- James looks at the newly proposed plans to move out of Vicarage Road and into a new 33,000-seater carbon zero football stadium to be built on Bushey Hall Golf Club.
The stadium would be joined by a 6,000 seater indoor arena, a 200-bed hotel, offices, conference facilities for up to 1,000 people, a cinema, restaurants, the creation of a country park, and recreational facilities like football pitches and a Go Ape course.

Thanks for watching!
The new stadium would be cool but Vicarage Road is iconic. I think I would prefer a new stadium, in a few years though.
Vicarage road can be expanded to about 30,000. That's more than enough for a club that has spent the last 30 years mostly in the 2nd tier of the football pyramid.Nothing worse than having a partly full stadium matchdays. Look at stadiums like Milton Keynes, Chalton,Bradford for example.1000's of empty seats.
100%. I hope we don't end up in a soulless modern day bowl! I understand the excitement amongst the youngsters but the Vic is one of very few town centre grounds left in the country and it's seen by most away fans as one of the best days out. Too much history and nostalgia.
I agree. Where will the extra supporters come from? Silly project, silly money. Hate to disagree.
The stadium looks unreal. but we can’t even fill Vicarage Road no way we fill this stadium 😂😂
We fill the vic but wouldn’t fill this new one
Premier League clubs need more than 30,000 in future so any ambitions will need to move.
The main reason for empty seats in the prem is season ticket holders not attending. More seats for open sale will be filled.
At least it doesn't sound like one of those soulless out of town stadiums. I don't drive, so this wouldn't be so bad. There's something homely and spiritual about the Vic though. You can't replace that.
Need to drop ticket prices then fill out this lovely stadium.
I would love it new stadium but I would hate it because I haven’t Been to the Vic yet 😂
Plans for new stadium have been rejected it's a shame other football clubs are building but our useless watford council rejected the plan luton town building a new stadium opening in 2026 if watford want to compete in facilities and othe projects they need to step up instead building unfordable housing
You'd be paying a lot more for your ticket. We need to attract young fans and not deter them.
not against this but 1. i dont want a watford stadium thats not in watford and 2. i dont want
a stadium called something like the 'watford community stadium' or the 'sportsbet.io (or other sponsor) arena
Vicarage Road could be expanded
April fools?
I’m afraid not! Article can be found on the Watford Observer. 🙌
Love the Vic but this would be amazing
Yeah this would be amazing
30,000 capacity - need more than that.
New stadium plans say 33,000
