Great reaction guys, I really like this, it's definitely modern Metallica tapping into their past - and I absolutely agree about Lars, he's a very creative drummer and more interesting than many who are more technical 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Jim! Glad you enjoyed the video. Absolutely it feels like they are capturing an essence of their energy from the early days! And yes hats off to Lars for being a powerhouse and making his mark on the metal drumming world forever! 🤘
This is actually the fourth single, not the second. They also released Screaming Suicide and If Darkness Had A Son. So far all the videos have been directed by the same guy, and while they all have their differences, you can tell that there's a bit of a theme going with the videos.
Great point, Metallica have definitely had lots of different sounds throughout the span of their career, and with this song they have tapped into one of their classic sounds and released a good old thrashy metal track! 🤘
The amount of time I've seen someone say this 😂😂 theres so many bands today that still play in e standard and sound heavy af, granted I love metallica and they've been around a long time but not every modern band has forgotten that e standard can still be heavy, I'm just sick of people like you thinking there 'one of the few' when the reality is there are many that still write metal in e standard, you'd only think that if you haven't been listening to modern thrash and speed metal, even some death metal bands today still use standard!
@Krystal The Pink Poodle maybe he didn't say that though I assume he just meant generally yah know, either way there's still a lot of groups other than metallica playing in E
@Krystal The Pink Poodle yeah I can imagine especially when you take vocals into consideration, but I'm not just on about older bands I did say modern bands do still play in E, especially if it's thrash/speed/power/old school death metal yah know!
The yellow harks back to James' first guitar - that white one with 'So What' written on it, that guitar is still used and from age, the plastic has aged to a yellow. He got that guitar when he was 18 years old, 18 years is 72 seasons.
Hey man thanks for checking this one out! And thanks a lot for your feedback, glad you enjoyed the discussion. That's our main goal with our reaction videos is that we can provide some meaningful discussion to the viewers and get the conversation started/keep the conversation rolling. 🤘
Guys this is the 4th single…. Lux Aeterna, Screaming Suicide, If Darkness Had A Son and now 72 Seasons. So you should both go do the other two songs or wait. THIS SONG IS A BANGER!! Another epic title track to add to Metallica’s discography 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Im very happy what you say about Lars. So much people throw shit on him...but for me...he is one of the best drummers. Why? His style, his live performance, and he is the manager of the Band. And in the early days he goes to the studios with the first demotape and so much more work around the Band. You know what i mean? I think in the past Portnoy says the same.
Thanks so much for your kind words! We're glad you like our duo 😁🤘 Great suggestion, 512 is a hell of a tune from Lamb of God, we'll keep it in mind :)
This is juvenile but don't get me wrong I still respect them because they sold millions and millions and millions of copies of their Black Album which attracted so many Die Hard heavy metal fans.
Yeah guys I agree! I also think they should lose the fear of being more edgy and controversial (in a good way). The fact that they are like an institution now, makes it hard to avoid that burden of criticism and expectation from different generational fanbases. I think they got inspired by the Stranger Things scene aesthetically and the director did an amazing job.
Thanks for your comment Alex, and great point about the criticism and expectation from different generational fanbases. A very valid and interesting point to think about. Personally I think they could still retain that classic old school Metallica vibe whilst push the boundaries more in terms of being modern and creating/implementing new sounds and experimentation into their new music. And yes makes sense about the Stranger Things aesthetic!
There is some interesting part in that song, personally the video is pretty much always the same except for the color !!! There was space for maybe a bit more in that song because hey its 8min long !! Overall way better than Justin bieber !!!🤣🤣👍🤘🤘have a good one you guy's !!!!
Hahaha thanks for your comment Zack! Yeah the video was very colour-based with the visuals. Indeed there is room for a lot within an 8 minute song, but agreed always a million times better than Justin Bieber 😂👌
You say it's like the first three albums. Don't forget that those were mainly influenced by Dave Mustaine. Since his input is gone Metallica went down the drain thrash wise.

Yes apologies our mistake! 4th single 😁🤘
I think Metallica has evolved their sound through out the years and I think that's great. Great song! They have grown musically.
Agreed
Great point, Metallica have definitely had lots of different sounds throughout the span of their career, and with this song they have tapped into one of their classic sounds and released a good old thrashy metal track! 🤘
I fucking love hearing your dissection of the song. You guys kick ASS!!!!!!
The intro was all BASS!
Trujillo 🤘🤘🤘
Very cool content guys. Subscribed. I am also a Metal guitarist and been a Metalhead since i was 14 15. Metallica are my all time favorite band.
Metallica is the best band that's why 👌🏻
Hey Hamid thanks a lot for subscribing! We appreciate it and we're glad you enjoyed the video. Agreed Metallica are one of the all-time greats! 😁🤘
Love the opening 😊
Metallica is one of the few metal bands that can make E standard sound heavy

You got that fucking right
The yellow harks back to James' first guitar - that white one with 'So What' written on it, that guitar is still used and from age, the plastic has aged to a yellow. He got that guitar when he was 18 years old, 18 years is 72 seasons.
I will buy both, Metallica and new Extreme LPs for sure
this album says the band is in a whole other place of creativity im going to buy it
Nice reaction Pete & Vinnie. Love this song. You should listen to the other 2 songs released 🔥✊
Never watch reaction videos from your channel, but this is a really cool reaction. The discussion is good and on point. 👍

Good to hear someone complementing Lars for a change.
thanks Carl! cheers for watching
It's the 4th single 🤘
Pretty cool vídeo guys....Metallica rules...
Im very happy what you say about Lars. So much people throw shit on him...but for me...he is one of the best drummers. Why? His style, his live performance, and he is the manager of the Band.

Have you guys heard Screaming Suicide and If Darkness Had A Son.
Another great thing about them they don't use back tracking like kiss ,crue ,wasp like bands back in thier day
I think Hetfield's picking hand is enough of a backing track for 5 bands to play too 😂
PLS DO LAMB OF GOD 512 DUAL GUITAR COVER. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST DUAL GUITAR TEAM ON RUclips 😭🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥
Thanks so much for your kind words! We're glad you like our duo 😁🤘 Great suggestion, 512 is a hell of a tune from Lamb of God, we'll keep it in mind :)
Yeah.. Wowie..
This very so long music, killed 👍
Best review I have seen
Thanks a lot man really glad you enjoyed it!
Seek and destroy vibe
72 seasons stands for the first 18 years of your life ....the years where you grow from child to adult
If you would like to react to an artist you might not have heard of before, I recommend Aesthetic Perfection with the song Gods & Gold
👌
This is juvenile but don't get me wrong I still respect them because they sold millions and millions and millions of copies of their Black Album which attracted so many Die Hard heavy metal fans.
I have mix feeling about the song, intro good and the all sound. Bit something get a bit lost in the middle.
Thanks for sharing your opinion! It's a very long song and if you felt like it dipped a bit in the middle that's totally valid.
Its a standard tuning

Reaction Daniele Gotardo
This new Drop D and this nonstop power i like it!!!😊
Hola un saludo reaccionar a Tina S moonlight sonata
They have earned the right to do what they want when they want ... they are pushing 60 years old
My first question to any of them would simply be why do you guys not care anymore? It hurts cause it’s so obvious.
You say it's like the first three albums. Don't forget that those were mainly influenced by Dave Mustaine. Since his input is gone Metallica went down the drain thrash wise.
Such a tired trope. Get lost.
Talking about video lights during first chorus 🤦♂️, really?🥴
