As a 43 year old fan who watched my first game in 1986 I find this kind of summary amusing. It's something the big clubs are obsessive about (Man United, Liverpool etc) but has never been something on mine and I assume any other Watford fans radar. In reality, we have been punching well above our weight for many years, the fact we have spent 6 of the last 7 years in the top flight is a success in itself. Just look at the big clubs: Sheffield Wednesday etc who have been scraping around in league 1 for years. We have had many successes over the years, promotions as runners up and through the play offs, an FA Cup Final appearance in 2018,.along with some great victories in the league against the top sides. As fans we take huge pride in those successes and there are many teams who would love to be in our position. COYH.

As a fan of Sparta Prague, I heard about Sparta's matches with Watford in the third round of the UEFA Cup in 1983. At that time, Elton John was the owner of Watford. Sparta won 2-3 at Vicarage Road and still Elton John behaved like an absolute gentleman. The players who played for Sparta at that time still remember him coming to the booth, shaking everyone's hand and giving them his record. Watford then lost 4:0 in Prague. But each of the players remembers how gentlemanly Elton behaved even in a situation where his team lost.

As someone who started following Watford in 1968 with my dad in those days the ambition was just to stay in the football league rather than winning anything! Hi, I'm a Watford fan. The club gets a lot of criticism (sometimes justified) from the media regarding their record of firing head coaches. This video is an example of the good side of the club that rarely gets mentioned, going out of their way to show you around the stadium which most clubs would decline. They do great work in the community. If you liked the artwork check out Murwalls that have done other football art around the country.

It was a question in an impossible pub quiz I went to a while ago and I can't actually remember the answer. I've been trying to recall it. (ACTUALLY, I remember the answer now, it was Rochdale, but in the next week's pub quiz someone pointed out that Rochdale won the Lancashire Cup, which was an actual trophy. So there must be still a team out there. I think there are NONE in the top four divisions)

Hiya Sam, Newcastle haven't won a domestic trophy since 1955 (F.A Cup) that's a pretty long time, saying that the Championship is a difficult league to get out of, the hardest in the world, I don't know how the Watford fans can applaud Graham Taylor, Turnip Head was awful for England, played 37 won 17 drew 13 lost 7, and one of them defeat's to USA, I seem to remember, when you come back up North would you please do Workington Reds? their a ex league club Workington were Expelled in 1977 when Wimbledon came in, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England

At no point is anyone calling us a big club. Just one of the biggest without a major trophy. Again, that does not mean we are actually big!

How do you define biggest without a major trophy 🤷‍♂️Watford being in the top 2 divisions is hugely punching given our historical performance pre Elton and Taylor and obviously the town is small, and an over spill of London so difficult to build a fan base when so many people support London clubs etc.

Since WWII different winners of FL Div 1 then PL from 1992/3 are 18, FA Cup 28, League Cup 24 as all dominated by MU MC Liverpool Arsenal Spurs and Chelsea and many buy their trophies by splashing billions on players.
When will Chelsea Spurs Arsenal and Man U next win one of these trophies? Squeezed out by others splashing more cash than them.
FL / PL winners since WWII playing in 3rd or 4th since winning include include Wolves, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Derby, Villa, Leeds, Ipswich, Burnley, Forest and Man City.
If the fixation is on why Watford have not won a major trophy there are others.

What do you define as a "major" trophy? If League 1 doesn't count as "major", then surely most of the Championship haven't won anything either.
