Thanks for watching, from all of us at Matt's off-road recovery!
Ed’s filming had me dying 😂
“This way”
“You see my face?”
“Uh -raises camera- yeah”
I loved it :)
Amazing
Ed was great! Just not at filming...
@@Bierstadt54 he did a good job. He is a good backup camera man!
Lost it at "didja lose a shoe??" followed by Ed's shoeless foot lmao
Ed's filming style is abstract. He is the Picasso
of the off-road world.
Yep, no one can film a taillight like him.
He is good with the flashlight.
I love how Matt is so patient with Ed. He takes the time to appreciate his elders and that is less and less common. Way to go Matt 💪
That is so true and it’s very sad.
Matt is the most patient dude on the planet -- thanks for being so nice to Ed 👍
Please don’t ever turn into history channel ,,,y’all have the best show ever on your own!!!
Yea honestly that would sucks being in a damn contract and they choose what to do and film and you can’t do nothing about it.
True, but this channel kind of reminds me of the discovery channel back in the good old days of mythbusters.
Bang on...good channels tend to go corporate to much, its this period of a channel lifecycle that is where its best. Later so the production values are decent but not too far advanced where everything is contrived and always trying to upstage the last video
Did you hear that history channel wanted to buy them out or something?
@@whatnowmf1663 i did not. And honestly I wouldn’t even if they offered a pretty penny.
Good ole' Ed!! He's a weatherman, gold miner, story teller, joke teller and NOW he can add cameraman to his long list of jobs ;)
don't forget shoe retriever
And he contributes wisdom to every situation 😁
Mr Ed look like an octopus, camera, light, tools....every thing ....no Mr Ed ....Fantastic Ed...just need another three...jejeje
Right ? !!!!!!!!
He's a good friend to Matt and I am sure it's vice versa or a two-way street 😀😀🤠
Ya good for ur 1st filming gig Ed !!!!!
2 👍🏽👍🏽 up 4 Ed !!!!!
Those Milestar tire's seem to help u , Matt, quite a bit !!
Tho' I'm sure it is a team effort of tires rig AND Matt behind the wheel. Do u still stand behind those tires Matt ????
R u still on 37's ?? Or up to 40's or ????
@@jimvalliere1562 oh yeah huh !!!! 😂
The joy Matt brings Ed by having him ride along is just awesome. Matt is just good people.
Yeah he is..
No cursing, good disposition, level-headed, will take advice and explore all options, good dogs...
All around good egg : )
I’m sure Ed brings Matt just much joy too. Both are awesome!
Every kid in America needs to watch this video as Ed demonstrates how to hold the light on an expert level!!
still cant hold it right for my dad to this day 😒😒 been doing it for years now too 😭
Lol
Absolutely... Man could be the oldest Olympian to ever win a gold medal if they added flashlight holding... And I'm not being sarcastic... Kept that dam thing EXACTLY where it was needed at all times, and made every effort to avoid shining the dude doing work in the face. An absolute legend!
I hope someday someone will be as kind to Matt as he is to Ed
I hope Matt is as much of a man as Ed when he is Ed's age. I have no reason to doubt that he will be.
They both seem to be really good people!
Ed is a legend. I can only imagine the life he’s led, and the experiences he’s had.
Ed is the best... love the channel
Matt has more patience than me, eds first shot where he had the camera the wrong way would have been enough for me, i still have a similar video on my phone of my dad and one of his friends trying to video something on an iphone and there is about a minute of (is this thing on) then 30 seconds of the one holding the cameras face before they got it turned around
Ed may not be Matt’s best camera man but he’s definitely Matt’s best weather man and shotgunner!
I don't know I think Lizzie's got that.
@@renegade44040 maybe you’re just looking at the eye candy factor! lol. In that category Lizzie is the number one!
Ed reminds me of my grandfather. Good memories.
Camera and torch. Brilliant 😎
Ed is ride-or-die.
This channel is almost a comedy now, so we are going to rescue a rear wheel drive that has attempted to tow a small town through the mud and then a smaller front drive that attempted to drive through the same mud in the dark. Lizzy does the weather and Ed has a go at being cameraman. Rudy proves he can run like Randy without falling over and Matt washes his hands in the mud and snow again! On the next episode the team take to the sand with the snow cat and rescue a boat.
Yep! Its a great channel!! Well done you guys!!
11/10 would read this again. :)
This was great! I laughed hard enough that my girlfriend asked what was so funny.
Lol
I haven't seen a snowcat rescue yet. Still going through the older videos...
Ed is somethin else I'll tell ya. to come out with Matt in the middle of the night in the cold and mud when he could just as well gone to bed ,never a complaint about anything and running a camera and the flashlight at the same time....he is a tough and very likable man.
WE NEED AN ED CAM! Just give him his own go pro and let him film everything from his point of view!!!!!
Give him a gopro head head mount.
Make Ed Cam a regular segment
Yeah, I wanna see a camera attached to a hat or some other head gear. Something Ed will walk out the door with, without thinkin.😝
@@dash8896 That's exactly what I was thinking. An Ed POV shot.
Chest Cam!!
Ed's filming was great. He showed us the actual shit you guys have to deal with when he got out of the Jeep. He never complained just Ed another day (night).
I agree! Ed rules
Matt always seems like such a genuinely good guy who loves and cares about other people. Also, Ed is a rock star....
Yeah Matt does a great job dealing with frustrating situations he doesn’t get angry he just keeps on working and smiles about it great guy 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Edd the Hero!!! Other old Men are sitting lazy at Home in front of the TV.....Not Ed, he`s rescueing other People. Thumps upt !!!!
He takes a couple weeks off every year to go prospecting too.
Never underestimate Old Men with a tatse for 4x4 . We were doing things like that back when a solid roof on a 4x4 was a luxury.
Hey now, I resemble that comment, but it's just a tablet not tv
The good thing about an afternoon nap is you are ready to go rescue somebody that evening! Ed got the hang of the camera, but he is a professional at holding that flashlight to light up the work area.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
ED” hold the red light towards me ?” That had me dead because he always gets the camera pointed towards him for questions
Ha! Ha! Too funny eh? ;-)
💀💀💀
The relationship between Matt and Ed is amazing. Ed is an amazing videographer!
Lizzie is an exceptional young lady, not often I see a gal her age that's happy to be out working in the yard!
Good job Ed, you're more than just a good weatherman.
That's just one of the many reasons
why you could never give me a good enough deal to get me to buy a rental car.
“I hold the red light towards me” love Ed.
What a trooper! Don’t think we’ve ever heard Ed utter a disparaging word. We need more Eds in this world.
good point
I like your pic, Clemson fan?
Except that time he said the Hyundai driver must have rocks in his head lol
Yep... even worse. Lifelong fan and an alumnus.
@@pwhurley49 fellow Clemson fan here in Arizona.
We need a bit of a documentary about Ed. He’s such a great part of your team that we need to know a bit more about him! Where he lives, what he has for breakfast, his recommendations for dinner, how you guys met, etc. Love to see that.
I just love Ed. I don't care what he films, he is always there holding the flashlight or doing whatever he can. Even clearing rocks. He is hard core for sure.
Ed: What kind of vehicle is it?
Matt: It's a rental car
Ed: Giggle
I just love that guy.
We need Ed merch!
More Ed cam!!
At what point do you have a rental car and say "I don't think I am not going there"? Kiss your deposit goodbye on detailing alone.
And from California. It figures.
@@boogierobot5207 Absolutely!
I never knew I could love the XJ or Ed more until this video!!! The power of that Banana and the sweet innocence of Ed makes him so adorable!!! 🥰🥰❤️🐞
You guys always remind me to be a good person. I know it's different behind the scenes, but you can't fake the genuinely good people you have on your crew. Be kind. Do the right thing. Be helpful. Be capable and self sufficient. Who knew I'd be getting life lessons watching a tow channel. Much love!
We've been roped in
Get it? 😎
Poor Ed, He’s always so willing to help. That was definitely not the place for him to be with the mud and darkness. He gets an A+ for effort! Ya gotta love Ed.
Ed did GREAT as backup cameraman ; but it really shows HOW MUCH the whole crew goes through to get us these incredible videos. THANKS GUYS!!! 👏😎👍
That's what i was thinking. Props to Randy, Rudy. Haven't seen Bryn in a while. What happened to her?
Ed may struggle with the camera, but the man knows how to hold a flashlight!
Put the camera on the flashlight!?
@@dougmhenriksen Boom!
You best fucking believe he does!
@@Thatboogboi69 hey....language buddy...its a family channel
I pointed this out to my flashlight holder. It _is_ an important job!
you can tell by the way Ed was holding the flashlight, that he was yelled at as a kid on how to hold it.... XD
You don't often see people who actually know how to shine a flashlight for others. I'm 56 but and my dad taught me well and I can see that Ed was taught the same. Great job Ed!
Couldn’t help chuckling watching Ed do the filming. This is one dude who will do anything to help a friend.
Few people know this but, twenty some years ago Ed was a cameraman on the set of “The Blair Witch Project.”
Did they get out? 😂
Holy crap that WAS 20 years ago! Now I feel old!
@@om617yota8 you’re welcome 😉
@@chriscoulthard4947 nobody knows but Ed!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ed and Matt a great combination. It is really nice that you found each other, good for all of you and us.
Ed is such a trooper filling in wherever he is needed!
That was a retired NYS Trooper Tahoe that you pulled out. It has a stability weight hung underneath that added to your hard pull. Even with the added weight they were unstable at high speeds and turns. The LED spot light and heavy push bar was the give away.
NYS has been phasing those out for a while now in favor of the Chargers
You really need to use Ed as a camera man more often and let's all give him a round of applause for being awake that late🤗
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇸
Sounded like Ed was about to start singing a little Blues song there at the end
"Well, there was this little car from California,
'bout a quarter mile down this muddy road,
Had to pull 'em all the way back.
Laid down in the mud, got 'em out,
They were happy, and thanks for watching!"
Hahahahahah
Not only did he do good with the cam. He’s got the light right where you need it. You know he did that on instinct.
I remember people doubting yellow banana when Matt started this channel. Telling him he needed a big tow truck for his job. But this Jeep gets the work done 99.8% of the time. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
He does have tow trucks too. He just doesn't film much of what they do.
I remember those banana doubters too...they didn't/couldn't understand how an xj was used as Fleet vehicle by the government. It was specifically designed as industrial grade light offroad capable vehicle. That zombie hunter Tahoe was probably at max weight with survival gear. This video demonstrates the xj capabilities perfectly....I mean there is tons of driver's skill here happening too. The way Matt handles the mud is incredible, and it's almost like he's having fun too...?
@@rkuba4214 i think it's partly because people haven't used kinetic ropes and don't understand that they allow you to be more aggressive and store energy. If he were using a tow strap or chain, he wouldn't have the weight for lots of situations. Not saying that's the whole reason he's successful, he has tons of experience and the jeep is a good rig.
@@Lucas12v Much agreed, the kinetic ropes change the momentum dynamics. But there's still pedaling skill with confidence in the jeep capabilities. Every time I watch these offroad recoveries I think of my own recovery experience from 25 years ago...my boss's wife parked her car off her driveway, sank her car deep in mud. I was called to go get her out. I arrive and she's coming out of the house carrying a 10 foot 18 gauge brown electrical extension cord, which she gave it to me. I look at her, and she says use this to pull my car out. She continues to say that her husband was telling that the new straps are going to be all muddy now. And she said that her brown extension cord is really easy to clean. I then had to use every muscle in my body to remain professional. Fast forward, 6 months later I still was using every muscle to remain professional. Every time I saw her, every muscle was used... Finally a year later, I told my boss about his wife and the brown extension cord and the mud. We both died laughing. He lost his bladder when I said that she's smart and she wasn't giving me her white 18 gauge extension cord.
You gotta love Ed. He did some filming and flashlight work. I was rolling when he said he kicked his shoe off.
We LOVE Ed. He is always there to help.
Without this channel, no one would ever know that Matt and Ed were out saving
people in the middle of the night. --- Thanks for the great upload. ---
Once the Corvair is at 100%, I sure hope we still see plenty of Banana videos. I'd have to say it is my favorite vehicle on RUclips.
I’m gonna assume it becomes Rudy’s to trail behind Matt, instead of using Rudy’s own Jeep. I agree with you....the Banana is now an iconic vehicle!
Yeah i agree, the corvair is really cool and a beast but watching the jeep is awesome.
well yeah. but ones like the tahoe in this video will be done with the corvair. thats why he is building it. needs something better for the bigger jobs.
@@Stackali i get that but sometimes its just amazing to see what he can do with the jeep.
Either way im still going to watch because they seem to be awesome people.
All I can say is that I'm glad Ed is around, and I'm glad that you guys all know Ed. He's such a great guy.
I think you are the best example of a supporting American father who does everything for his family's happiness, I have huge respect for you and always watch your videos because you give me so much positive energy, mad respect! I am learning a lot about how I should act around other people from your videos
How can you NOT love Ed....he is a trooper. Matt, I don't know how much money you make with rescues, but you earn every penny man👍👌
We are so blessed to have Ed , in our lives. 👍
"I went to kick it and its come off" Ed you rock harder then BonJovi
Ed is a treasure. God bless him and Matt.
I've commented on it before Matt and I'll do it again - the way the rear door on the Jeep opens so well brings a tear to my eye!
I’ve been watching since Matt used to film himself. These with you and Ed were always my favorites
I am getting fixated on the Banana's roof lining. It seems to be having a life of its own and trying to escape. The passenger side sun visor has a lot of character too.
Don't forget the mic(?) that sometimes hangs down near the dome light :P
Maybe time gor a reliner video on how too
I've never been able to determine some vehicles end up with sagging roof liners and others do not. I've had expensive vehicles (Porsche Turbo Cayenne) that had a sagging roof liner in the rear (so that it wasn't all that noticeable) and in my poor student days, much cheaper cars that did not have sagging roof liners. My vehicle these days (Jeep JL) does not have a roof liner, so I should not have to worry about that on it at least)...
I once had a headliner do that. I fixed it by taking it out, tearing the fabric off. Then removed the rotting sponge the cloth was glued to from the foam backing. Cut some quilting batting the shape of the headliner foam, put the cloth back over it and sewed clear buttons though the layers in a grid to hold everything in place. Hotglued the edges and put it back in. Never had a problem with it again and it looked great, like a stuffed chair back.
@@cojones8518 Are you anywhere near Uhta maybe you could fix the Banana. I rekon that ne day all the passengers in it are going to be swallowed up by the roof liner coming down.
I just love watching this , entertainment from start to end real super nice people , beautiful scenery and no actors.
Ed's "first person view" flashlight holding was epic. That needs to be taught to the other camera crew members!!
New game idea: flasligh sim. First person only, always in the dark, roadside repairs.
I could watch the Matt and Ed Show all day long! 😂
I feel like a kid in 1976 on Saturday mornings waking up to watch cartoons, when I seen the notification this morning. LOL
You just gotta love Ed.....such a great character for this channel! Great filming even while losing a shoe....OMG...I'm dying here!
What an incredible rescue. That looked like mega slick muddy conditions. Well done!
ED is awesome! Recovery assistant, Commentator, weather reporter and now camera man. Lots of skills! Well done.
Good morning Matt and team and to all MORR fans. I hope we have MORR days like this. Have a good day and stay safe. Cheers
Cheers William
Great Job Ed! What a hard worker - pulling the night shift with a smile and always helping wherever he can! Thanks for letting us tag along.
Always amazed at how well the Banana preforms- good thing there are lots of people who risk the muddy roads to camp they keep you in business
Closes I get to off-roading is when I drive on my mother's gravel driveway. I never thought I would find videos of vehicle recovery so enjoyable.
Ed blinding the crap out of Matt with the flashlight was comical! Haha
What you really gotta appreciate was the POV flashlight holding! Like I was really there! Good job team.
I love Ed how he was way more conserned with helping and working rather than holding the camera. Ed is a legend.
I love Ed's Camara work. Everytime I find one where he films. It's just the best
Great job, Ed! Fans of this channel don't need perfect camera technique. We are just happy for new footage!
Way to go guys, gotta love Matt & his team. Take Care and God Bless
I 🥰 Ed !!
Every shop has a old guy ! I know I was that old man hanging out at the shop !
Shops need that, “ONE OLD GUY” just to be EXTRA HANDS ! SO NEEDED !!!!
Is there anything Ed can’t do? He knows just what is needed, takes initiative, and always has a smile no matter the situation.
By far edd's the best camera man you have he had all the action angles perfect he needs a raise ASAP
Have a good Friday everyone and wish you a great weekend :)
Also looks like mats going to need some good mud tires for this season lol
You to brother
You as well ! God bless everyone
I'm simply amazed at that workhorse of a Jeep!
The bumper on that Tahoe was amazing.....real coverage and not just pre-runner BS. Actually useful!
Your Patience's with ED, is Commendable !
Matt's patiences with everyone is commendable.
Ed’s hired . Best damn filmer /flashlight holder I ever seen
Ed's a beast!! Weatherman, camera man, tow rope wrangler. Not afraid of rain, snow or mud... and a gold miner! THE BEST ALL AROUND CHANNEL ON RUclips!!!! Keep 'em coning Matt!
You are such a chilled out boss to have. Great to see how you care for your team.
Life is simple I see a “matts recovery” video and I click it
Matt's skills and the Yellow Banana never cease to amaze me.
That's a match made in mud.
My love and respect to this wonderful team on every rescue and tons of work and fine filming but Ed takes the cake I loved it ..
Ed is a time capsule, not many like him left. Good to see him with purpose.
Like many dads, Matt takes it personally when the windshield isn’t clean 😅
Matts always grazing. Like a wild gazzelle. So majestic. We love u, Matt.
Thankfully you did not call him a bear.
This is of my favorite recoveries by far. Thanks Ed for the filming!
This man is a life saver! May God bless you abundantly!
I'm continually amazed that Matt can find traction on slick surfaces (like mud and/or fine sand) by really spinning those 4 tires. It's like magic...
Magic is just science you don't understand 😉
In other words, I agree but I'd bet Matt wouldn't think too much of it. To him it's just work!
Whoever does your edits is awesome. Love the Ed shots.
Ed deserves an applause for doing the best he can given tough circumstances 👏
Ed is a LEGEND..😂😂
He needs an Oscar for his filming.
I think Ed needs a gopro on his head. The Ed cam would add a unique angel to each video.
I'm waiting for Matt to start a spinoff "Gas Station Food review" channel.
