Usually high crime areas. No one wants to make a choice between paying $2500 for studio vs. A 1 bedroom reaonable rent in a high crime area

I'd do opposite what Cash said in that first studio. I'd use the sunny side as my living room & my bed by the closets. I need light during the day.

I liked the flat with the serial killer meter room toilet, creepy abandoned warehouse, oh and the apocalyptic laundry room with the flashing red alert light. Nifty weird-ass vibes.

I’ve always found it cute & funny that he calls closets “walk in closets” just cuz he can step into them 😆 a true walk in closet is like a tiny bedroom, u can actually walk around & extend your arms in all directions with room to spare, some are larger than others.

You tell him, Charles. He is always slamming doors in his videos. He's like an angry little boy. When the place is rented, it is going to look like all the appliances were gotten from a "Scratch and Dent " store. I love you two together like this. It cracks me up.
I was a little surprised that Charles had two apts prices in the twenties. His stuff is usually __very_ expensive.
That red flashing light & alarm in the laundry room is actually for the boiler room bcuz the super needs to reset it. I've seen it in several buildings where I've lived. A video with Cash Jordan & Charles Munroe is like watching a Laurel & Hardy comedy show! I'm shocked that some of them didn't have SINK SPRAYERS & Cash didn't say anything! I liked the last 3 the best but all of them had nice real wood floors. That duplex was fantastic & I don't see why you couldn't rent it as a 2 bedroom. That downstairs area was massive

No wonder most people in New York are in bad moods. Most all of their “apartments” are like 12k for a closet with horrible views.
IKR. Yet NYC for decades has attracted so many people, both residents & visitors. It also inspires various folks to say "I luuuuv it!" Regardless, Cash's vids are making me think the US's biggest city is a version of the Stockholm or Battered Wife Syndrome. But, hey, the city's Euro-type charm & balmy weather are really great.

People stay because of a lack of money from being born there or stuck there.
Visitors are tourists that don’t have to live in that crap. Nobody wants to live in Detroit, Chicago, or LA.

Charles, THANK YOU! For finally calling Cash out for SLAMMING EVERYTHING! OMG, I love watching his channel but he drives me insane the way he’s always manhandling; microwaves, doors, medicine chest, refrigerators etc. etc. etc.! Personally, l really liked the Duplex and the very last apartment.

LOL "baby changing station right off the kitchen." Ah, I think that is a coffee/tea station, given the outlet position, and the cupboard below. These apartments and their price never cease to amaze me. 😄
That huge apt could use a counter-depth frig. Then it wouldn't stick out so far!!! Surprised landlords don't look at those options.
I hope one day during a tour you bump into a future tenant, who later lets you come back and see how they decorated the place. 👍

That cabinet area outside the last kitchen can be used for a coffee bar or a larger kitchen appliance (or both). The cabinets can hide away other appliances that aren't always in use, and the drawers can be used for coffee pods, creamer, or whatever else would go with the items on the counter. The closet can be used as a pantry.
Kitchen tables are overrated. I have a dining area with a table, and I rarely use it. I've been in my house over a year, and I think I've used it twice.
Great comment! As soon as I saw that area I thought:. Wow! A butler's pantry. Like you I thought how useful it would be!
I literally never use my dining table. I got a cheap one from Ikea because the space looked empty and I usually do enjoy sitting at tables, but I usually sit at the L section of my boyfriend's desk instead.
Rice cooker, coffee maker, a toaster, and all associated necessities could fit on that counter with no issues

Dang! lol - okay the bathroom 🚽 through the laundry room makes me think of my first apt over 35 years ago in the city. It was “ground” level and had its own outdoor entrance! Yet to use the restroom you had to cross through the laundry room and there was a separate room that I had to lock and unlock to use it. 🤣
I also had to bang on the radiator to have the landlord send the heat. Yes it was a different world back then. I paid $270 a month!

Ya don't slam Charles' stuff! ;-) An interesting assortment of one-bedroom units. I liked the one on two floors, and I don't know why the downstairs room isn't a legal bedroom. The penthouse had lots of square footage, enough for a couple (though just one at a time in the kitchen), and you'd need at least two of you to pay that rent!

Yes that is a large living room with old school parquet flooring. That is a plus. Kitchen is dark with large appliances that makes it tight and uncomfortable.

I can see a juggling act in the last apartment to get your food in the oven. You'd have to stand off to the side, which isn't something I could deal with, especially when taking out hot food from the oven. And how can you possibly clean the oven properly? Each apartment had quirks I guess. I'd probably pick the studio with the half walk that was erected. But these landlords need to get rid of the 70's sliding shower doors; they can be a beast to clean.
Charles is cool, the Brooklyn hipster guy is cool too. I love this channel.

Yes Charles is correct, the landlord was thinking outside the box. They needed space for the pots and pans and chopping station. Bedroom small☹️. Tiny closet 😭.

rather see a half wall than that screwy wall with the cutout at the top in the first apt. Don't understand that bedroom wall in the third apt making a small "hall". Like the 2 floor one! That fridge in the 1000sq ft one is WAY too large & sticks out too far from the wall...it was a huge 1 bed place. Some apartments would be better off open space.....just wall off the bathrooms

Basement apartment was kinda creepy with the odd toilet and huge rat trap. But the first apartments under $3000 in Manhattan were ok.👍🏼
