    You've got great models. I myself have been a 3D modelling specialist (overall generalist) since Maya 01 came out back in 2000 / 1 or so. I really! miss using Maya. Had to switch over to Blender due to company requirements. I've only been learning it since last year march or so, but damn I must say, it's been a really hard climb in learnign the software, whereas Maya came to me immediately.
    Those nodes in Blender are extremely confusing. But after I do finally master the software, it's really quite incredible.
    The main reason why I only use Blender - Alias Wavefront made Maya so damn expensive, irrespective of whether you're in a company or a hobbyist. I wouldnt mind switching back to maya IF they made it affordable. But they only care about money. And as a result are chasing away a massive amount of artists towards Blender....which is free!
    If only they just made it a bit more affordable for at least hobbyists, I'd switch over in a heartbeat!
    Greedy, man....greedy.

    Hi, do you ever make wireframe studies? (drawing over reference images before starting to model to plan out topology and such)

    I watched the exterior a few months back and now have to catch up on all the interior stuff you put up. These truly are awesome. I see you've been UVing as you go here, so do you plan on doing any texturing and renders?

    • @OnMars3D
      @OnMars3D  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I plan to do textures and render this in future tutorials

    Is there an analog to the Quad Draw tool in Blender ?

    • @OnMars3D
      @OnMars3D  7 месяцев назад

      Retopoflow is one of the better Quad draw/retopo tools in Blender. But it's a paid Addon.

    I haven't really modeled a complete car in subd in a very long time but aren't your UVs going to get wrecked at the edges once you smooth the mesh? That is if you've done the uvs before applying the smooth preview? That was my experience but again it's been a while

    • @OnMars3D
      @OnMars3D  2 года назад +1

      There are settings in the Smooth Preview/Mesh Smooth where you can smooth the UVs or preserve edges and corners. Using those settings will make sure the UVs smooth.
      Normally, when I go to render, I just use Mesh Smooth to avoid any issues.

    • @stephenforsyth7883
      @stephenforsyth7883 2 года назад

      Apply smooth with the same settings (usually preserve edges and corners) when you send it off to texture, then when it's smoothed again at render time it'll match the smoothing used to texture it but you won't have a heavy mesh.

      I cover them in the interior shell but I did not include the locking mechanisms since none of my camera angles include them.
