    Chris, there is zero doubt you know what you're talking about. I'm a 10 handicap but my ball striking and scores have never been better. Adhering to your guidance will cut my handicap in half within the next year - keep up the great work. Happy to see the success of your channel in such little time, that subscriber count is booming. Awesome job.

      Thanks. I am willing to bet the house that the video that will be coming out shortly will cut your handicap in half or not more in the next couple of weeks. I know that is a bold statement, but I honestly know it will, at least from a ball striking perspective.

      I really have enjoyed running across your stuff. I’d quit playing for years, but as of the spring started back. A long haul back has certainly been shortened with your instruction. I’m feeling my golf swing for the first time really well. My irons are getting flush.

    Chris- I’ve got to give you lots of credit. Honestly, I’ve never felt comfortable swinging my golf clubs, other than my wedges and 9 iron. Yes, like most ametuers hovering near 100 I can hit a pure golf shot if you give me several attempts- and of course when that happens it feels almost effortless. But most of the time I do things like you show in this video that get me jammed up, not releasing, topping the ball, etc. But here’s the thing, I watched your video and somehow it really resonated with me. I’ve thought before that maybe I should just turn my shoulders almost like I was swinging a baseball bat, but always decide that that can’t be right. But after watching your vide I decided what the hell and decided to pretend that the golf club was a sledge hammer and that my job was to swing the sledge hammer back and then bring it down and around as if I was trying to hit the head of a big nail on the ground pointed towards the target. At first I thought: “Wow, this feels like a very natural movement.” But another part of my brain was definitely thinking “This is never going to work because I’m bringing the sledgehammer/golf club down in such a way that the face is never going to turn to meet the ball.“ But amazingly and without even thinking about it the cub face turned over automatically and I hit several shots with greater force than I ever have in my life! It’s very liberating to feel I can turn the club around my body, let my wrists roll over naturally, and then bring the club down in an almost sideways fashion as if it were a sledgehammer and then making solid contact. This is so different than what I’ve heard anywhere else and I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it. I’m going to keep working on this and with your permission will reach back out to let you know how it goes. In the meantime, I just wanted to thank you and let you know how much I appreciate what feels like a significant breakthrough. 😊

    Chris, finally I'm playing good golf again thanks to your videos. Mr. Hogan and I were almost the same size 5' 9 with long arms and legs. My upper body though was much bigger and stronger but his hands were very strong I believe. At 68 I now have to use my whole body more and actually swing correctly! With your info I am now playing well again and getting better. I now have this horizontal movement as my main swing thought as everything else seems to just fall into place. I am finally shooting good scores again. Thanks again.

    Chris- I’ve watched this video several times and it’s a real game changer. I’m guilty of all the things you describe about amateur golfers, including letting that lead arm drop down. Now I understand why I frequently can’t hit through the ball, and sometimes slice the hell out of it. This swing actually feels much more natural to me and I think that’s because, as you explain, all of the parts of the body seem to be working in unison. I also find that by letting the arms just naturally roll back, I’m able to turn much further ever before. Thanks, Chris. I’m now going to go watch the video again and get out to hit some balls! 😊

    Great video left arm rotation un tapped power source

  • @paulyandle6081
    @paulyandle6081 11 месяцев назад +1

    I gotta watch a bit more BH footage, Chris, but I am more and more thinking that rather than rotating his forearms to square the face as the right elbow passes the hip, he simply straightened his bent right elbow which straightened the right arm... which squares the clubface every damned time. Works for me, anyway. No hand-wrist manipulation whatsoever. I Think he can be seen straightening the right elbow in the slow motion face on Coleman video to show impact. Pumps elbow straight, just like a piston. I also do not even attempt to swing downward at the ball, but continue swinging around at the target Parallel to the ground. Gravity (the secret in the dirt) along with tilt and centrifugal force Pulls the clubhead Down to the ball. To me its just like using a baseball bat. My 2 cents...

    Chris. Thanks for posting these videos. My pro was a PGA Tour player and he can articulate WHAT to do, but not HOW. Your videos have filled in the gaps. I’m crushing the ball … accurately … now.
    One question. I saw a diagram attributed to Hogan that describes the backswing as a pivot around a line running from the left ear to the right foot. This is how I swing. When you turn your hips left in transition, the angle shifts to that of a line from the right ear to the left foot. The center of mass is constant.
    Any thoughts?

      Chris this type of plane does it make for a need for flatter clubs? I know I’ve always been flat by a degree or even 2 degrees my irons are standard and trying a lot of what your explaining seems to flat for standard lies… am I n the right track and just need to get my lies tested with the new things im working on that I’ve learned here on your channel?

    • @jakeholman2271
      @jakeholman2271 11 месяцев назад

      @@spencegolfin My clubs are 2 deg flat. It’s been suggested to go to 6 deg flat to accommodate a more orbital swing like Hogan. My first instructor played the Tour in the 60s. His irons were 6 deg flat even then.

    • @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan
      @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan  11 месяцев назад

      @spencegolfin My clubs are all standard lies. Flattening them, some people say, makes it easier, but my clubs are blades with standard old school lies.

    Ben Hogans right hand never crossed over his left hand.
    As a result the left wrist was raised and in flexion at impact.
    Chris is turning the right hand down and over the left hand.

      I do not think it is going to require less energy, but I do believe it will start using the natural laws to get the club moving faster.
