LOL!!! My reaction as well...they're to young to remember actually sitting at one and writing a letter or doing bills.. they didn't even look for a secret cash stash compartment!!!😂😅🤣❤
@@joannegaughan6132 -- That's probably exactly the reason. Email, text messages, automatic paycheck deposits, online bill payments, and so forth are going to eventually make items like this into antique store curiosities, like spinning wheels.

The pipe on the side of the bathtub at 12:55 is an overflow which drains water from the top of the tub so that it doesn't overflow when the tub is full of water
I couldn’t believe that neither one of them knew what it was. Phil even put his hand on the drain cover inside the tub. You sure don’t want to overflow that tub.
What a fabulous apt. You just can’t really get a full feel for what can be done with any space until you see it with furniture and decor in it! This place is stunning!. I can see why he referred to it as the crown jewel! It’s definitely that!
Wait - 3.85M and no in unit washer/dryer? And to put one in you have to get board approval? I was okay with the price until I heard that. I didn't like the fact that the pantry was so small, but I could have dealt with that. The lack of W/D in an apartment that cost this much, however, is a deal breaker for me.
No W/D and despite all the built in closets, there seemed little space for coats and dresses. My major nitpick is that the 2 full baths are both en suites, meaning whoever gets the 3rd bedroom has to either make do with the half-bath (No shower for you!) or walk through the primary or secondary bedroom to get ready in the morning. Cringe. Other than that, a very nice apartment.
I assume that somewhere in the bowels of the building there are humble apartments for the staff. I wonder if they have to use the freight elevator when they come up to serve you. BTW, that chrome pipe attached to the bathtub is probably the overflow drain.
@Richard Vinsen it may sound insane, but staff studios do exist as an option for posh apartments. This is so you can get "live-in" staff while still being separate from you when you want privacy. Some households get them exclusively for the driver, while the housekeepers have their own staff quarters off the main unit's catering kitchen
Hmm... unmoved--especially at $3.8M. However, the Interior Designer did a helluva job with the interiors! K-U-D-O-S!
