I lived in Hong Kong for 19 years before moving to USA 40 years ago and you two have visited more places than I ever had in HK for my entire life. Great job and very comprehensive video. When I go home again this year in October, I am going to visit all the hidden treasures that I missed. Thanks again and I really enjoyed your video!
Hong Kong looks clean, civilized and a lot of good food. People look trim and fit. I love the close up shots of the food. I was literally salivating on myself. You guys did a great job! Many thanks for the upload!
Thank you! It has a futuristic feel and does an incredibly efficient job of whisking its massive population around the city. The food is very good and surprisingly not too expensive if you seek out value spots.

Amazing guide!! Was a bit wary when I saw it was 20 minutes as other long guides tend to bore me, but yours was so engaging, visually appealing and informative! Love the energy and enthusiasm :)
I'm living in China and the best thing about Hongkong for me is the civilized people and the great food. After some month you really miss the western food and in Hongkong you can also have great western food, even if it is a bit expensive..
Thanks for a really imaginative video. We used to live in HK many years ago and have just returned from a trip back. Your choice of recommended places to visit is spot on. There were even a couple that I hadn’t done. The outlying islands by ferry are all a great day out, Temple of 10,000 Buddhas in Sha Tin is a must, despite the HK Tourist Board refusing to list it or put up signs! All the markets are a good way to spend an evening, whether you buy anything or not. Thanks again.
Hong Kong actually has a lot of greenery. It is not just a concrete jungle. You should definitely go visit those small islands in HK, like Peng Chau, Cheung Chau, Lamma Island, etc. Depending on the island, the ferry rides are only 20 to 45 minutes from Central. Those islands have beautiful and peaceful nature settings. They are also great places for foods, easy hikes, swimming and photo shoots.
Thanks! Appreciate the suggestions. That is very true. It doesn't take long to be away from the city centre and out in nature. I wish we had more time to film those areas.
Hi, I am probably not the first to tell that this vid is mega brutal , those timelapses and everything else is perfectly angeld... the artistic value of this short film is considerable I think. You guys rock!!!!! I am shocked! Hugs!
Ah, thank you very much! We've upgraded our gear a bit recently and we're also spending more time editing and learning new software. Hoping to improve more this year as well :)
Hong Kong is my home. For the fun of it I wanted to see what someone visiting HK might find interesting. I thought you did a great job. Thank you for highlighting my beautiful city. Please come back. ❤️
@@samuelandaudrey On your next visit: - Stanley Market in Stanley; Market, beach, and historic WWII graveyard - Tai O fishing village; short bus ride away from Big Buddha; popular weekend destination for locals - Sai Kung; promenade, fisherman selling fresh catch from their boats, fish restaurants, country parks - Flower Market; Bird Market very short walk away - HK Island tram, locally called Ding Dings; take tram from one end of the island to the other end; it’a so cheap it’s almost free; great way to see the northern, most populated part of HK Island. If you take the entire ride (Shau Kei Wan to Kennedy Town), it takes over an hour
I go to Hong Kong often, but I loved what you have put together here. It's a laid back tour in your company. What I love most is that the unpretentious characteristics of you both come through!
Oh, thank you very much! Will you be heading back to HK again soon? There are still things we haven't done in the city we'd like to do if we come back again. Especially some of the bigger day hikes.
For the last few months, I've been obsessing over this place. I love the idea of east and west blending into one city, and it's amazing history. I'd love to visit here someday
I have been to Hongkong 1 month ago and i already miss it and love ittt so muchhh, take me thereee pleaseeee... i will be there soon and thank you so much for the video...
Seriously? i was just checking hong kong (i m looking forward to go there for studies).. and you took me there for free. Thank you.. you guys are awesome.
Of all the videos I've seen on HK I found yours the most unusually interesting and informative. Thanks guys! I'm traveling in a few days and your video is very helpful. Cheers!!
Attend Hong Kong racecourse or the other one in the New Territories. Lots of locals go hiking so pick a walk and try it if you are feeling energetic enough. My friends took me to a very quaint fishing village restaurant where we had the best seafood ever. You pick out the seafood you want from the fish tanks where they are swimming about live and the owner takes it off to the kitchen to prepare. Restaurant is basic but feels authentic in so far as its a local destination used by locals so that's kinda cool I think. There is a tradition of washing your eating utensils in hot tea before the dinner, which was odd but another authentic experience. We were given fresh tea to drink however as well as other normal drinks.
OMG.... Absolutely love you guys!! Visiting HK for a couple of days on my way to Europe next month and this was just perfect.... As a Canadian living in Sydney... I really miss the accent. So refreshing to find you :) Happy Canada Day!! :)
Cute couple, good taste, sober prensentation and a lot of humility, keep up the good work guys. I’m in HK right now and looked at your video for advice and wasn’t disappointed.
Thank you for these great easy to watch videos! I've been showing them to my classes as a "Travel the World" project! I'm an English Academy teacher in Ulsan SK.
i live in hong kong and the more i stare, the prettier it gets. perhaps it's not everyone's ideal but there's so much to see in both the small streets and malls of hong kong

Thanks for that. Really looking forward to house sitting in H.K. over Christmas and New Year. I lived there back in the 70's when my husband was in the Royal Navy. A very different place back then. Although the trams and Star ferry are the same. H.K. is where our son was born too.
Well done. Going to Hong Kong for the first time next month. Found this every informative. Sam! Get that pretty girl in more random shots. I know she's shy but she's cute. Help her sell it. Great team you two.
Amazing video! I have seen some from you before, and this one is such an improvement! Thanks for the great suggestions, I'm doing a plan for my trip to Macau and Hong Kong in April and this one helped a lot. I really have to try that afternoon tea!
Thank you very much! That is really exciting to hear. Yeah, afternoon tea in Hong Kong is a real treat for sure :) If you can do it on a weekday it tends to be less crowded.
Samuel and Audrey, You guys are totally awesome and your travel videos rock! it's my family's favorite "reality TV" show. We love to travel and my 9 year old daughter will hit 50 countries visited now after our upcoming trip to Asia now in Dec. 2017. Your tips on Hong Kong are great! Thank you, congrats, many blessings to both of you and keep on traveling and bringing us virtually with you! :)
I am very picky when it comes to food. I have only travelled to one country (India) apart from my home country (South Africa), and the food there is closely related to what we eat here back home. What I see here in this video I dont think I will be able to stomach if I ever travel to Hong Kong. Hong Kong's Skyscrappers are breathtaking and cluttered close to one another. There is lots of forestry, because its a wetland and mountanious terrain. I love the fact that they relocated the airpot to a reclaimed land, as opposed to the inner city airpot which made it difficult for planes to land with the ever-growing skyline of the city. The peak tram is awesome, the underwater tunneling is fabulous and its road network isnt so bad. They have build elevated highways because there is not enough room on the ground and the fact that the landscape is not level.
Very nice video! I’m from New Jersey but I will be visiting hongkong early next year with my aunt and cousin . So many cool places and things to do especially the food part that we all enjoy. Thank you .
I will do most of the same things I have done already, including eating dim sum of course! I stayed for 5 days and it was too short for me, but I had a great time. Next year I'm looking at 2 weeks total so I won't be in too much rush like last time. Something I haven't done that I will do next time is hiking at Dragon's Back, and many more things that I didn't get to do first time.
Shrimp dumpling Ha gao, siu maai, law maai fan or sticky rice, cheoung fun or rice flour long dumpling or more like stuffed filled , also soup noodles, stir fried noodles, fried and steamed rice. I have an upcoming trip to Korea and was lucky enough to have a partial day layover in Hong Kong. I enjoyed watching your video and it is by far the best informative video of Hong Kong I have watched. I now have ideas of what and where to go during my layover!! :D
Very cool video, thanks for uploading. My partner and I are heading to Hong Kong & Macau in May and are currently listing our own personal itinerary like you've done. We have booked a couple of guided day trips but the rest of the time will be cruising around on our own. We have alot of what you both did on our list, however will be showing my partner the firing of the guns as he would love to see that because he's a huge history buff! Thanks again Happy travels Regards Cherie & Brad from Australia 😃 Cherie & Brad
Thank you for your video! We were able to visit some of them and maximize our stay in hongkong.. was able to upload my first diy experience as well. 👍😊
It is a good idea for people to visit Mainland China, regardless of whether for business or for leisure. Hong Kong was used to be the only city in China that westerners go to. Recently, there have been too many violent protests in Hong Kong. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. I personally recommend transiting through Hong Kong to Macau, Shenzhen and Zhuhai (a city in Guangdong province) by the relatively new Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and the Shenzhen Bay Bridge, which is part of Asian Highway 1. Then, they can visit Shanghai and Beijing.
Hi! I love your video! Will definitely check out The Lion Rock for nigh tea 😍 will be going to hongkong in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to check out some of the places you mentioned in this video! 😊
Going to HK with my siblings next month and stumbled upon this video. Went there 3 times but never been to some of the places you've been to. Will try to go to some of them. BTW, 10,000 Buddhas in Sha Tin district is worth visiting.
Thank you! That is awesome to hear. How long will you be visiting this time around? Ah, thanks for the recommendation. There is still so much we haven't done in HK including a lot of the hiking routes.
About 4 days...There is also "The Wisdom Path" when you go further in the vicinity of the Po Lin monastery in Lantau island. There are hiking trails on that area.
Hey! We made an apartment video about our place we stayed at in Hong Kong. Please just search 'Samuel and Audrey Hong Kong apartment' and you'll find it. Um, to be honest it was quite small but to get something bigger you'd have to pay maybe over $100 USD for a centrally located place.
I lived in Hong Kong for 19 years before moving to USA 40 years ago and you two have visited more places than I ever had in HK for my entire life. Great job and very comprehensive video. When I go home again this year in October, I am going to visit all the hidden treasures that I missed.

Thank you very much! I hope you have a great return visit. I feel like we barely scratched the surface and we'd love to return again as well.
I was in Hong Kong four times already(I'm 13) because my cousin is half Chinese and half German and I feel so lucky because I love Hong Kong ❤️❤️❤️
That is cool to hear! Hope you can revisit again soon.
I've lived in Hong Kong for 3 years and your video made me feel "Hong Kong home sick" Nice places that I've been for so many times! Cool!

Hi! I love your video! Will definitely check out The Lion Rock for nigh tea 😍 will be going to hongkong in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to check out some of the places you mentioned in this video! 😊
Thank for upload
Thanks for sharing
Hi
Love this video, so helpful and great recommendations of places to go. Where did you stay in Hong Kong and would you recommend it?
Thanks
Hey! We made an apartment video about our place we stayed at in Hong Kong. Please just search 'Samuel and Audrey Hong Kong apartment' and you'll find it. Um, to be honest it was quite small but to get something bigger you'd have to pay maybe over $100 USD for a centrally located place.
Dude! great tip on the big Buddha lighting situation. I would not have thought of it before going to photograph it.
Thank you! Glad that helps :)
As a HongKonger, this video is the best among those I have watched:)Great editing
Thank you very much! That really means a lot hearing that from a local. Where in HK do you live?
Loved the video guys! Hong Kong is on the bucket list, how many days do you advice visiting?
Thank you! I'd visit for close to a week if you can. 48 hours would be super rushed but you could still do a lot.
Hi Sam and Audrey. We enjoy your travel videos and appreciate your advice on our upcoming trip to Thailand and Hong Kong. Barb and Harvey
Thanks Bob and Harvey! That is great to hear about your travel plans.
Great finds, esp the Chi Nin Nunnery, Big Buddha, Man Mo Temple and Botanical Garden. If you are a family of 3-4, taxis are amazingly cheap!
Thank you! That is a good tip regrading the taxi.
Taxis are not cheap!!! Taxis in Vietnam is cheap. Paying for taxi in Hong Kong is cheap if you’re making over $100,000 and got money to burn.
??? I guess prices are always relative. HK taxi fare is mighty cheap compared to Australian, UK and US Taxi fares.
Like your video nice
Thank you very much!
great video, nice city. thanks for sharing
Thank you! It sure is incredible.
