Favorite album is "Ride the Lightning" and most important album for me is "Kill Em All" (this was one of the first albums that introduced me to the world of metal) Before I listened to this new song, I went into it not knowing what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised at how different but good this song is. Always nice to hear your opinions. 🤘🏼🔥
When I first heard this tune the other night I was kinda torn, as far as my initial impression. Now a couple days have gone by and I have found myself repeatedly going back to listen to it, over and over. The chorus where James screams the song title is everything in this track. That and the kick drums. But just the way James climbs the ladder vocally to belt out the chorus is such an amazing hook. This almost feels like a sorta power metal almost-but-not-quite Dokken-type vibe meets British new wave meets sped-up Load riffage meets a more polished version of Hit the Lights. It's gonna be a go-to live song (the lyrics kinda reflect that) and the song's energy and the boys' own energy are undeniable. I can't explain it, but all I know is my ear loves it. I'm very happy Metallica is back with new tunes and I'm also very happy they kept the album under wraps so now it's arriving soon - to MY mind - rather than them announcing it 2 years out and then us playing the waiting game. These old dogs can still hunt.

I'm with you "...and Justice for All" is the goto Metallica album I go to when I fancy some Metallica. I listened to Lux Aeterna over and over when it came out, something that hasn't happened since the Black Album for me. I lost interest after Load. I think because so much of it is familiar is why I enjoyed it.

Got to see them in Detroit last weekend. It was a flipping blowout. 2 nights, 32 songs, pantera, 5 finger death punch, and 9 ice Kills as openers. Best concert I’ve ever been to to date. And I hate Detroit. Couldn’t change a thing for me. Loved it.

Load and reload sound? Really? I didn't get that at all. I thought a cleaner garage inc sound with a kill em all and motorheäd pace. It's in the spirit of hit the lights and motorbreath

Love the intro to this one. My first Metallica album was Reload, but I workeyd my way back in the catelog and fell in love. I think my favorite album at this point is And Just For All as a collection. I think though that Master of Puppets may be the most pivotal when you consider recording quality and style. I have to say on top of that all my favorite all time song is Seek & Destroy off of Kill 'Em All.
Black Album is one of the very best I have in my vinyl collection even Metallica isn´t one of my faves, still that LP is awesome and sound is mega. Presentation vinyl when it comes to punsh. Wish you guys could come to germany doing a listening session

I can't pick a favorite. I feel like every album is necessary and loved. Most important. Load. Load turned me onto other genres and I really consumed jazz and blues afterwards, country too.
Imho, The Black Album is the most important album that’s ever made in music (specifically in the metal scene), that album was a before and after, and, wether you like it or not, St. Anger was an important album for Metallica, it was built by all the struggles the band was going through, and it was an explosion of so many feelings that were suppressed before and during the recording, to be fair, I’m glad that they created that monstrosity And also-also, RTL is my personal favorite album from all the Metallica discography
Sounds very rock n roll to me , i can sense à bit of load and reload in there ! Radio format kind of song !! Much better than until its sleep thats for sure !! But i have to agree with pete on this, and justice for all is #1 for me and ride the lightning and master are equal masterpieces as well !! The black album was great but it wasnt intent for the pure trashmetal fans !! But hey its metalica and its great to see them again !! Have a good one buddy 's !!🤘🤘
