    This was such a fun review.... testing two small wave board models at the same time. The Disco and the Disco Cheater by SharpEye surfboards are both very fast and fun in small waves.
    These two models are a collaboration with Surftech on a new construction called Fusion E2. They have a stringless EPS foam core with an exclusive Carbon Fiber band for Surftech only. The Carbon on the deck and the bottom of the board act as the spine and strength of the board and that is not uncommon this day in age. What makes this Carbon on the deck unique is the 2mm gap that runs down the middle of the Carbon band that allows the EPS foam to work as a dampener to reduce vibration or chatter.
    In this review I talk about the pros and cons of EPS and PU foam cores and how this board and construction felt under my feet.
    Both the Disco and the Disco Cheater were a blast and performed very well in 2-4'+ surf but the Disco Cheater stole the show due to its versatility in 1-4' surf. The Disco Cheater is one of my favorites for 2017 for the 1-3' Groveler category.

    I have noticed that you have a good board to wave ratio and the end result is good flow in your surfing at the end of your review

    I love your videos. I was hoping for some help choosing a board. I am 5’9 160-165lbs. I currently ride the 5’6 30 L cymatic which I love. I want to get a board that goes more vertical and can help me progress more compared to the cymatic. I have never ridden anything less than 30L but I think I could. I am considering the disco inferno, the shadow, or the sci fi2.0. I surf in Hawaii, head to a little overhead. Which model and size would you recommend? Thanks 🤙🏽

    Hi Noel, how would you compare the disco cheater to the Uber xl? Many thanks

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  2 года назад +1

      The Disco Cheater has a wider nose making it more of a hybrid design. The wider nose offers better paddling and more stability under your front foot. The Wide point might be bit forward on the DC which enhances carving. The UD XL has a performance board outline and it will offer sharper/tighter turns in the pocket compared to the DC. In my opinion the DC to s silky smooth with better flow and faster compared to the UD XL. The UD Xl draws more performance lines in the pocket.

    surf 24 volume fever (Pu)
    Will the cheater 25.5 will be good for me or maybe too much foam ?
    I ask because I remember the extra foam wasn’t so bad on your modern2 review , but the cheater and the modern2 are different boards ..
    That board was super light at the shop .
    Thanks hips
    I asked u about the Uber driver CW in 24 volume and I am just before making a decision.

    Nice Review Noel. Have you ever tried a pinched rail on an EPS on bigger waves? For me it helps to engage the rails. And a stronger lamination helps on the weight as well... have you ever tried?

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  6 лет назад +1

      Caio Husadel I have not tried that yet but I have talked to a few pros that say making the EPS a little heavier for bigger waves will take away the chatter or vibration. I have not heard about pinching the rails for more traction but it makes sense. Maybe I will do a review on something like this. I know Peter Mel rides EPS guns chasing giant waves..... one of my friends makes his boards.

      Surf n Show Reviews Cool Noel! I was pro longboarder, and aways hate EPS. Since I tried to make it a little bit heavier and stronger I have just been riding only EPS. Now I'm also a shaper (check it up on instagram @HusadelSurfDesigns ), so I had this same feeling on the rails ounce the power of the wave increase... So I pinched the rails and reduce this feel of missing control on the rail. Thanks for the review man. I've been falling your reviews since "Surf Show n Tell"...

    Hey noel. I have a bunny chow and want a board for similar conditions that has more down the line speed and a slightly sharper rail. I'm a bigger guy at 6'3" and 185 lbs and push pretty hard in my turns, but I want to progress more and have some more release off the top. Would you suggest the disco over something like the sampler?

    • @surfnshowreviews7777

      Yes... that’s a pretty good comparison. The Phantom paddles better, it’s faster, and easier to shred. The Disco offers more high performance in the pocket and it will pivot faster.
