Yes I use the silicone mold to make foundations I lay the silicone mold on a flat surface then open it coat inside the mold with a thin layer of oil or soapy water for a mold release while the beeswax being melt then pour beeswax from one end of the silicone mold then slowly close it and let it cool and turn hard again when it's hardened the pattern will be embedded in to the wax leaving you with a sheet of foundation.🙂 thanks for your Comment good question 👍

I want to see the thickness of the wax foundation it makes because I am not convinced that the hex pattern is indexed to the reverse side. I would have flipped the dry half with the plastic foundation still in it and then build up the form work another level and make the second mould half on top of the first and that would ensure the thickness of the end product is true to the cast.
🙂 thanks you can use bees wax foundation instead of the plastic sheet if that's what your asking but if it's the natural comd from the hive your referring to it won't work.

Question: After you've made that silicone mold, how will you use it? Do you use it to somehow make more foundation? If so, how?

The thickness of the beeswax foundation turned out the same as the plastic foundation.

No 5 tubes 2 for each side and the last one I use little of it to join bout side.
