is a big delineation between those and don’t buy that either.

Idk if Monica when to the 97 verse because we know Ms. Marvel/ binary is white in that universe. I mean binary could be a different character, but that would be a stretch. I do think Josh cable could be related tho, but the only way we’ll know for certain is if cable has hope for a daughter and not cyclops and Jean.

I love fun theories, but the theory that Monica is in the X-men animated series universe makes no sense. The animated universe already has a Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel, whose powers Rogue stole, and the universe that Monica wakes up in has a Maria Rambeau Binary(Ms. Marvel’s later moniker).
X-men vs avengers would easily surpass infinity war in box office. That's a legendary crossover

I’m wondering if there’s any possibility that there will be a version of Inferno. In so far as I really wanted to see that, I found this episode rather disappointing.
How is all this supposed to work with animated characters? Who plays the X-Men 97 characters in live action? Using anything but the same animation style is going to remove the nostalgia factor for the animated series

I would like to keep them separate. I want both sure, but I like the direction & stories X-Men 97 are telling. I don’t want the MCU’s now messy overarching story to mess with that.
Baby Cable from X-Men '97 cant be the cable from the original series or the deadpool movies... the events laid out in X-Men '97 do not match the events laid out in the revised X-Men movie timeline which is the timeline deadpool takes place in (the one after days of future past up until logan) and the time travel shenanigans from the original X-Men series makes it practically impossible for this baby Cable to be the same Cable from the 90s... Bishop has even stated already that hes never seen a timeline where Magneto is in control of the X-Men, talking albout the literal timeline he is stood in, the timeline that baby Cable is from.
Dont think Marvel are putting this much thought in to it. Incursions will end into nothing as Loki is doing his thing and keeping it chill. Marvel needs a geek squad to come up with impactful and linking story archs. Set them up and what them go.

I don’t think that’s how it works, time travel is not the same as hopping universes, Steve Rogers stayed in his timeline for decades with no problems, cable is more likely to be discovered by the TVA, also you are wrong about it being the same universe as the animated universe, because it would be animated lol Doctor Strange showed us that when a character goes into another universe they change with the universe like them turning into paint in the paint universe..

Monica Rambeau is definitely not in the X-Men 97 Universe and, any hypothesis that speculates up this is, simply ludicrous.
Why, animation and live action are two separate mediums, if Monica Rambeau was in the X-Men 97 Universe then, she would appear as an animation and not as her live action self.
The rule of inter dimensional universal travel have been well established for years within movies and TV series science fiction and, the MCU have not altered the course of these rules but solidified them in, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
If Monica Rambeau is to interact with X-Men 97 animated characters then, she need to be in a Universe like, Who Framed Roger Rabbit's where, animation and live action characters coexist and can interact with each other. Spiderman Across the Spider-Verse showed this interact very clearly in all aspects of inter dimensional universal travel.

Rachel Summers=Sophie Turner (young jean), Scott Summers=James Marsden, Gabriel Summers/Vulcan=Tye Sheridan( young cyclops in the x-men movies) inspired based on younger brother of Havok, I want to see three summers brothers: Scott, Alex, and Gabriel. Josh Brolin will reprise his role as Cable! He meets his family. Morph=Nicholas Hoult( young Beast) because it is ironic Beast's girlfriend can shapeshift. Kelsey Grammer reprised his role as Beast. Younger Wolverine/Shorter Logan=Daniel Radcliffe. Anna Paquin will reprise her role as Rogue!!
