Love the Duplass bros, starting with mumblecore films, but oddly there seems to be a large segment of the American audience who are dumbfounded by Mark's ability to get roles. Agree osho, One I Love is one of my favorite films of past ten years.
I love how this channel plays a little preview of each piece of music/movie or whatever shown. It makes it really useful in finding new music so thanks so much !
Brilliance of Mark is he "confessed" to gaps and didn't make it a "hey buddy I KNOW music" kinda listing, where he picks albums he already has. Duplass brothers always thinking story.
I've watched dozens of these "What's In My Bag" episodes and I have to say this and the one with Jason Mantzoukas are my favorites. I thought The League was hilarious but had no idea the actors who played Rafi and Pete had such great taste in music. Well done, guys!
Please, PLEASE take a look at his twitter. He is the funniest dude in the music bizz, and on top of that super humble yet a really skilled musician. I saw him open up for Cloud Nothings in 2013 and i've been a fan ever since.
Duplass is a legend. I wonder if he's been a teacher. The efficiency of his language and his eloquence would lend themselves to being a profound instructor.
Stumbled onto Tangerine Dream's "Rubycon" in N.H. in the summer of '75. I ended up collecting all of their releases until Edgar Froese's passing, however "Rubycon" remains my favorite TD recording of all time..., although there are many gems all along the way.
nice! Love Mark and his brother, Room 104 is super inspiring to me as a director and then both Creep's were amazing! Love his record store picks as well as it turns out, I'll forgive his Tangerine Dream and Patti Smith gaps :P
im from chile and it is so hard to be in the world of records, most of big stores that are related to to redors only sold what is popular now a days in my country (wich is mostly electronic music, like modern electronic music xd and trap mos recently or reggaeton) and sometimes they bring like weird albums that EVERYONE is looking and they sell it for a stupid amount of money :c not even cd`s are as popular as they were when i was a little kid, i wpuld like that someday a community such as the one that is shown on this video would exist in Chile, now you just have to go to underground stores ( wich is not bad because these kind of people know a lot about music and it is really fun to chat with them) in wich most of the times you have to buy things that are used, that is not a bad thing but most of the times you will be lucky if they are in a good state, anyways keep it up with these videos is always great to relate with people that you admire in a such beuautyful field that is music, sorry if mi english is bad jajajajja.
I started watching this series today and it's been quite a ride (the episodes with Mikael Åkerfeldt, Silversun Pickups, Jason Mantzoukas are gold). Keep up the excellent work, Amoeba. I hope Mark Duplass has been enjoying Tangerine Dream; curiously enough, I've been checking them out recently. The albums Cyclone and Stratosfear are freakin' awesome
So if I ever see Mark, and he is from my hometown, I am going to ask him if any of these were disasters - Tangerine Dream, Patti Smith, and Joni’s 80s. This is old school when you bought and album or cd you took a chance, you listened to it all because there wasn’t endless free streaming albums and you couldn’t jump around unless you made a mixtape.
D... Did he just insinuate Madonna's True Blue wasn't laced front-to-back with hits? "White Heat" and "Where's The Party" are the two best bangers on that record and they weren't even singles.
Mark.. tangerine dream won't be a fucking disaster. and i'm sure the other record he told you get was phaedra.. i'd also suggest the sorcerer soundtrack..
ah oh......you gotta get involved with the mid 70’s NYC scene.....maybe even go back to 72’ with the Dolls. I promise you will be cultured. come on now! glad to see all vinyl and Tangerine Dream.
As nice and genuine as Mark Duplass is I just can't look at him the same way after watching the Creep movies..
Literally thinking the same thing
Beat me to it. The black eyes.
I know him from the comedy show the league so we have very different views of him lol
I saw him at this hotel I was staying at and I couldn't get myself to say hi to him because I had just watched Creep.
Same. Like, I was really getting into his movies but I’ve taken a break after watching Creep. I can’t unsee it.
Really didn't need new reasons to be in love with Mark Duplass, but here we are.
Same
This dude and his brother are killing it on Netflix lately
they've been killing it for years. so many great, understated films. Everyone should see The One I Love with Mark and Elisabeth Moss
Sometimes literally
@@flower5185 Your Sister's Sister and Safety Not Guaranteed are great aswell
Puffy Chair, fam. Start there and work your way back.

I always love this series because I always learn about at least one artist(s) and musicians I've never listened to yet. Thank you so much!
Creep is a lofi horror classic. Once you see his shark eyes, you can't unsee them. I was expecting 10 Huey Louis and the News albums.
CIRCLE OF TONE. ... and at least one Whitney Houston vinyl..
And a couple of Genesis albums...

Mark was actually in a great synth pop band called Volcano, I'm Still Excited!
The "I haven't listened to this legendary record - but will fix that problem now" is super refreshing.
I love Mark Duplass even more now for getting R.E.M.'s Document!
As someone who recently got into collecting vinyl and is always looking to expand my musical tastes these videos are invaluable
The Creep movies actually got me into him lol.
Finding about Ryler Walker feels like a very big thing today for me. Another great episode.
Please, PLEASE take a look at his twitter. He is the funniest dude in the music bizz, and on top of that super

He's the cuttest man in the world! Love him ❤
I'm literally in love with him
I found that Tangerine Dream record at a swap meet years ago for a buck (and nearly mint) and I never looked back.
Loving the R.E.M pick, my favourite band.
I hope they never stop shooting these little shows!!
Absolutely love this man and his work, my biggest inspiration so this was a BIG surprise!!!
Please watch paddleton, great movie with such an impactful story
I am going to this weekend, his picks were great and I love Ray Romano so it should be good.
Togetherness is an extremely underrated show
yes!
with a terrible series finale that ruined it
@@michelm715 Agreed, but it was rushed due to the show's cancellation.
Me and my gf were devastated when that got canceled
As someone who uses this as a recommendation channel, I appreciate this.
Shout out Volcano, I'm still Excited!!!
Lol the cameraman. Love the editing and humour in this series.
Where’s peach fuzz
This episode is going to be great... it is decided 🙏🏻.
"Night Ride Home" is an overlooked Masterpiece!!!
Im super excited to watch this
Mark’s into R.E.M., I love him even more now 🤙🏼
Great choices! Mark is a really cool dude.

I LOVE RYLEY WALKER!
I found about Harold Budd a year or so ago, I must have listened to The Pavilion of Dreams a hundred times in a week
Awesome guy!
Wild Things Run Fast was the first Joni I ever bought. I then went back and got For the Roses, Blue, Court and Spark etc.
nice! Love Mark and his brother, Room 104 is super inspiring to me as a director and then both Creep's were amazing! Love his record store picks as well as it turns out, I'll forgive his Tangerine Dream and Patti Smith gaps :P
Between this and Jason Mantzoukas for best In My Bag!
Heynong man, marks is really great but no one can touch the zouk
I stay, if you begin the list with R.E.M.
You click on a wmb video without watching the whole thing?
DM R Of course not, it's just a joke.
Good stuff!
This channel is killing my bank account.
Mark Duplass is an incredible person!
Luv the kinks
boy he's in for a treat with Tangerine Dream!
Paddleton has been the best movie of 2019 so far. Permanent favorite from now on!
Great show...like sideways...only..sadways
Excellent!
You know there's gonna be some good stuff when the person is checking a 'wishlist' of records on their phone while browsing
I was half expecting him to pull Peachfuzz out at some point.
Fuck yeah I love Mark
Fuck yeah. This guy is cool. Wish he didn't apologize for saying he thought Ben Shapiro was an alright dude, but Mark is still cool in my book.
Love me some Mark Duplass
Paddleton is an amazingly beautiful film, check it out on Netflix!
Ryley Walker is great

Omg yes he shouldve😃😃😒😒
Love him ✌🏻

Chalk Mark in a Rainstorm is my second favorite Joni Mitchell album after Both Sides Now (2000)
Paddelton made me cry. thank you
What a fucken legend this man
holy fuck! yes! Mark Duplass!
Can't help but imagine him in his role in Goliath...*shivers*
Awesome man!
Check out Mark's great performance in "Goliath" as well... Season 2.
I still love the Creep series. I’m waiting for part 3⁉️

Patti Smith's writing in Just Kids brings a lot of memoirists, and even amazing prose-writers to shame. Highest Eschelon of good writing.
I cant tell if he's cool or creepy after doing both a hit comedy show and a scary movie series lol
D... Did he just insinuate Madonna's True Blue wasn't laced front-to-back with hits? "White Heat" and "Where's The Party" are the two best bangers on that record and they weren't even singles.
music in the backround at the begining is from blue jay
such a sweet man!
What is the song used during Mark’s shopping montage? It sounds creepy and cool.
It's a Julian Wass song called "Tape Machine" from the "Blue Jay" movie soundtrack.
His role in Goliath was amazing.
Wild Things Run Fast!
La isla bonita!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Hello my name is Peachfuzz!" *STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP*
caught Sam Prekop at the top of his notes list
Not gonna lie I was expecting some Sam Prekop or Sea and The Cake. He probably already has them though..
Can you guys please get Failure to do one of these?!?!
Does anyone know the name of the song playing during the opening montage?
0:13 pause to see a nice list
How do you miss out on Patti Smith's 'Horses'! Come on Mark.
Bet you wouldn't have the nerve to confess to gaps. It's why he's a filmmaker and we're not.
Never knew I’m older than Mark lol.. Sorry Mark.. I’m glad he “discovered” Horses though.
Hissing of Sunmer Lawns hello?
Duke Silver - Practice Date
Carrie Brownstein sounding voice at end.
Does anyone remember True adolescence?
Did Patti Smith ever play with Humble Pie?
Mark.. tangerine dream won't be a fucking disaster. and i'm sure the other record he told you get was phaedra.. i'd also suggest the sorcerer soundtrack..
get HMLTD on here please 🙏
Oh my GOD it’s Peachfuzz
I know he was on The League...other than that I have no idea. I’m going to google him now since he’s “a legend”. X
Rubycon great. Phaedra GREAT.
i guess they didnt have the album with Sara loves her juicy fruit thats a shame
A true shame
He didn't have Sara Loves her Juicy Fruit
His actual favorite song is SARA JUICY FRUIT
I see a killer in his eyes
DADDY.
ah oh......you gotta get involved with the mid 70’s NYC scene.....maybe even go back to 72’ with the Dolls. I promise you will be cultured. come on now! glad to see all vinyl and Tangerine Dream.
I can see that LSD emanating from his spirit
