Speaking of incredible enduring survival stories, Touching the Void has to be one of the most amazing.
.. he talks about really good physicians. We are sadly lacking in even just regular, good Physicians. Carl Hart said that doctors are cops with stethoscopes. I couldn't agree more.
Something more people need to be aware of for sure
what do you mean by 'cops with stethoscopes'
I reframed my mind to think that effort is the reward...it might not show up right away but it's always there in the background. I told myself and am now accountable for doing 7 flights of stairs up and down 4x a day at my job while on breaks and first thing coming in. Sure...there's an elevator but that's the easy way out. No money or time for the gym, I found a way to incorporate climbing stairs in my daily routine. I lost 20lbs just from adding that to my routine. I did it for anxiety reduction but there was a domino effect with the rest of the benefits. I also don't have a car so I walk at least 25 minutes a day when I go in the office. I take all the stairs at the subway station instead of the escalator and I walk the platform back and forth until my subway comes. 99% of people are standing still on the metro platform scrolling useless shit on their damn smart phones! Get your steps in people, don't need a fit bit watch or whatever ...get moving instead of standing there stagnant. It's not complicated...get exercise as much as possible in a day since that will release dopamine in a natural way and not make you crave pleasure all the time.
Love Huberman, this episode was great. Just as always.
Your content rocks and keeps getting better, Chris, keep it up.
Hope!. I think it sort of comes down to hope. you succeed in making a distance that is within your ability but also shows a level of improvement , or gain of some kind or another.
If the language of this video was in Hindi, this video would have trended in India today😊👌🙏
Grow up aimless about the future and you have got a major dopamine issue. I think. Seems to be fixing finding your path, partially at least. When you got a path you got a goal - next cross roads.
That interview was great! There's a lot of neurological stuff in his own videos that make it difficult sometimes to pass down. This interview was nice, smoother package. +1
nail on the head.
If the path is creating goals to balance dopamine then I feel the goals are not genuine and I feel hard to stick to it.
Best comment. People who went through addiction know this best but nowdays youth is addicted to the internet, the most unrecognized addiction in history.
@@outlander234 absolute facts. All the youth today have dopamine issues. Their brains are in the same condition as drug abusers.
Good comment, but I’d like to say the path can be extracted from the goal. If you expect the long term goal to manifest from the path then there won’t be any clear goal because our paths are always changing to some degree. To have a goal in mind that you can create/find a path to drives this dopamine system even farther, I think, because your brain can gauge and reward/punish behavior that is either for or against your goal. The path will have obstacles of course, but with no goals in mind the path will have too many different forks for the brain to gauge positive/ negative behavior.
pace!
It doesn’t work if you have low self-esteem. Even when I achieve difficult things I still feel shit.
I just watched a bit of you on Rogan podcast. And I honestly have to say that YOU are a much better host/interview/conversation in EVERY way.great work darlin
love you
Excellent
Interesting.🤔 Does that get me a dopamine shot? !😝😏😇
I liked your comment, currently overdosing on the big D 🙂
@@davelordy I always overdose on Dopamine - I have Bipolar 1!🥴🚑💉💊🤷🏾♂️😇
Why are all the examples these outliers who are in ridiculously rare situations when most of us are just trying to catch the early train. It’s too easy to say this doesn’t relate to me when you use these examples . Mini goals can just be leaving the house in 5 mins and you will get the same dopamine hit and energy surge .
thats the greatest bullshit i ever heard
Great argument bro
