One of the coolest things I ever seen was the first Ozzfest tour when Ozzy didn't show up in Columbus, Ohio all the headlining bands did a big mix mash playing Sabbath covers attempting to please the crowd, it didnt go over well though and ended with Phil saying "Fuck you Columbus Ohio!" I was happy and wanted them all to keep jamming, it was awesome, but the crowd started a riot, it was pretty badass, cars getting flipped, fence pushed over, fireworks launched at police helicopter, good times
I mean I knew Phil could play but I didn't know he could shred like that. Shit. Phil's actually got pretty damn good guitar skills. Wow. I know he does just fine singing only and Dimebag has the skills to handle TWO guitar parts at the same time. That's just how great he was, but if they ever decided to follow a traditional 4-piece rhythm/lead guitar formula, that would've richened the sound of Pantera a little at least live, no?
Yeah man he's a pretty solid guitarist. I have seen him play some Slayer songs and other stuff but I'm not sure exactly how good he is. He should give playing guitar in down while singing a shot. I think it would be cool to see him gut out vocals while chuncking riffs
much respect to pantera! it's a shame that we will never see the four of them and hit the stage, i wish that the remaining guys in pantera would reconcile and give dime a truly fitting tribute.
