Over thirty years ago, when I was in my 40s, my mother took me to Hong Kong for what turned out to be my only trip abroad. This video brought back so many memories of places I’d been and made me want to o return to experience the places I’d missed. The video is brilliantly filmed and edited, entertaining, and informative. In full disclosure, Matt is my son, but I think my assessment would be the same even if he weren’t. However, I’m one proud mama.
Love you oceans mama san💙💚
I was going to say the same. "The video is brilliantly filmed and edited, entertaining, and informative". Totally agree. You have raised a great man and I wish you all the success in the world ^_^.
M.H Aleisa Thank you:)
Congratulations Kate. You have every reason to be a proud mama. Matt's Travel Tips are not only entertaining, they are quite possibly THE BEST in class. I have been to each of the cities he has featured on many occasions and I think he pretty much has everything covered. However, I can think of two things that leave me baffled every time I watch one of his videos: 1) why he is not the most famous travel guide in the world and 2) why is he not as round as a bagel with all the food he eats. BTW, I see the origin of his sense of humor.
Juan Ramos thanks for your kind words. However, even though I’m the mom, I have to agree that I don’t understand why he isn’t the most famous travel guide. As for all the food he eats, I hate him that he can do that and stay thin. In fairness, he works out a lot, and I guess I subscribe to the “ I’ll work out next week” theory “ 😬
Truly makes me realise why ive been here for 21 years. I love this city! so many things that i havent even done myself! thanks for the tips of my beloved city
Hi from Hong Kong! 🙋 This is by far my favourite hk guide, well done :)
kittysunky Thanks so much! So glad you like it!
Cheers,
M
Hi Kitty is there anything in HK he missed? I live close by.
kittysunky Same! I am from HK, and have been so disappointed with other videos. This was so positive and so informative. I absolutely think he did HK justice. 💙✌🏼
N H Thank you so much! I really appreciate it:)
All the best,
M
I'm also from Hong Kong.
Another Hong Konger here! I'd have to say this video is one of the best HK travel I've watched! You totally nailed it! Makes me love my city more!
Probably the best travel guide of Hong Kong I've ever seen. Love it!!!
So far your videos have been the best travel guides I’ve seen, both in terms of video quality and esthetic as well as recommendations. I used your Oahu travel guide and had a great time. A highlight of that trip was the Hoomaluhia garden. Parking was free entry was free and I was shocked that it wasn’t overrun by tourist because it is such an amazing place! So thank you for that!
Kimberly H Thanks so much! So glad to hear that! Yeah, I love that spot on Oahu. Thanks for the comment:)
All the best,
M
Hi.r u from hongkong?
Loved it! So great to see you and your team back, you all have been missed! Hong Kong has been on my "Must Visit" list and now your video has caused it to move up the ranks to must visit in the next 12 months. I will have to look at high season versus low season and visa requirements and plan accordingly. Thanks again for a wonderful video!
Kayos501 Thanks so much! Glad you liked it! Thanks for all the support every time I post a vid:) And yeah...Hong Kong is pretty amazing. Have a great time when you end up there. Also...the visa situation is deferent there than in mainland China. Coming from the states, I don’t need a visa. And if you end up there in summer, just be prepared for the super hot humid weather...so pack accordingly:)
All the best!!!
M
Awesome vid, thoroughly enjoyed it…thank you so much!
Your channel & Attaché are my favorite travel channels!! You guys always give the best advice!
mexiaznann Thanks so much! Yeah, Attaché is a great channel. That guy does solid videos:)

You've actually covered ALL the must hit spots and more. Still amazed you queued for all the busiest places, only wish I knew about taxi-ing up to the Peak much earlier. Love your video, thank you 👍👍👍

You nailed it with this video. A very good guide about HK. In my opinion the most awesome city in the world. 👍👍
Mr Wang Thanks so much! So glad you liked it. And I agree. It is an incredible city:)

I have flown in and out of Hong Kong airport a good few times since 2007 en route to Manila and London or Paris. It is an amazing view from the approaching plane. With just a few hours to spare between flights I once jumped on the train and got into town somewhere for a quick wander around. It was amazing. Later this year I hope to spend a week there with my wife and daughter. Can't wait!
Amazing video. I’m in the city right now and it’s just stunning. Thanks for the tips!
I lived in HK for 6 years and I have to say, you nailed it. There is a love/hate relationship with HK when you live there but I have to admit that I miss it so so much now that I moved out.
Jolanta Bailey hey I have the same situation as yours, I just moved out from HK 3 weeks ago and I already missed it,and I lived there for like..7 years
Hey Matt!
I wanted to let you know that my fiance and I are at HK right now and we've already tried more than 5 of your food recommendations and they were not less than SPEC-TAC-ULAR!
Thanks man! You made our trip to HK much tastier and enjoyable!

I'm from Hong Kong and currently away for my university studies. But can I just say this is such a well-made video, brilliantly filmed and narrated, it made me feel as though I've transported right back home (definitely made me miss home even more though XD) Thank you for doing Hong Kong justice and producing such wholesome content!
Athena Lai Wow thanks so much for the wonderful comment! I adore Hong Kong, and it always means a lot to get the approval of the locals. Best of luck with your studies!

If you're taking some time to visit Macau, you now have the new option to go there by bridge instead of boat. The bridge is newly built.
@@chunghinsun5899 Yay, thanks for the info!
@@chunghinsun5899 so the bridge is complete and open for use?
@@dave928 yeah. The bridge is opened. They have buses that goes to Macau from Hong Kong. My parents took one just to checkout the bridge. I believe the buses stop at the casinos, which would be convenient if you're planning to go there to begin with. The old way by boat require you to take local transports to the casino after clearing customs at the dock. Some of the casinos have shuttle buses to the dock as well if you ask around.
Hi Matt! Your video is fantastic! You are so fun to watch! Please do one for Taiwan! Would love to see that! And please keep making more videos!! By the way, you remind me more of Hugh Grant! 😄
Staci H Thanks so much! Glad you like the videos!! Really appreciate it:) I would love to do a video for Taiwan, but I’ve actually never been there, so I would need to visit first. I never make videos for places I don’t know well:) So maybe someday:) And haha. Yeah I get the Hugh Grant thing all the time.
All the best,
M

Best travel guide to HK that I’ve seen. Thanks!
If only the rent and properties aren't so soul crushingly expensive, HK would be the most ideal city to live in imo, I missed it some what.
Fun fact, Hong Kong has been ranked as the world’s least affordable housing market for a ninth consecutive year.
True

You have to fasten your seat belt when you got into a taxi ! $5000 fine ! Haha!
As a Hong Konger, thank you for capturing the essence of the city and presenting it with such a wonderful lense.
21 years of my life I lived in this awesomely unique city!
Thanks for this captivating, inspiring and certainly truthful depiction of! Loved it!
Matt, everything food and place you try.. Is expensive. My first trip there..I hardly eat proper meal 😔 I love the cherry, it's cheaper than Malaysia.
You forgot about the wan chi Wednesdays. 😂😂
do you mean the station wan chai? because as far as I know you don't spell it that way
That's where I used to live

i literally live in hk idk why im watching this
manggaetteok Haha because it’s so awesome???
As a local in Hong Kong, i strongly advise u not to buy anything in temple street, ladies market and stanley market, those are cheap and fake stuff that their only purpose is to rip tourists off.
Yeah and if you do know what you're getting yourself into, make sure you haggle them down in price.
Just visited this beautiful place only last week, yet I couldn’t click that play button quick enough! Absolutely LOVE your travel videos Matt, truly my fave on RUclips, worth the wait every single time! 👌🏻🙌🏻
