Just commenting to emphasise how much I appreciate the calmed down presenting style of Becca. You still notice, that she is invested and her high energy level is really infectious, but it's no longer cringeworthy. Good job, Becca!

I disagree on the cringe worthy part but I do agree that this is still a great improvement for this type of game. Most games fair better from this energy, Fluxx, Munchkin, and other chaotic games probably would fair better with a bit more energy

Subscribed to Geek & Sundry because of the over-the-top fun energy of Becca's "How to" series, which I stumbled upon. It was ridiculous, it was fun and it made me care about board games I'd never otherwise play. This toned down version - sans the fun asides and high energy - makes for boring viewing and, by extension, makes the games she's describing seem tedious to learn/play. I really enjoyed the upbeat tomfoolery of the old style and would unsubscribe if not for the wonderful GM Tips with Satine Phoenix. Becca is 50% of why I watch G&S, with Satine and random sightings of Felicia Day making up the other 50%.

What did this game have to do with secret societies? What a waste of a theme.
As I recall, the intent was to design a game that seemed like a 'classic' complicated card game like Cribbage or Bridge, with the actions being symbolism adopted by the society. It's less a game about secret societies, and more the game a secret society plays.
